Cheney to NBC: Obama Still a ‘One-Term‘ Prez and I’m ‘Interested’ in Palin

While he may look like only a fraction of his former self, former vice-president Dick Cheney is still as sharp and opinionated as he was during his political career. And like his former boss George W. Bush, he’s stepping out of seclusion to once again acquaint himself with American television sets.
In a sit-down with NBC recently, Cheney opened up about the Bush years and current events, as well as what lies ahead. He covered everything from Barack Obama (he’s still a “one-term” president), Sarah Palin (“I’m interested in Gov. Palin like a lot of people are.”), and even gave a glimpse of the memoir he is currently writing (”I have a bit of a sense I’m going to get the last word.”).
He also talked about his differences with George W. Bush — especially when it came to pardoning Cheney’s chief of staff “Scooter” Libby — and admits he actually offered to resign three different times. But still, he said his relationship with the former president is good.
The extensive, 10-minute interview aired on Tuesday morning’s edition of “Today”:

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 10:12amA great man with a good heart. Libs don’t like him because they fear strength and intelligence. Someday libs might grow up enough to realize that some decisions need to be made without emotions and hand wringing. You can always depend on Cheney to tell it like it is, a quality not much valued in Washington these days.

Ain’t no other man in this country with the perfect combination of stones and intelligence like DC has. Too bad we get losers like Obama and Clinton as presidents.

Is this the ONLY way BO can get his approval numbers up and stop the FREIGHT TRAIN that was speeding toward the liberals? All of a sudden, now that THEY are in the minority, it’s all about compromise and getting along? Does anyone else remember the Bush 2007 State of the Union speech right after the DEMOCRATS took control? FAR from civil with “integrated” seating. What a joke. They could barely find it in themselves to applaud, never mind stand. This should be just great, with everyone bowing to Obama and his “peace” treaty with the right. He is far from the MODERATE that he is trying to present himself and we all know it. DO NOT BE FOOLED by the snake oil salesman. We need more people like him in Washington who understand businesses create jobs, especially big businesses. The more laws, rules, regulations, permits and every other form of expense government piles on to business, the more reasons they have to look to other countries for a place that appreciates corporate home offices, factories and shipping facilities. The more we paint businesses as a problem instead of a solution, the longer the unemployment lines will be.

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 10:14amTHE REPUBLIC IS IN CRISIS –LEADERSHIP REQUIRED http://commonsense21c.com/
A champion of freedom, reminiscent of George Washington, will be necessary for the Republic to survive. This new leader must fulfill Ayn Rand’s definition of a “Radical for Capitalism” and will have to be a charismatic speaker to Garner the popular support required to save the Republic. At this time there’s no one on the national scene that fulfills these specifications.
Two personalities that show promise are Herman Cain and Marco Rubio. Both of these men are excellent communicators but they have yet to earn extensive public support or demonstrate that they are truly “Radicals for Capitalism”. Only time will tell if either of these men has the philosophy and the charisma to save the Republic. Perhaps someone, unrecognized today, will rise to the occasion.
Who do you think has the capacity to restore the Republic? http://commonsense21c.com/

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 11:08amAnon., Yes, Palin has been treated unfairly. But she has injured herself. I was very excited about her after the Republican convention. But then I watched her wink and grin her way through interview after interview, answering with non sequiturs instead of substance, even when facing a friendly interviewer. Since then, rather than try to build a resume as a serious person, she has quit her governorship and gone on reality TV. Her heart is in the right place, and she has some obvious political gifts, and a diehard core of followers. She probably has enough diehard followers to win the nomination. But I don’t think she can inspire confidence in enough voters to win a general election. The more exposure she gets to those outside her “base,” the worse she will look.

Posted on January 18, 2011 at 11:24amFrom 1995 to 2000, it took the entire 5 years to add another trillion dollars to the national debt. By contrast, from 2002 to 2008, it consistently took about 20 months to add a trillion dollars to the national debt. The national debt is comfortably over a massive, titanic $14 trillion, and it has, since 2008, been increasing at the, again unsurprisingly, and again alarmingly, consistent rate of $1 trillion every 7 months! This year we are on track to spend $2 trillion!
