Chilling Vid: MO Tornado Victim Cries Out to Jesus While Huddled in Store Freezer

The video below is absolutely terrifying. It’s from a Joplin, MO convenience story and captures patrons as they huddled together for safety inside a walk-in freezer. Because the storm, the video is blacked out but the audio is clear. One man can be heard saying he “loves everybody” while another woman cries out to Jesus:

I just hope that Aaron and others like him realize this!

Haha you mean the eeevil capitalist exploiter of working class and oppressor of peoples of funnyeh color?
I wonder how soon evolution will exterminate left-wing radicalism from the human psyche. Maybe a little artificial selection will help that ‘natural selection’ business.

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 12:06pmHow about no one reply to Aaron in Polk County as his remark need not be dignified by a response. I think he is one that when he sees the savior standing before him and after confessing Jesus is the Christ still won’t believe in him.
My prayers go out to those in Joplin and Minneapolis.

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 2:40pmWell, as an atheist who has also experienced life-threatening situations in urban “foxholes”, natural disasters and at the hands of an armed robber who, with the barrel of pistol held to my temple, informed me I was about to have my “muthaf—ing brains blown out” I can tell you; the thought of begging and groveling for intervention or mercy from some sky god never crossed my mind.
When situations like that occur you operate on adrenaline-fueled instinct and not faith or, for that matter, reason.
cheers

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 11:33pmGeesh man what a cynic. I spent about 28 years of my life as an athiest. Somehow God got through this hardened cynical heart and spoke to me first about the fact that He is ALIVE and then about His love for me – a guy who did not deserve anyone’s love. I was a selfish and self serving man who was as empty. He started showing me myself and soon I was on my knees asking His forgiveness and I was not in a church – I was at work in a dark room at Kodak. He came into my life that day and believe me THAT was one powerful day in my life. I have never been the same.
Ask God if He’s alive. Go ahead. I dare you. Or stick your fingers in an electrical outlet. You’ll find out electricity is real. So is God. He doesn’t lower himself to try to convince our minds….he deals with our spirit! Only and forever. Because He is Pure Spirit! Go ahead. Ask Him if He’s alive. You‘ll get a spiritual jolt you’ll never forget.

Posted on May 25, 2011 at 6:17pmJesus never said that crying out to Him would save you from death in this world; he did say, however, that we must pick up our cross and carry it through this “valley of tears”. Jesus can save our life in this world if He chooses, but most importantly He can bring us into everlasting life with Him for eternity. The problem with some people is they won’t humble themselves and Gods everlasting mercy and grace will never find Its way into their hearts. This is more tragic than all the tornados combined! Eternity is a long time to reflect on what they have lost and all the chances they had to just trust in He who died for us all!!

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 1:49pm@maylou,
What is more likely?
A. The well reinforced freezer was strudy enough to withstand the winds and they were lucky and smart enough to get inside it just in time
or
B. Just by repeating his name, Jesus came down and directed the tornado away from them?
If B is the correct answer then why didn’t Jesus direct the tornado away from Joplin and save EVERYONE? What caprice! What about the people who were killed who, no doubt, begged the same beseechment?
—————————–
It is in very poor taste to use disasters like these as a “proof” for metaphysical and intervening deities. I feel sullied and dirtied to have to point that out.
—
I wish the people of Joplin goodwill and hope they can find the strength within themselves to overcome and rebuild after this terrible tragedy. Life is very unfair and only with the help, love and care of your fellow primates can this veil of tears be made bearable.
All my best to those who are suffering.

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 2:31pmOne thing atheists never admit is that their atheism requires faith. Ask them this simple question: Were you there when the world was created?
It takes a fantasy-like faith to believe nothing created an explosion that then created millions of species of animals, plants, humans that developed machines, computers, and this very wi-fi network I am communicating through.
Now that, my friends, takes some faith.

Posted on May 23, 2011 at 11:01amWow, all in about 5 minutes, how life can change. This is amazing thank God they were ok. If people don’t think that judgement is not being served upon this country with all the natural disasters and flooding, fires that is going on then I feel sorry for them. It might not be the end of the world but what will it take for God to get our attention?!! What will it take? Are we a nation that does not believe, that we will miss clear signs and turn our hearts and minds to ourselves. What must God do to turn our hearts back towards Him? Must he destory our nation so badly that nothing is left before we look to HIm as a nation and humble ourselves? *** The Fear of the Lord is the begining of Wisdom, and according to Proverbs 8:13 “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate” So just fearing what God can do to us in not the true fear of the Lord. To fear God is to hate (not just dislike but to hate) evil. I wonder if we will ever understand this before God does bring so much upon us that. Gay Marriage, Abortion, Being a nation of Debt, Taking God out of our schools, …. Have we temped God and raise our fist up to Him and said stay out of our affairs? Do we have the courage to humble ourselves before Him and pray for His forgiveness and Mercy, or has pride harden our hearts and blinded our eyes to the Lord? Lots of questions, May God have Mercy!

Report Post »I often wonder why militant atheists like you are unable to recognize the fascistic tone of your comments. Your race cleansing advocacy is appalling, and yet your are completely unashamed of it. Folks like you at the turn of the century tried to remove what they perceived as defects from the human race. They believed they were doing good, just as you also believe that removing people of faith from the human race would raise us to a higher level of awareness and consciousness. Even more revealing, though, is the narcissism that drips from your words — it indicates a troubled individual whose sense of moral superiority has blinded you to the path of tolerance, and is pointing you towards fascistic oppression of people of faith. You’re a sad little individual whose very troubled mind is in serious need of some counseling.

Prayer does actually work. Even if you don’t believe in a supreme being (which I do), your thoughts have energy and power. Science is also beginning to understand this more fully. Channeling and directing your thoughts in a positive and constructive way most certainly can alter emotional well-being at the least, and many would argue that it has a very real effect on the altering of your situation itself.
As the for the lady screaming “Jesus! Jesus!” that’s not my cup of tea either. I find it annoying and spiritually malnourished. I wouldn‘t go so far as to say that she’s taking the Lord’s name in vain, but I certainly would not call that a prayer. It seems like she was simply using it as an exclamatory substitution….nothing constructive whatsoever about screaming Jesus in peoples‘ ears while they’re trying to communicate with loved ones, offer meaningful heartfelt prayers, and trying to be productive in a crisis situation. But who am I to judge another when I walk imperfectly?
