Chilling Cell Phone Video Shows Violent Last Moments of Murdered Military Vet

An absolutely chilling cell phone video taken by an unidentified witness shows the final moments of a military veteran’s life, CBS Boston reports.
Stephen Perez, 22, who served two tours of duty in the Middle East with the U.S. Army as a sniper, was shot to death following a late-night brawl that erupted during a night out with friends in Boston’s Theater District last April.
The video shows a confrontation arising after a woman said something to Perez and his friends, kicking their car as they were trying to leave. Perez responded and said something back, which prompted an all-out brawl between two groups of people. The fight was brutal — several punches were thrown, many connected.
In the video, a man can later be seen retrieving a handgun from his waist, holding it steadily as he finds his target.

A man is seen holding a gun moments before Stephen Perez was gunned down following a parking lot brawl (Source: CBS Boston)
Perez’s cousin told CBS Boston that his family can barely stand to watch the video.
“You can hear the girl on the video saying, ‘He’s got a gun,’ and I just got choked up thinking, the next thing I’m going to see is him getting shot,” Mark Bruno said.
However, the video ends before the fatal shot that killed Perez rings out. Police say the shooter, identified as Peter Castillo, cowardly shot Perez in the back after he turned away.
“It‘s the most cowardice thing I’ve ever seen in my life,“ Boston police officer Marc Sullivan said on ”America’s Most Wanted.”
Surveillance video from the parking garage shows the gunman seen in the cell phone footage fleeing the scene, still gripping his gun. Another man involved in the fight, wearing a blue shirt, was also caught on the surveillance camera running from the garage.
Police believe Castillo has fled to the Dominican Republic. The suspect previously lived in Salem, Mass.
“He’s going to be brought to justice whether they snatch him up out of the Dominican Republic or not,” Bruno added. “Everyone has their judgement day.”
The video first appeared on “America’s Most Wanted.“ You can watch the ”America’s Most Wanted” segment below:

If the veteren had been armed there could be several Puerto Rican funerals going on this week.
Just one more reason why a concealed carry permit is the best thing going !
It’s a jungle out there and getting worse. Being armed, levels the playing field against these kinds of foreign hoodlums and illegal alien freaks.
May this poor vet’s soul rest in peace.

Hey, didn’t I read a story last year or the year before about a good guy using his gun to kill a bad guy? Something like that? I know it happens for sure in the movies and at least sometimes in real life. I think the lame stream media, under the iron-fisted control of Obama, suppresses all those stories cause they want you to think that guns are all bad and stuff. All you hear about is mass murders by white guys now that Obama is in office.
I mean, for the US having one of the highest gun violence rates in the world, why don’t we hear about all the good guys, bearing arms, killing the bad guys who would rob them and do them harm? For all the guns, where are all the stories about the good guys saving the day by whipping out their guns and putting down the bad guys? That must happen all the time!!! So why doesn’t the press cover that???

I think you answered your own question: “I think the lame stream media suppresses all those stories cause they want you to think that guns are all bad and stuff.”
The reality is:
“Based on survey data from a 2000 study published in the Journal of Quantitative Criminology, U.S. civilians use guns to defend themselves and others from crime at least 989,883 times per year.”

Just recently a grandmother gave five robbers who burst into her jewelry store a taste of her ammo. She didn’t kill anyone, but it looks like the next day one of those lowlifes was shot in the face by another jewelry store owner. About a month ago, another brave citizen shot and wounded two robbers who tried to hold up an internet cafe. Earlier this year a young woman killed a home intruder to protect herself and her baby. Four recent cases off the top of my head. Schedule a visit with your doctor, dude.

Posted on August 9, 2012 at 7:03amGuitar Master – Haven’t you heard. You cannot own any handgun in Mass without special permission.
When I was on active duty a friend of mine got transferred to Ft Devens. He had to fill out paper work to get permission to take his handguns with him. Permission was denied and he had to leave the guns with his parents in Texas. This was a US Army CWO2 who was a compititive shooter. At that time just having the guns in the state would have resulted in jail time.
This is a very good example of how gun congrol lawes keep us safe.

You know why, however the press does cover it – SOMEtimes. It’s where the NRA gets their articles for their “The Armed Citizen” section of their magazines. More than likely, you’ll hear a story about a citizen who uses a firearm to defend himself falling prey to the draconian laws of his city or state. Such laws should be turned on the politicians who write them and call for more…you’ll see those laws turned around faster than George Michaels spreads his cheeks for strangers in public bathrooms…

I was just as aggressive as some of these guys maybe even more I had my share of heated fights but never saw someone try to take the cowards way out and shoot someone. We all had guns and still do but you don’t see us shooting people without genuine cause.
In High school most of had guns in our truck or car on campus but there was never a shooting. Why? We had respect for people and life. There was discipline in school and home. We had to have manners we were taught respect, integrity and learned what commitment meant and most of all we learned that there were real consequences for our actions.

Seems like that really made a difference here, again. I am absolutely sure that the gun that was used was registered and that Castillo had a concealed carry license (sarcasm at its best). People like Castillo would think twice about pulling a gun if they had any suspicion that the other people around them were armed. And if they do end up pulling it, they would be met with extreme prejudice. Kind of a deterrent, don’t you think. Of course, all the Mass. police are going to do is process the crime scene, as usual, and hope they get extradition orders for Castillo from the Dominican Republic (right!).

You know the liberal reply. It is that guns will flow in form states were guns are legal to purchase & controls are lax. So their solution is to make guns illegal in all state & then everything will be perfect.
To back up their claim of perfect, they will point to the murder rate with or without guns in England to the U.S. If at this point you point out that the U.S. is more heterogeneous for a longer point in time or to other variables amply covered in wikipedia, they will start repeating mantra & stick their fingers in their ears.
Just saying that is what we are up against. If you say look at Switzerland it will hit their mind like water off a ducks back.

EXACTLY. The jackwagons showed up to blog here with their “walk away” or “vets are hostile” crap. Ignore them, it takes their power away.
This is ANOTHER example of what it’s like here in CA…dirty gang bass-terds have unregistered weapons, no carry permits, yet are heavily armed. But, when a law-abiding citizen tries to jump through the hoops to do it legally, it ALWAYS gets vetoed. You can‘t believe how many guns we can’t purchase in this state.

Are you talking about the 2 or 3 that you personally know or have you spent some serious amount of time with large groups of them to come to your conclusion? I am sure you would answer to the former where as I can answer to the latter. I am a proud military wife and I spend about 75% of my time with active duty military members. The vast majority of these men and women would avoid violence unless given no other choice. They are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, husbands, wives and dear friends.

In my companies we have to continually assess our communications, because we know that no one will read them if they include more than two small paragraphs. Try explaining highly technical matters to people subject to such constraints. It’s challenging, to say the least.

Posted on August 8, 2012 at 2:34pmIt pays not to hang around places where trouble can happen. There is enough of it all around, anyway. These people who kill our Americans are many times, already criminals from somewhere else who seems to not be looking too hard for them. Though an American territory, Puerto Ricans are not pro Americans in many cases. These people come here with an attitude and commit crimes and run back to the territory. They are over run with anti-American sentiment. These places like the Phillipeans, etc. are havens for terrorists, etc.

Posted on August 8, 2012 at 2:45pmYa that gun jumped out and shot that man. We should melt it down and make some piece symbols and sing love songs.
Of course the illigal allien should be registered to vote, given food stamps and hud housing.

Posted on August 8, 2012 at 2:45pmYa Gonzo they do but a popular saying on the street is “I’d rather get caught by the cops with my gun than get caught by my enemies with out it.” Laws are only followed by people who are scared of jail. Most criminals look at jail as a job hazard. Jail and prison is far too easy to scare hardened criminals.

Posted on August 8, 2012 at 2:57pmYep, and the only people who obey them are law abiding citizens like Perez. Mutts like the POS that shot him feel no obligation to obey our laws. I would love to know what Castillo’s immigration status was at the time of this shooting.
My condolences go out to Stephen’s family and friends. He sounds like a kid with a vast amount of potential to do good in the world. We will never know now, thanks to some cowardly shitb*g.

Posted on August 8, 2012 at 2:58pmThat shows you that gun control laws only affect those law-abiding citizens these gun grabbers claim to want to protect. Criminals don’t follow the laws, period.
Report Post »Gun control has nothing to do with guns, it’s all about CONTROL.

Posted on August 8, 2012 at 5:11pmLANDON410 He was shot in the back. Since when is getting in a fight a justification for murder. Yeah, throw them in the slammer for a night but kill them. Don’t blame this on the victim. Yeah he should have walked away but he is a young man full of testosterone and just did want came natural. Walking away was the choice he made in the end and the murderous coward still shot him in the back. There is one criminal involved and maybe a victim who made a poor choice. I guess as a victim of rape, the victim is to blame also.
