Cheney Mocks Obama‘s ’Shovel Ready Project’ at Bush Library Groundbreaking

CBS News:

At groundbreaking ceremony in Dallas for the George W. Bush Presidential Center today, former Vice President Dick Cheney said “history is beginning to come around” to a more positive view of former President George W. Bush.

Cheney said that Mr. Bush, whose approval rating upon leaving office was just 22 percent, always understood that “judgments are a little more measured” with the passage of time. He added that Americans “can tell a decent, goodhearted stand up guy when they see him.”

Cheney, who (unlike Mr. Bush) has been a vocal critic of President Obama, also took a shot at the current administration. Speaking of his expectation that construction would move quickly on the presidential center following the groundbreaking, Cheney quipped that “this may be the only shovel ready project in America.” The reference was to the Obama-supported stimulus package that Republicans have criticized as ineffective.

Actually, Gretchen Carlson, via Steve Doocy, asked President Bush on Fox this morning if the library was a shovel ready project. But the VP does look a lot healthier, I almost didn’t recognize him. I love his sense of Loyalty and the loyalty he showed the administration during their 8 years in office. No matter what you think, both of these men have great character.

Actually, the “shovel ready job” joke was on FOX and Friends this morning.
But, it is definately worth repeating…….and, repeating!

    Especially:
    - After the ten day waste of a trip to the East
    - On the same day that the 1st Living Recipient Medal of Honor was awarded; by the trip-taker
    - On the same day Charlie Rangle was found guilty

    >Besides, it’s politically funny!

Actually there are 2 shovel-ready projects in this country! The other one is underway, and we just scooped up (and threw out) a third of the manure from the ‘stalls of Congress’ during the midterms. Two more swipes oughta do it!

I relly hate to do this to my nice, apparently unthinking , non homework doing friends here at the Blaze, BUT.
First of Dick was very funny in this, but HE’s a pot calling the kettle black. GO to http://www.CFR.org and look at the membership lists yourself, HE and the Obamas (michelle now, Barack got removed from the list upon election)Oh and look George Soros is there too, and both the old and new CEO’s of BP America. We need to look out for “shill’s” inside the republican party folks, and irregardless I don’t think Glenn started the “Blaze” to be a republican website, in FACT I know he did not.
The Blaze is a “we the people”“ yes I can” website, have we fallen asleep so quickly that we don’t do our own homework again? Wake up before TSA puts its hands down your pants to get your “junk”, We need to be vigilant always, and NO compromise on wickedness. Good golly miss molly, if you think Jr was on “our” side please explain his continuing the string of “executive orders” started under Clinton that have basicly set up a marshall police strate in our country? Its all there in the public records, signed, sealed and delivered. How blind are we that we can’t connect the dots to see that Clinton, Bush and now Obama were and are playing for the same team, and that team is not US.

Good one. After seven years of his administration, the economy collapsed. Hence the need for shovel ready projects. There was the 9-11 thing, committing the same crime of torture that the US prosecuted enemy soldiers for in WWII, and we court marshaled soldiers for in Vietnam, Katrina, one war based on lies which has removed the balance of power with Iran who now dominated the region. Two unpaid wars and tax cuts which took us from a balanced budget to a huge deficit.

Blame someone else for all those things if you can contort your thoughts to that degree, but history will be the judge. And no, Bush‘s favorable ratings are not improving and it’s hard to see how they will.
