Child Sex Slavery Documentary Pulled From 5th-Grade Class After Parent Complains

Gina was sold into sex slavery at the age of seven and beaten with sticks and aluminum rods. Anita was lured by a friend and then drugged and sold, threatened with being buried alive.

Such are the wrenching tales of Bombay’s child sex slave trade featured in “The Day My God Died,” a documentary that until this week was screened to fifth-grade students in a California classroom.

“It will absolutely not be shown. It’s age inappropriate,” Troy Sherman, an assistant superintendent at Ukiah Unified School District told the San Jose Mercury News.

He said school district officials were unaware Yokayo Elementary School teacher Stephanie Anderson was showing the documentary to her 9, 10 and 11-year-old students until an outraged parent complained this week. Ukiah is approximately 140 miles northeast of Sacramento.

It was unclear whether Yokayo Elementary officials were aware of what was going on; Sherman said the district is now investigating whether the film — which describes young girls being beaten, tortured and raped until they submitted — was also shown to fourth graders.

Sherman wouldn’t say whether any disciplinary action would be taken against Anderson.

Parent Willow Anderson (no relation) said Stephanie Anderson told students to obtain verbal permission from their parents in order to watch the film, the Ukiah Daily Journal reported.

“I viewed this video today and I can assure you that it is not anything I ever would have approved for my 10-year-old to view,” Willow Anderson said.

She told school board members Tuesday she was “heartbroken” she hadn’t been able to speak to her daughter about healthy sexual relationships before “having the subject of human trafficking thrown in her face, unprepared.”

“This is her first experience with the subject of sexuality,” Anderson said. “I cannot fathom how this may have affected children who may have witnessed or been victims to abuse themselves.”

    Hey reality is harsh, and sooner or later these kids are going to have to deal with the reality of war, death, terrorism, hatred, dangers in local communities like pedophiles, rapist, murderers out walking aroung, child abduction, the sooner they realize this the better, i dont know if i would show elementary school kids this kind of thing but i would definatly show middle school students this kind of material. the world isnt about peace love, gay sex, tolerance and understanding, and fluffy unicorns and fluffy pillows, its a harsh dangerous world outthere and they need to be woke up eventually just saying

      Thomas, what you say is true. But, the harsh reality of life comes all to soon and I’m not sure I want my nine year old great granddaughter growing up that fast. I want her to play with dolls and ride her bicycle. I want to watch her learn to crochet from her great grandmother and know four generations of the family.
      As long as I can afford to let her be a little girl she will be given the privilage of being one. She will grow up to soon and thank god she is in the bosum of a loving family and not in a third world country where this is commonlace.

      Child brains are not psycologically developed enough for such shocking topics at such a young age and teachers know it. That‘s why it’s called “age appropriate.” Otherwise, lets just expose kids to “everything” at infancy because “sooner or later” they’ll have to deal with the world. And BTW, if this were a parent, social services could be called in.

      Like I said before, muslims do this to convert kids to Islam! They rape the boys and when the boys convert to islam they then give them the girls that they have abused also! Its accepted pratice and goes all the way back to mahammad! Blacks seem to forget that they were enslaved in africa and then moved across deserts to be put on ships and sold over seas. But it was the muslims who rounded them up and enslaved them! People this is just one more reason that we dont accept any muslims belief! No matter what they say and especially when it comes to peace! Its accepted practice in islam! Child Soldiers is what they call these kids when they‘re used fot militia’s! Its a travesty, Now add Aids into the course and you can understand why they can’t get a handle on it!

      This isn’t about religion. What does it matter what religion a little kid is when they are being raped, beaten, and sold into slavery? Every religion has had the same problem. It doesn’t matter what religion you are. Every religion can bleed. Every religion has both men and women that are beaten or abused. Every religion has those who abuse their position. It does not matter! Who cares that you are really Christian? Did it save this little girl? Did you being a Christian do ANYTHING to stop their suffering? Did YOU do anything to help them? Even now when you could donate, or go help now that you KNOW it is happening? This is about the beatings, raping, murder, and slavery of people and should it be shown in school. Just saying you are a Christian does NOTHING for you. Stop thinking about only yourself and what a selfish person you have become and think about you having a daughter or a son that this is happening to. Do you think it should be shown to a bunch of kids who haven’t even hit puberty yet? Well?

    Why on earth does a 10 year old even need to learn about human traffiking? How did the teacher think this was appropriate at all? SAY NO TO STRANGERS is all they need to be taught! This subject should be at least reserved for teenagers! Liberals piss me off!

      I’m with you, Superchunk. Our city has a police officer who is particularly gifted in retrieving missing children and he’s seen things that sicken him. After I saw only two minutes of the video, I went and washed my hands. I don’t think this type of film is for 10 year olds.

      Please, allow our children to be children for as long as possible. That used to be the way of things. You just didn’t discuss certain things “in front of the children”. The Loss of Innocence comes all too soon nowadays. Protect them, if you can. (One more reason people are choosing Homeschooling over the public schools.)

      I applaud the teacher for wanting to bring the disenfectant of sunlight on this horrific practice. Are 9 year olds in a place to digest this info and go into meaning ful action? Apparently all-gore AL Gore thinks so. He and the rest of his 1% ilk want to teach 1st graders about the “true” religion of “climatology”. Cans of Coke and classrooms teach the clear lies of this new religion.

      Let’s get real – Children are not the canvas for liberal clap-trap. PARENTS should find out who instituted this showing and who approved it.

      The bigger picture is about Teachers who do not teach but prefer to indoctrinate without parental involvement. These folk DO NOT deserve the privaledge of teaching our children.

    So, now we can’t trust THE PRESIDENT, THE TEACHERS, THE CONGRESS, THE SCIENTISTS, THE EPA, THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT – - all sorts of lying and obfucation – weird power trips. These people are behaving in such odd pathological ways…taking all sorts of “liberties,” with the tax paying public – that they should NOT be taking. I suggest that we trim their feathers everyday – until there’s a realization that they are “servants,” not rulers!!! How dare this teacher take this liberty – I’d be furious if some haughty teacher to it upon herself to discuss this with my child! It’s certainly a subject that may well be on the list of discussion to have – but it’s not up to this teacher. She should be fired!

    I watched the whole thing it is an hour long. It was very sad, and the content was much to old for grade school. I agree that children need to have their awareness raised to the dangers around them, but this is something that could be, with parental consent only, shown in high school.

      I agree with you cryinginthedesert. This should be shown to High School Aged kids. It‘s hard enough for these young one’s. We still need to warn them of dangers, yes…. but this stuff is more age appropiate for 8th grade and up.
      It’s about time they started reporting on this. This kind of stuff is happening all over the WORLD!

      From the looks of things, they are doing a pretty good job of indoctrinating our children. I happened upon a web site that contained some art work done by children, art work which was supposed to have the theme of our First Amendment. I found the depiction of the First Amendment by a number of the children very troubling. Is this what they are learning in school? Unfortunately, I think the answer is “Yes”.

    I think… all knowledge should be Available, Free, and UnCensored… but, I also think… there is a Gentle Way of explaining certain Subjects, without Graphic Detail, at various ages!

      The point is this age group has no reason to be viewing this or even discussing this material. Instead they should be still learning/internalizing solid Judeo-Christian precepts from which (at a later age) they can intelligently view, judge, discuss matters such as this. Currently, the left a$$es would rather shove this material down the children’s throats while teaching how to properly put on a condom.

    It‘s pretty fitting that this story came of the same week that the story about California’s miserable math and science scores came out. Teachers like this are why California is bombing on test scores. It has nothing to do with a lack of education funding. Bad teachers and non-English speaking illegal immigrants are killing California’s education system.

    The government gets into way too much…

    At the age of 10 not too long ago, a child would have far more education than just by the sex talk in some manners. Maybe they wouldn’t know algebra; never mind an adult knowing algebra, but at the age of 10, a child would be very close to adulthood. Adulthood would take place at the age of 12.

    People might think that our society is better at teaching children now, but in reality, our Government struggles to teach children. It sounded good when it got started, but it never had a good destiny in the first place. I mean, can you name ONE THING that the Government has recently in the past 60 years done a great job with?

      I understand that this stuff goes in and that it can’t be ignored, but I think you missed the point in a big way. I have a 10yo daughter and my wife just had the talk with her about a month ago. She was stunned to find out about having a monthly cycle and what sex is etc… Parents should be the ones to decide when and how that is to be presented to their children not schools or government. We know our children better than anyone. Teacher only get 4 to 7 hours a day with these kids and only for about 9 months and rarely any one on one. My wife and I believe that a child’s first understanding/exposure about sex is crucial to having a healthy sex life. Once thy are older they can learn about all the atrocities in life, but let them have their childhood while they can.

      The United States is the 3rd worst country when it comes to the sex slave trade so that would make it one of the worst. No I have not lost my mind and you would be surprised at some the areas in this country where it is specifically bad. Would you believe Toledo, OH is one of the worst cities in the world with regards to this issue? Well, it is. I have been in contact with some agencies that make it their mission to rescue girls (some as young as 12) from the slave trade that is alive and well in this country. There are estimates that as many as 300,000 are trapped in the sex slave trade in this country.

      I most respectfully disagree, Hedied4U, that our country is sticking our heads in the sand. The very fact that you happen to know that Toledo, Ohio is a center for the sex slave trade means that people do know. And people are working to stamp it out, but like any evil, it’s a hydra. You stamp it out one place and it pops up in another. That is no excuse, but simply a fact. However, that is a fact for adults, not 10 year old children.

      Looking at your screen name, it indicates you are a Christian. I would humbly suggest that this is the outworking of sin. Once again, not an excuse, just a fact.

      I agree that this is the work of Satan but too many Christian’s in this country have become to comfortable in their faith and have in effect made it no faith. They are unwilling to step out of their comfort zone and confront the sin that exists in our society head on and defeat it in the name of Christ. I contend that too many self proclaimed Christian‘s in this country are not as they are unwilling to live the same radical style of life lived by Christ and the early Christian’s. They allow sin to fester and grow under their noses as they fear man more then they fear God. They are unwilling to be that agent of change that Christ has called us to be in His name.

You must be young and programmed to believe that all the ills of the world are the fault of the USA. Don’t forget all the islamic countries abuse women and boys and girls.     Where the hell does Liberals get off thinking they know what is best for our kids? What gives them the right to teach such things. School at this age should be for reading, writing, and arithmetic. This is a subject for 11th and above. If I had school age children in that school, I would make sure that teacher never taught again.

    Honestly, I have to say that showing this to that age group is child abuse. It is a desensitizing technique useful for preparing them to accept such abuse on themselves at some point in the future. Pedophiles use this technique.

    I would suggest that, especially if you have a daughter, you make them watch the movie “Taken” their senior year in highschool in its entirety. Not at 10yrs old and not at school. But if they have that rediculous irresponsibility that could get them in deep trouble, it will likely wake them up. It is the best tool for teaching girls and boys too the cold hard facts of the world especially in Europe and over seas is capable of.

    What is wrong with schools now days. They should teach truth in the basic studies and leave the sex and related incidents to the parents when they think topics are appropriate and when they think at the right age.

    It is very good when you hear parents are taking an interest in all the kids studies and activities both in and after school time.
