Chilling: UK ‘Crossbow Cannibal’ Serial Killer Shown Flipping Off Camera

Chilling. That may be the best way to describe the cavalier attitude expressed in a surveillance video showing a confessed serial killer showing off his weapon and flipping off the camera moments after killing a prostitute.
The video shows Stephen Griffiths, who calls himself the “Crossbow Cannibal,” returning to his apartment after murdering his latest victim. After brandishing the murder weapon — a crossbow — in the hallway, he raises his middle finger to the camera:

London’s Daily Mirror has posted the video of Griffiths in his apartment building on its website. The video was recorded minutes after he killed Suzanne Blamires, one of three prostitutes Griffiths confessed to killing, police said.
The video, some of which was obtained by CNN from the Daily Mirror, then shows the Bradford man carrying a sack down the stairs of his apartment building. The newspaper said it chose not to publish video showing Griffiths dragging Blamires’ apparently dead body by the shoulders down the corridor to his apartment.
Police said they found human remains linked to his victims in the nearby River Aire.
Griffiths was sentenced December 21 to three terms of life in prison after pleading guilty to the murders of Blamires, 36; Susan Rushworth, 43; and Shelley Armitage, 31.

This guy’s history reads like a knock off of a Thomas Harris novel, but U.K. authorities are claiming they didn’t have enough evidence to commit/hold the guy (what we in the U.S. generally term a the probable cause process to hold for being a danger to self/others due to mental illness). Griffiths said he was gonna engage in murder (he fantasized about becoming a serial killer), a psychiatrist is on record saying Griffiths was a serious threat, Griffiths had a history of unprovoked assault (stabbed a guy for no reason) and had four documented suicide attempts.

Most of the time it is because parents didn’t do their part in raising their children. I agree sometimes its just a head full of bad wiring. God says that you raise you children up in Christ and when they grow up they will not depart from them. Most of the time these kids are allowed to do whatever they want with no consequences. Just as long as the parents aren’t bothered by it. Hopefully this person will find that what he did was wrong, and learn from his mistakes. But most jailhouse religion is just that. A means to an end to get out early, so they can cause mayhem again.

If someone is caught on video beyond all reasonable doubt conducting a heinous crime, they should get one term death! There should be no death row for 30 years. This man now has: 3 meals a day, never has to work a day again, has television, all the books he wants to read, a warm bed, probably will be allowed conjugal (sp?) visitations, won’t have to worry about paying bills, etc. Heck, who wouldn’t want to be in prision! or maybe not want to be in prison but life on the outside might be a whole lot harder to deal with! The death penalty, no matter what the idiot libs and anti-death penalty people say, is a deterrant. Maybe not for everyone, but it is for a good deal of them. Also, think of all the money we would save if all murderers received the death penalty, to be carried out within 30 days of sentencing, and by a lead bullet, not an expensive cocktail of “humane” drugs! Besides, the lead bullet between the eyes would ensure instantanous death, not several minutes.

When I was growing up – there were only 3 TV channels so we only got breaking new alerts and local news. But, perhaps the times have changed as I remember that we never locked the doors to our house, or locked the car – often we even left the keys in the car overnight.
