Charlie Rangel Apologizes On-Air After Angrily Calling Laura Ingraham ‘Just a Pretty Girl’

Laura Ingraham has been called a “slut” by a liberal before. Now add “just a pretty girl” to the list.
The latest comment came courtesy of Rep. Charlie Rangel on Thursday night, who made the remark to Ingraham during a testy interview while Ingraham was filling in for Bill O’Reilly.
“Bill O’Reilly told me he had a secret weapon– I didn’t know it was just a pretty girl that they’d bring in,” an exasperated Rangel quipped, upset at the questions Ingraham was asking and the way she was conducting the interview.
Ingraham immediately shot back with a perplexed look on her face: “That’s very condescending, sir. Very condescending. A ‘pretty girl?’ These are serious questions.”
“You have asked me 50 questions and I’m begging you, I’m begging you, I’m begging you, to leave all the plantation stuff, leave out Johnson and the poverty program, and just ask me one question at a time!” Rangel said raising his voice.
So what led to this? Mediate explains the context:
Rep. Rangel was on the program to address comments made the night before by Rep. Allen West, who compared himself to Harriet Tubman and accused members of the Congressional Black Caucus of being complicit in running “the plantation.” Rep. Rangel noted that he was “very surprised” at the words, even allowing that Rep. West “is new and he’s a freshman,” but “he doesn’t come from the political party that can talk about plantations and that type of thing.” Ingraham immediately jumped on the comment, asking if, “Allen West, as an African-American, cannot use the word ‘plantation.’” That begot a vicious cycle of crosstalk that didn’t allow for much in the way of discussion, though Ingraham brought up 1960s Democratic programs and such until the conversation settled down, as Rep. Rangel argued he couldn’t get a word in.
Understanding that the comment could lead to a firestorm, however, Rangel eventually apologized. But that created a chance for Ingraham to get in a jab of her own.
“I’m sorry I said you were attractive,” Rangel said.
“That’s okay,” Ingraham responded, “I was going to make a joke about your condo in the Dominican Republican and I didn’t, out of respect for you.”

It always works because neither Bill or Lauria can get him to tell the truth. I don’t know if he really knows the truth or not. I’ve been wondering a lot why they bring such biased hateful people on. They cannot think outside blame and hate and make themselves look like idiots that they are. Is this on purpose? Once in a while you will get a smart person from the left that can see through things, but mostly they just whine and blame and make themselves look like brats. I would much rather have someone who can listen to the truth and talk about the truth rather than blame everyone else, the idiots always want to say it is the Tea Party’s fault, that is so stupid, or it‘s the Repbulican’s fault, or it‘s George Bush’s fault. I have come to belive that the Democratic Party is the party of the stupid. I am so happy that I no longer belong to that party. I was smart enough to change.. I never voted for them anyway but one time and that was a big mistake.

How can you compremise with Fundemental divides in how things should work. If you compremise then they wont work.

Enslaving people to your social programs ensures you get their vote. Especially if you tell them the other side wants to take their money away. No one wants to be set free until after they’re free. Even the Israelites wanted to go back to Egypt after Moses led them out of captivity. They moaned that they were slaves, but at least they had something to eat and drink. Getting your independence is hard at first.

Let’s face it, she cleaned his clock and did not allow him to spout his prepared canned speech to try and continue to paint Democrats as the only savior of the African-American. Rangel, looking wanly impotent and disoriented, responded in a befuddled, confused manner indicative of those on their way out. He bizarrely kept repeating the term plantation, plantation, plantation, as if it were a mantra offering him spiritual comfort. When Ingraham kindly offered him the opportunity to expand on his thinking, the avuncular old corruptocrat simply kept repeating plantation, plantation, plantation. A psychologist may well find a an excellent journal topic there.
No other explanation for his bizarre response was forthcoming.

She frequently interrupts people and talks over them. Bill is a much better interviewer and knows how to ask pointed questions that get the response he was looking for. Rangel was right for the first time in his life though, Laura is a pretty girl.

She‘s a good interviewer and whenever someone doesn’t answer your question you have to talk over them in order to get the question answered. She had to talk over him because he kept going off the reservation talking sh*t and not making any sense. Everything to the democrats is about inheritance (i.e., debt, wars, etc). Funny part is Obummer also INHERITED a Triple A rating but he somehow got it knocked down to a Double AA. She schooled him. END OF STORY.

It would have been better to focus, focus one one topic and pin him down. I really feel my hero Allen West was great the other day and the tax cheat would have no chance one on one with him. She’s a lot classier and smarter than this interview portrayed. She seemed angry. She needed to let him at least finish a sentence, give him enough rope to hang himself by his own words. @quiet little lamb, I am a conservative and I do like Laura and the blaze, and totally agree that he wasn’t angry, he was sarcastic and using typical ad homenem tactics that the Left has perfected in debate.

Report Post »For those who thought she interrupted the Congressman too often – just note that the answers he was attempting to give were the same old obfuscatory talking points we’ve heard before from other liberals – sop she didn‘t want to waste her aucience’s time by making us sit through those. Three words out of Charlie’s mouth and most of us here could have written the rest of his response from memory… so it was completely proper that she cut those answers off and brought him back to the main points until she FINALLY got him to admit that Obama‘s policies haven’t worked.
What an amazing journalist! – She can sit in for O’Reilly anytime!
