Cheney Calls Obama an Unmitigated Disaster in Post Transplant Speech

Former Vice President Dick Cheney called President Barack Obama an "unmitigated disaster" in his first post-heart transplant appearance Saturday, April 14, 2012. (AP Photo/Wyoming Tribune Eagle, Miranda Grubbs

Less than a month after receiving a heart transplant, former Vice President Dick Cheney minced no words in his assessment of President Barack Obama: He’s been an “unmitigated disaster.”

“I can’t think of a time when I felt it was more important for us to beat an incumbent president,” Cheney said of the November election. “[Obama] has been an unmitigated disaster for the country.”

According to the Associated Press, Cheney walked on stage without assistance at the Wyoming Republican Party’s state convention for a speech that lasted more than an hour. His first public appearance since the surgery, he didn’t appear to tire and looked markedly healthier than before the transplant, the AP reported.

Cheney said it would be a “huge disappointment” to give Obama another four years in the White House, and that the Republican Party needs to band behind Mitt Romney, whom Cheney called the “likely nominee” and said would do a “whale of a job.”

“I think it’s very important that we get together and gather together and gather behind our likely nominee,” Cheney said. “It’s Mitt Romney, I’ve known him for a long time, I’ve got a lot of confidence in him.”

Cheney is a true patriot. He gave decades of his life to the public service and to our country. The more the left disparages him, the more I know he did a great job.
Wasn’t amazing how the “kind and compassionate” members or the progressive (communist) left were wishing he had died and said that he stole the heart from a more deserving citizen.

Well, I like Cheney BUT my father had a massive heart attack just before his 72nd birthday and I was told he was NOT a candidate for a heart transplant because of his age— I’m not holding it against Cheney though, because I know Bill Clinton, George Bush, Maxine Waters, or even a turd like Charlie Rangle would have gotten a heart before my father would have… Heck, even someone like Nancy Reagan would be taken care of before someone like my father…

Progressives have no idea what defines a “man.“ Look at their leader running off having ”homosexual affairs of the heart.“ Michelle is milking the ”Flotus” for all it’s worth, but, she knows that is not a “man” in the WH. She just decided to trade off any real relationship in trade of material things. She could care less about Valerie playing “WH Mama, or Reggie taking care of her man’s needs. As long as she has unlimited cash flow, she could care less about how much of a “man” Barry is.

One of the reason this country is in this much trouble, is do to the fact people
ran from the Bush/Cheney Administration, into the arms of the Obama/ Biden Administration.
And now we are in HUGE trouble because we are going to run “from” Obama/Biden
into the arms of Romney/? Administration.. No Great choice.

I would say to Cheney ..
Your administration contributed to this tragedy ,that we as nation are experiencing

The establishment from “both” sides know exactly what their doing..
Both sides have been part of the problem and we are going to see in the years to come
how much trouble “WE” the citizens of the U.S. are going to be in.
Romney has NOT said one word about NOT having as many CZARS..
And ALL the new power acts the last 2 administrations have implemented.
    What going to do.?
    UNDO WHAT..OBAMACARE..!! THAT’S IT ..???

    No…!
We keep getting fed by the MSM to keep our focus on our Faith..Abortion.. And Ethnicity.

We know all the sayings …

    “Absolute power corrupts absolutely” …

“The more LAWS a nation has , the more the corruption” …

These two phrases are the going to be the words that etched on The U.S. Tombstone… !

Just one of the Parties is going to use be a little smoother ,in their

I am not all that fond of Romney myself. But, I would consider my wife’s dog to do a better job than 0bama has. My battle cry this year has been “ANYBODY BUT 0BAMA! And, I will stick with that. At least Romney was a business man and cannot be as absolutely stupid as 0bama has been, or at least will not try to destroy the country as 0bama has. My hope is that he will do what he can to start drilling for oil again, but I do expect the left loons to go judge shopping in those areas to do everything they can to shut drilling down. He will have to take a tactical view of those areas first. He and a new congress needs to reel in agencies like the EPA and there needs to be a law that allows only congress to make the rules and laws that the EPA can enforce. No more rogue agencies running wild. Well, we can hope and pray this time.

All the media is concerned about is their advertising revenue. They are contributing to a “one world government” beacause they & the conglomerates that own them see “one world revenues” 10 fold.

We need someone with some nads to step in & eliminate any bureaucracy that prevents this nation from operating @ an efficient fiscal normalcy. Eliminate any department that kills jobs creation by their absurd regulatory guidelines. Any department that collaorates with the UN’ green facism & Maurice Strong‘s ’sustainable development’. The earth is just fine here in the US & if they want to save the planet and tax the air that we breathe, let them do it in the EU or wherever else those citizens might be that gullible, but get the hell out of the US.

obama doesn‘t care if he’s 3T over budget because he doesn’t plan on paying it back or if he is, he’s planning to crash the dollar and send us all to the poor house. Why is it that he‘s building up this ’police state’? Not for the hell of it!

Romney needs to grow a set. Hopefully whoever he chooses as VP will be a strong tenacious leader and influence him into standing tall not forgeting what made this nation the greatest & most prosperous in world history. We should not stand for any ‘Bilderburg Group’ choosing a VP mate!

      Jerry Frey:

Just for kicks, describe in detail what the world would be like without the Iraq scenario. Take a good educated shot at it and you only get one chance. Consider the following:
      1. We ignored many chances to address Bin Laden
      2. Terrorism was nothing NEW to the US. Just look at the incidences starting with 911 and go back.
      3. The African peninsula is and has been a groundswell of terrorists for many years.
      4. Consider the role of Arafat, Hamas etc.
      5. Consider the role of Qadaffi
      6. Consider the relationship between Iran, Russia and N. Korea
      7. Jihad is a reality because extremists say it is…and I believe them.
So just what would our world look like today if say….Kerry actually won? I have no interest in rhetoric or B.aloney S.andwiches. Take a shot for me. “I don’t know” is epic fail on your part.
      thx.

This has grown so old and tired– The message of Saddam and Iraq having WMD‘s wasn’t just sold to us by the “Neo-Cons” it was the message brought to us by all– Sen. Hillary Clinton AND her husband Bill both said Saddam had WMD’s as did Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, John D. Rockefeller and many, many others. Now Byrd I know didn’t support and “Resolution to use Milt. Force against Iraq” and I‘m sure Ted didn’t either but they both said Saddam had WMD’s– Byrd‘s actual quote was ’We know Saddam has WMD’s, we‘ve always known he’s had them, so what’s the rush to go to war” Ted said about the samething.. And anyone who watched Hans Blix before the UN would also know his final report implied they still had WMD’s as he said Saddam was not giving them full access to EVERYTHING… Anyone who says ONLY the NEO-CONS said Irag had WMD’s is a liar,, or stupid or a BS artist– I watched Blix’s last report to the UN live— I didn’t wait for MSNBC or CNN or FNC to edit it to fit their agenda,, I watched Hans Blix on live TV tell the UN Saddam was still hiding something…

Actually, “Time_”, my main beef with Bush/Cheney was the out of control spending, increasing the size and personal intrusiveness of the federal government, no child left behind, prescription drugs, the bailouts, stimulus, and of course, wars that we can NOT afford. The same thing that i criticize Obama for, i also criticized Bush for. That is the difference between you and i. You gave Bush/Cheney a free pass because they had an (R) at the end of their names.

Bush also gave us medicare part D an expansion of the federal government and any conservative worth his salt would be against the expansion of the federal government.Several departments in the federal government are unconstitutional and need to be abolished,if Mitt defeats the Marxist in chief and gains control of the senate he won‘t reduce the size of government and you can bank on that if there’s any solvent banks four years from now.

@Republicorp, I LOVE MITT ROMNEY!!! He excites me as much as any candidate has ever done since Ronald Reagan! Conservatives don’t bow down and worship their candidates like Democrats do. Conservatives won’t squeal and faint just at the sight of ANY candidate. It’s just not in their nature. They are looking for a leader, not a rock star. True leaders are always leaders, while rock stars are just a fad, and their popularity can fade just as quickly as it arose.
Why do I like Romney? MANY reasons. I see a good, decent and very kind person. He does good deeds and never brags about them because he is HUMBLE not arrogant like Obama. I see an intelligent man – so intelligent that he graduated from Harvard Law school with honors, passed the Bar Exam, but preferred being a businessman over the shady field of law. I see a man who is greatly competent in his chosen field, and has a passion for helping other people and a REAL patriotic spirit. I see a man who is not perfect, and I don’t agree with 100% of what he has done, (but pretty close to it) but I don’t know of anybody that I ever agree with 100% of the time. Do you? I see a man who has the same values that I have, who is proud of success, but also wants others to be successful in both their professional and personal lives. I see someone who wants to unite this country not divide it.

“Bush was not a disaster! Gas was down, unemployment at record lows, production up, housing growth up, pride in ones country up, he fought two wars simultaneously….most of the reason you say he was a disaster is because the media have brainwashed most people in this country to believe that lie without providing any proof other than Bush mashing his words in delivery. Big Whoop”

I don’t know what planet that you were living on at the time but i remember my gas, at one point, going up to almost $5.00, the housing market tanking, and two wars being funded by borrowing money from our good friend communist China, as well as printing more money.
In all honesty, the gas prices and the housing market tanking were NOT Bush’s fault. I don’t blame him for that. As far as being brainwashed………How was that housing market doing during the Bush years, again?

But the real reasons why you and others like you hate Bush are for exactly the reason I wrote above, but you can spin it in another direction if you choose.

Ron Paul acolytes can also come up with a laundry list of things they didn’t like about Reagan too and DO at every opportunity presented. Don’t even get me started on why Paul and his followers hate Lincoln etc.

The fact remains. The Ron Paul Revolution is based on Ron Paul’s Rothbardian libertarian anti-war zeolotry which motivates the rest of his platform. It’s as simple as that.

So, because i support Ron Paul for president that makes me a “Ron Paul disciple”. I also voted for Harry Brown. Does that make me a Harry Brown disciple? I also voted for Chuck Baldwin. Again, am i a Baldwin disciple? You support Mitt Romney. Does that mean that you are a Mitt Romney disciple? I don’t agree with Ron Paul on everything, although i do agree with most of what he says. I’ll admit that he does have his share of rapid supporters who hang on his every word. I am not one of them. I support Ron Paul because he best represents my views on the role of the federal government. I am a libertarian. Of course i also support his views on foreign policy but that is just a small drop in the bucket for me.

DISS. The libertarian believes that legal restrictions and social norms exist just to oppress him. With all the libertarian emphasis on personal liberty, there is remarkably little attention paid to personal obligation. In fact, the notion of obligation itself is almost anathema.. no one should be forced to do anything, and extreme libertarianism accepts virtually no exterior restraint on personal liberty.

Again, you don’t know the difference between libertarian and libertine. Actually, what you are describing is more along the lines of anarchy. There is no anarchy in libertarianism. Libertarians are bound legally by the same laws that you are bound to. Although, libertarians would prefer that laws not granted to the federal government by way of the constitution be handled on a state and local level. Again, we are bound by the same laws that you are. If we harm or infringe upon your rights and/or property, we are subject to all of the laws that are already on the books that defend your rights as an individual and as a property owner. Libertarianism is, by definition, the ultimate act of personal responsibility. You are free, depending on state and local laws, to make bad choices with your life. But with bad choices comes consequences. If you make a bad choice, don’t go running to federal government looking for a hand out.

If that’s the case DISS, I can only assume you would be a better fit with Gary Johnson than you would with the Ron Paul Revolution as libertarianism has its basis in anarchism, as put forth by Murray Rothbard. Ayn Rand (who I am also no fan of mind you) excoriated anarchism, and for good reason. Rothbard learned laissez-faire capitalism at Ayn Rand’s knee, then proceeded to steel those ideas and corrupt them, which led to modern day libertarianism, a polyglot of conflicting ideas, without a consistent moral foundation which is the basis for Ron Paul’s libertarian ideological leanings.

You’re generalizing. Not all libertarians support Anarcho-capitalist policies, just like not all democrats support abortion and not all republicans oppose abortion. Anarcho-capitalism has its positives, as well as its negatives. We can debate the pros and cons of Anarcho-capitalism if you’d like. If you support privatizing airport security and eliminating the TSA, as many of the people who post on the Blaze do, then you support part of Anarcho-capitalism.

RE: Housing during Bush. I have 2 words for you, names actually. Dodd-Frank. You must know the Fair Housing Act with POTUS Clinton in 1999 is what gave birth to the subprime industry correct? Banks FORCED to loan money that any calculator qualifying a loan would reject the applicant. 0% down just to get people in homes. I didn’t like the wars either and as far as no-child and prescriptions…who ran the houses? Personally I think Bush should have pushed for line item veto and rejected plenty of spending. Fannie and Freddie took on the risk as gov agencies and it became a shell game with trillions at that point. Busy day. Trying to make a buck serving customers to feed the family.

Separate housing from the overall economy and we are foolish. The bush economy is typically defined by his last 3-6 months in office (unemployment, gas $ etc) . We can debate unemployment, GDP, Job creation but anyone saying he is the “worst” over his 8 years will lose that debate. My point to you is you exempt POTUS Bush from the housing bubble knowing that was the pre-cursor to so many other failures. 90%+ home ownership rate is a fact, and a joke by comparison to poverty / affordability rates. Who put those people in the houses, who forced the banks to loan the money, who allowed a 2nd and 3rd mortgage based on non-existent equity. You seem like a smart guy so you know as housing would go, so would go the rest of the economy…ie capital. The “housing bubble” burst 12-14 months prior to the “lending bubble” which manifested in late summer/fall 2008. Ironic…ain’t it? In the end I sense your exemption of housing statements are as convenient as the exceptions of today..”If it weren’t for Bush (tax cuts, war, spending..pick one) the Obama economic policies (QE1 or 2) would have had a much greater impact…the problems were worse than we knew.” Dodd/Frank was cause and effect on an astronomical scale. Bush’ biggest problem was spending and like I said, I wish he held it tighter.
