Charles Krauthammer Analyzes President Obama‘s Reaction to ’White House Leaks’ Question

After President Obama’s news conference Friday morning, a Fox News panel, including Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Charles Krauthammer, took a moment to analyze one of the most talked-about portions of the presser: the president’s reaction to being asked about whether members of his administration were leaking classified information to help his reelection bid.

“The notion that my White House would purposely release classified national security information is offensive,” the president said.

Krauthammer believes the president’s response was a misstep.

“I think he’ll regret having made this statement the same way he’ll regret the idea about the private sector doing okay,” said the columnist.

He continued:

If it is offensive, the idea that it would’ve been leaked, when we know that in the report itself it included White House officials, then let him prove it by having a special council appointed. From what you said, they would’ve said ‘appoint a special council’ (had it been the equivalent of a “Scooter” Libby investigation).

So what does Krauthammer think is the next step in this growing story?

“The key here is (Senator) Dianne Feinstein. If she demands it, it’ll be done,” Krauthammer said.

“And she’s the Democratic Chair of the Senate Intelligence [Committee],” Fox host Chris Wallace clarified.

“She’s the democratic, liberal chair. She’s extremely angry over these leaks, she should be, and she’s the one who needs to speak out right now,” Krauthammer added.

      It’s offensive to Americans that this hapless helpless pathetic White House is singing like a canary to anyone who will listen. I have had a gut feeling for over a year now that disastrous O personally spilled the beans to his Hollywood friends that are filming his movie. The OBL BHO movie coming out in October is full of leak seals lost there lives for BHO’s movie too, because of leaks.

      Remember that this information directly quotes the President IN THE SITUATION ROOM. The NY Slimes’ reporter (who is the bureau chief) would more likely than not confirm those quotes from two sources that actually heard the words spoken (not here say). The information obviously came from inside the President’s closest circle or at the very least their top aides.

      Once again, Israel is thrown under the bus. Israel as of this point, has neither confirmed nor denied they were involved with the development or dispersal of the computer codes. They have stated that they have superior technological abilities and that was about it. But here we have the Obama’s people saying oh, yea Israel is right there with us on this one. These people would be shot if this happened during WWII.

      Finally, to all the Bush haters, this was another program Bush started. The shame is that he advised Obama to keep it secret along with the Drone strikes. Well, we know how this all turned out.

      Prior to making public comment MOST RESPONSIBLE people would investigate and demonstrate that the leak came from somewhere else, not just have a knee jerk response. Obviously, the leak was internal where else could it have come from?

      Did you know that Dr. Krauthammer suffered a serious injury in his youth that ended up paralizing him? He still made it through medical school and became the head of his department at John Hopkins. He then went on to become the most highly thought of political commentator in the country today. What have you done? Shame on you.

      Who said it was a bad thing? I think you guys need to reevaluate yourselves as to what you think is good or bad in a way a person looks. I never said looking like Herman Munster was bad, did I? No, I didn’t.

    Mr. Krauthammer is right in saying that Sen. Feinstein is the key to whether Holder’s investigators will palliate her or is she really so upset that she will demand a special prosecutor. Have any of our traditional allies, which Obama has done his best to alienate, contacted her and said that sharing intel is over? Has the intelligence community experienced a sudden increase in resignations or a drop off in applicants?
    A further point I would add is that no one in the WH-the President himself or Pinocchio Carney included– has indicated that any of the information in the NYT article or the book is false.

      It’s the “I cannot recommend him highly enough…” approach… Let the basically kind Americans assume he meant offensive and wrong to be it could not happen, while actually saying yes what I am doing is offensive and wrong, but no one will be able to prove it…
