Charlie Crist Throws Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad First Pitch

SB Nation’s headline puts it this way: Toward Canon of Terrible First Pitches, Charlie Crist Aims High. So true.

The first rule for any public figure tossing out a first pitch is to make sure you don’t skip it in the dirt – that’s a clear sign of weakness likely to cost the pol no less than a quarter of the electorate (margin of error plus or minus 100 percentage points). By that standard, Crist succeeds. But by the only marginally less important standard of “whoa there, don‘t launch it into the visitor’s dugout” the governor fails spectacularly.

Crist seemed upbeat about his performance telling MLB.com, “It was fun. I threw it a little wide right. I think that was more symbolic of my opponent to be honest.” Ha. You can watch those comments, and the pitch in higher quality, here.

There is good news for Crist, however, and a developing scenario that will not cheer the hearts of Rubio fans.  Here’s the rumor: Democrat Kendrick Meek will drop out and endorse Crist.  Allahpundit finds this disquieting:

Simply put, Meek can’t win; with less than a month to go, there’s no longer any doubt about it. Even if Crist dropped out and endorsed him, he’d probably still lose to Rubio as centrist Republicans in Crist’s camp tilted back towards the GOP nominee. Meek’s only role in this race at this point is to make Rubio’s path to the Senate nice and easy, which he’s doing a splendid job of.

This can’t go on. Democrats won’t ride this train off a cliff. Some sort of deal must be in the works. Dude, I’m nervous.

Stephen Moore is following the trail of speculation:

Democrats had hoped that when Mr. Crist abandoned the GOP for an independent run, it would split the Republican vote and propel Mr. Meek into the winner’s circle. With four weeks to go, no one believes that now. Mr. Meek, who is African-American, polls strongly only with black voters.

UPDATE:  Ace of Spades explores the reasons why the rumors may not be true. Read the account here.

For now, though, just go back and watch the pitch again.

If it smells like a democrat and pitches like a democrat and supports the failed obamass agenda, it must be a RINO-liberal-democrat-“independent”-turncoat-failure-waffler. Crispy Crist might be upbeat about his lame pitch, but I doubt that Floridians will be so generous toward their idiot (soon to be former) governor and (soon to be out-of-work) obamass-kissing politician.

      @BUTCHER
“My God”? God is God. He’s an absolute truth, like a mathematical equation.
If you don’t believe that 1+2+3=6, and I do, that doesn’t make it “my equation”.

*Pseudo conversation betwixt you and me:
ME: Butcher, do you know everything?
BUTCHER: Of course I don’t know everything. Don’t be ridiculous.
ME: Do you know half of everything?
BUTCHER: What’s your point? I don’t have all day.
ME: Okay, let’s pretend you know half of everything, just for argument’s sake.
Is it possible that God exists in the other half that you don’t know? BAM!

      *Got that from Hovind.

Who is it you’re chanting “Please, please, please!” to when you’re REALLY hoping something goes your way? You innately know that God exists, but you are like a little child holding his hand in front of his eyes thinking that his parent can’t see him. Atheism is merely an intellectual hiding place from God, and you know what they say: You can run…

      Atheist/Evolutionist Life Verse:
Jeremiah 2:27 Saying to a stock (or, tree), Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.

No, we can’t all agree on that. If I need medical attention, I’m not going to a layman for treatment. I’m going to find a reputable professional and hire him. Mike Huckabee is a man of great wisdom and integrity, and is who we need in the White House. Newt may lack the integruty, but more than makes up for it with experience and knowledge. These men would get the U.S.A. back on the right track, i.e., freedom and prosperity. Vote Huckabee-Gingrich 2012!

I don’t want it to become a debate on the merits of religion every time I post here, but I suppose I am to blame — y’know, picking the name Atheist. I am an atheist, but I also just like the look of the word. It is pretty.

@Huckabee Gingrich 12 Well, I do lie sometimes, but I’m not right now; and I do believe that when it comes to bananas I am less ignorant than you or Mr. Ray Comfort.

The banana that Comfort is holding is the result of thousands of years of artificial selection by humans. Wild bananas are inedible. They are smaller, don’t perfectly fit into the human hand, and have rock-hard seeds in them that would never digest in a human stomach. Have fun crapping those out.

The reason we have such perfect bananas today is because when we find a bunch of bananas that we like we grow more from that strain, creating more like them. If we find a bunch that is displeasing, then we destroy them, and do not plant their seeds, which eliminates their genetic code from the population.

It is eugenics for bananas. It also wouldn‘t be possible if evolution weren’t real.
