That always makes me wonder. They call for riots, but the people they want to riot won’t even work. What exactly makes the left think that they WILL rise up? Actually getting up off the couch and protesting that I’m not being told what to do enough by the government?

That’s just WAY too much effort for them.

I keep hearing about people rising up because of the injustice. How about the part of society who are outraged of the injustice of government employee unions and those who are constantly demanding more from the government, which means more from the taxpayers. Obama’s minster saying that the haves and the have-mores need to share with the have-nots or there will be revolution. Those who have worked hard all of their lives need to give what they have gained to those who have hardly worked at all.
What I would like to see is that when all of these “revolutionaries” who rise up demanding more from everyone else in society are met by those who have been busting their butts to get ahead telling them that enough is enough. NO MORE.

We could hope for the ghetto dwellers rioting, burn downing their own homes and grocery stores remember the riots of LA? This time just leave it after the riots to rot. It will quickly be like Haiti, when they leave the inner city to cause problems. I got an AR-15 with a quad rail load, my son has an AK-47
with clip load with teflon coated rounds for moving vehicles.. So bring your gang bang pistol, and all your friends, only thing you know is holding your pistol Hollywood Style and talking s*^@. Like you to meet “clown down” at 200yards. Don’t riot in my yard, if you do, good luck your gonna need it.

My question is where are all these Leftists going to get their money for bullets, etc., if they are on welfare? And, conservatives understand that rioting is NOT the solution. Obama & Co. WANT the riots so he can declare martial law, send Congress home, and take over the country.

To say that this country is being divided because of RACE is insane. It’s not about race; it’s about a putative president being a Marxist trying to overthrow the government. Oh, how he must be salivating at the thought!

I want this 11 year old girl ON MY SIDE!!!

    BUTTE, MONTANA

Shotgun preteen vs. Illegal alien Home Invaders…

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11-year-old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their
    two-story home.
It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay-shooting champion since she was nine.
Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father’s room and grabbed his
    12-gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old’s knee-crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds
    to his abdomen and genitals.

When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death
    before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45-caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David 0′Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.

Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news………?

An 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her home, and herself……against two murderous, illegal immigrants…….and she wins,
    She is still alive.

    Now THAT is Gun Control!

    Thought for the day….
    Calling an illegal alien an
    ‘undocumented immigrant’
is like calling a drug dealer an
    ‘unlicensed pharmacist’

I like this kind of e-mail! American citizens defending themselves and their homes.

IF YOU’RE A TRUE AMERICAN PASS THIS ON, IF YOU’RE AGAINST NOT PROTECTING OUR BORDERS DELETE THIS MESSAGE

The proof of this is that she killed two minority males, shooting one in the genitals, an obvious display of racial hatred”. “In addition the parents of the girl should be investigated for child endangerment for leaving her access to a dangerous firearm”.

To murdering criminals break into the house where a 11 yr old girls is home alone. She defended herself and home and two murderers have been removed from society. Good for her and her family.

Is that what you’re saying? I should just hand it out to people who have been slackers their entire life and who didnt work hard to earn any money? If it offends anyone out there that I want to keep the money I earn and not give it away to freeloaders, so be it! We pay enough in taxes already Mr Rev to support entitlement programs. And then we are supposed to give more money to people already getting entitlements? Wow, anyone who believes in this kind of wealth redistribution has some serious problems!

“God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty . . . And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”-Thomas Jefferson.

Liberals are great at attempting to foment violence and anarchy…but they are always from the “Big hat, no cattle” school of action. If it’s civil unrest they want, it‘s civil unrest they’ll get…but the outcome won’t be what they want or expect.

I am fairly poor. My wife and I never got to finish college. There was no inheritance for me or my wife. We pay a modest mortgage and have a two year old Honda(nice car!). Lately we are always short. We owe no credit cards or big loans, but the mortgage and car. I got emergency food stamps once about 30 years ago, have never drawn unemployment. Have never sued anyone. We have very little in the way of retirement. I’ve been a musician and construction worker for all my life…under the table type of work for the most part.
We pay our taxes and go for the biggest returns we can get, of course. We have no cushion, and if things go the way they have been, we may be screwed.
We have never asked for anything of govt. We would like it if we could be left to our selves to continue on in the grace of our Lord Jesus.
What are the realistic chances of that happening? slight to slim, I’d have to say.

(I posted this exact same post on another thread, but found this thread to be more appropriate)

Folks, I don’t post often… just a couple of times. So, for the record, let me clearly state… I am an ultra conservative… fiscal conservative…

Perhaps I have lost a bit of hope in the system… perhaps I have lost a bit of hope in the process… but as I study world history… a few things ring true to me.

People like George Soros/et al, are not going away any time soon. They will continue their destruction. And while we have great patriots like West rise up… they will be spending countless hours/weeks/months/years battling these progressive pukes rather than assisting the country’s citizens attain what is constitutionally ours.

Now, with that said… I truly believe that it is time, just as in the case of India and Germany (just two examples of successful separation) that we divide the US states and start anew. Give the freaking liberals the North and West (all progressives), and we take the South… and then we get to work.

Now, before I start getting the hate mail… When India gave Pakistan their own country, India went on to unprecedented prosperity. Pakistan has gone on to… obscurity and poverty… along with being a terrorist state. When Germany divided (regardless of the war), West Germany went on to greatness… and East Germany went on to poverty.

Folks, lets give the progressives what they want. They can have all the obamacare/ss/med – social welfare programs they want. Uncle George Soros and all his budies can give all their money to fund this great experiment… well, until they run out of money… as this “new country” would have nearly zero actual producers… as they hate to work.

Now, before the rest of you begin to think that this is just a stupid post… think about it… Texas has wished to secede from the Nation for sometime… as have other states.

Think about it… would we rather have this debate for the next 20/30/50 years… or would we rather start anew… with a purpose and an undeniable clarity of the mistakes we can never afford to make again? I am for the latter. I don’t want to support social welfare programs any longer… I don’t wish to be called a racist any longer… I don’t wish to support massive government any longer… I just want my freedom.

I would be seriously interested to hear others opinions on what I am suggesting.

    DivideTheNation

P.S. Even if the Republicans win in 2012… this doesn’t stop the madness. We need to begin anew with people of a like mind. No, utopia will not be created… but our chances of success moving forward would increase by a factor of 10x… without the baggage. Cut the liberal progressives loose now.

P.P.S. Yes, it would be a pain in the @ss logistically… and there would be a lot of headaches and sacrifice… but in the end I truly think that it would have the long-term benefits we all desire. History is on our sides… really… look at other countries that have cut their baggage loose. (lets please debate this).

Reasonability – we began with few states… added a state here… added a state there. With these added states, we also inherited progressive ideals. We would be a country… a country that stands for something… a constitution that we stand by. Look what they are talking about… riots… riots for what? To get “US” to pay for “THEM.” This is it. How long do we let this last? When do we change things? What election is going to change 1/2 the country’s citizens mentality? I don’t see it changing…

After a total blowout election you suggest dividing the Nation? I don’t believe that is necessary. The political restructuring of the Nation is happening as we speak, and has been happening since the election of 2008. I believe there will be a pre-Obama era and a post-Obama era. This is the time of the awakening of the sleeping giant, when their entire propaganda machine is destroyed, the truth finally becomes dominant in society, and the Nation adapts for the future. Look where the Country is now vs 5 years ago. How many times have you heard people talking about the Constitution in the last 2 years vs the last 10 years. Patience my friend, backbones are stiffening all across the Country and the leftists are scared to death. It is because of their fear they are calling for violence from their armies of socialist war pigs, 100 years of work to get to this point and they are in a now or never situation. When “We The People” have the truth the We will make the right choice between Freedom and Slavery, We always have and We always will.

They are so far in debt handing out money to anyone who asks. A few years ago they ran a campaign for more people to apply for WIC because they had a surplus. My neighbor who has a $300,000 home ,a job and a husband with a job(when he feels like working) and 2 children, not only collected WIC but also recieved free oil for heat and part of their electric bill paid. WHILE HER HUSBAND COLLECTED UNEMPLOYMENT THEY BOUGHT A BOAT! I stopped speaking to them when they tried to convince me what a good president Howard Dean would be!

The problem is the HEADS are in control, and at this point there is only one way to get them out, IMO. 2012 will tell if voting still works. If I am right, by then the revolutionaries will have consolidated power, and we will be doomed to live under communism until the country is depleted of all its resources.

I think it’s a great idea. Segregation works. Not only is it effective in race relations, but in political relations as well. We have to stop forcing this silly, foolish and dangerous idea of “coexisting”. It’s nonsense and only leads to the major social and PC problems that we face today.
However, as nice as it sounds, it’s not very realistic.

The fact of the matter is, we have to kill them. Plain and simple. It’s the only resolve to our problem thats both realistic and possible. Unfortunately, we need a little anarchy and civil unrest so the average American Joe has the so-called “good reasoning” he needs to pick up arms and start to clean up society. We need this lefty revolution to take shape, it’s our excuse to take out the trash, so let it happen.

First off I am a stout conservative. Interesting post but probably not feasible. There are liberal states in the south, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia are iffy. So now those states are surrounded by Conservative states. What do you do there? How do you handle Defense, Immigration, etc. Look at how Emperor Ming aka George Soros got his tentacles into the entire country, How do you stop that? The north is dependent on commodities from the south and wall street trades those commodities. If the south ceases trade with the north and trades directly with overseas countries Wall street will fail again. This is basically what led up to the civil war. It was all about the money and survival not slavery.

Great debate… thank you for the thoughts.

LMY655 – Military: First, I am not a politician… and while there are people much smarter than I that could come up with terrific solutions (just as they did in Germany & India), I do have many of my own ideas. I think that the military could definitely be apportioned properly… and along ideals. No, I don’t see states having having to fend for themselves.

I do have patience, but the liberals are not going anywhere… they are parasites… so they require a host. We are that host. Yes, I am thrilled by the November results… and while I see some momentum… I don’t think we have even come close to seeing the worst.

When is a good time to employ such a drastic path? Never…

However, at what point do you say enough is enough…?

While I have faith in our spirit… I don’t have faith that those wishing for its demise… and they seem to be willing to stop at nothing. Folks, this is more than a philosophical debate with the progressives… they want the Republic as we once knew it to be a distant memory and no longer a part of history.

At what point do we say… “there must be a better way to end this division?” I don’t know the answers… but this seems to me to be a legitimate path.

Your idea — secession — is a pretty radical solution to our problems but it is not a silly or even unthinkable solution…I have a different way of approaching the secession notion: make the Liberal states secede…make them form their own People’s Union while the rest of the country reverts to more conservative (with or without the Capital C) form of self-government built entirely around the Constitution.

Set up a transition period during which people may work out land & asset swaps so that they may emigrate from one area to another…for example, Liberals in Austin, Texas might prefer to live in Massachusetts while the few Conservatives in Mass. might want to live in traditionally conservative Texas…set up a mechanism whereby the resident/owner of a $500K Boston row house could trade it to a Texan who has 10 acres and a three-bedroom split ranch worth roughly the same …

The idea, of course, is to find ways to ease the pains associated with removing Liberals and Progressives and the potentially violent LeftRabble from our midst…my notions of how to do accomplish this task might well be too simplistic but I believe we can let the Left have their own place while the rest of us get on with the business of Liberty and properity.

Our side would end up with 38-to-42 states…they’d get 20-percent of the population, the Northeast & New England, perhaps Michigan, Illinois & Ohio, and all of the West Coast…

If we can’t resolve this culture war without violence then perhaps letting the Left go their own way is the best solution.

Sorry but dividing the nation is the wrong way to go…….UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL!!! If we divide America, we LOSE America……..be patient people, there are still alot of Americans who do not realize how close we are to civil war…..unfortunately they are the ones, who do not know what they have until they lose it, and they are about to start losing it.
I hope they do start rioting because first and foremost, unlike Europe, where rioting idiots are free to riot in the streets and the peaceful people are unable to stop them, we here in America, WE THE PEOPLE, that is, ARE ARMED and will protect ourselves and our properties…..I said the other day, any of these punks who riot, come near any of my property, I will introduce them to Mr.’s AK and Magnum, and of course Mr. 9mm.
Secondly, they will not get the results these idiots, Piven, Jones, etc, think they will get, they think there are enough of them to defeat WE THE PEOPLE…….there are NOT. Remember people WE SURROUND THEM, not just in D.C. but across this great nation.
Third, as I’ve said on these threads before, the progressive socialists, are doing what every enemy to America has always done…..They are underestimating our SPIRIT and INDEPENDENCE, like England, Japan, Germany, etc. they think once they start their attack we will just lay down and give up, we know how that turned out . These idiots leading this are NOT AMERICANS, they were born here, but they are not us! They can never understand this Patriotism, because they don’t have any. It is because they do not understand this, that they will fail, Soros has no allegiance to anything but the almighty dollar, he even screwed his own people to survive and become rich.
No, again, UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL!!!! Stay together people and we will prevail, it our might that will save America for future generations, not just alittle piece of America, but ALL of America!!!

@Dividethenation: I think Putin has predicted this very thing happening. While it seems ridiculous at first, it may eventually come down to that. Another Civil War? God, I pray not. I am a Southerner, and I believe firmly and in my heart that the South was always justified. What most Yankees don’t know and were never taught is that had civil war not broken out when it did, that some of the southern states had bills in their state legislature to reimburse slave owners and return the slaves to Africa (Liberia). The lliberals today teach that that was inhumane and as unjust as slavery. There are arguments for/against it, but since so many black Americans today seem to want to maintain their Africanism, there American citizenship doesn’t seem very important to them and they would be happier being Africans. Actually, I’ve become convinced they just want to be more powerful than whites today, and the socialists/commies are using these naive blacks to achieve their goals. Once they do so, the underprivileged blacks will be the first to suffer. The fools, and those who gave the illiterate the power to vote so their votes could be bought, are rapidly bringing this nation down.

Dividing the nation is unrealistic only because we would have to fight foreign and domestic enemies at the same time. Progs would not give up their source of livelihood, i.e., conservative America, so civil war would ensue. We cannot fight a civil war and win our war against jihadists.

I’ve seen this before. The populace is being instigated by a commie elite. Get rid of them, and they cease to be a threat. Selective targeting is the key, but that has to be accomplished by the experts. It’s not We the People (civil war) that is needed, if you catch my drift.

LMY6545 – I do disagree with you on all points. First, what would we be isolating ourselves from? Socialists? Communists? In that case, yes we would. We would not be isolating ourselves from anything positive or productive.

Second, the only nails in any coffins are the ones we continually pound on a daily basis by trying to fight for our own freedom from within our own country. Sounds silly doesn’t it? Well, that is what we do day-in and day-out. We have destructive legislation passed on a daily basis. We have liberal Supreme Court Justices that could care less about what the Constitution says. We have elected officials that have never read the Constitution, much less care for any of our personal freedoms.

What do we wait for? What event is the turning point? When do we say “you know… I truly think our Republic doesn’t stand a chance with over 150,000,000 people that believe in a socialist agenda?”

I for one want to rid ourselves of these people… give them what they want… and they can manage themselves into the depths of despair… but I for one don’t want to be on that ship.

I‘m not much of a cut n’ paste guy, but I just finished posting along this line in the “Allen West” discussion – it seems to fit here also, with some editing applied.

Technicly, we’re arriving at the 3rd American Revolution. For all the same reasons. A peaceable separation was attempted in 1861, we know the result. Or, maybe we really didn’t know the result until the entire nation began to suffer the consequences of what was truly lost.

“a house divided against itself cannot stand”, has been the rallying cry of the defenders of the Union in relation to slavery. In fact, it was a rallying cry to remove the obstacles limiting unchecked central control of our nation. The states were impeding the Federal Government, exactly as the Founders intended. It was a necessary division of sovereignty to place real checks on the tendency of either entity to become tyrannical.

I do not want to see a repeat of 1861. I do want a repeat of the proper constitutional authority of both the Federal and state governments, as originally drafted by the Founders. That being a division of soveriegnty at the state level. This, if left as it should have been, would do exactly what you propose and would have been effective in limiting the fiscal damage being done to our entirety. This concept would have also limited the social experimentation of the states within their respective borders to be judged appropriately by other states in adoption. These things should have never been the dictate of the Federal government over us all.

I would agree with you in the nation needing a division, but my division would be nothing new – it would be returning our nation back to its first principles. If the past 150 years had been undertaken with states self-responsible for their fiscal actions, as the founders intended, I cannot help but believe that this socialist idealology would have been disproven long ago. And that “birds of a feather” would have flocked together in freedom to exercise thier notions of governance inside the states of their chosen residency. And, would have been solely responsbile for the result of thier actions without placing the greater Nation in such jeopardy.

The actual split occurring in 1861 had a great deal to do with Federal taxes going to retire the debts incurred by individual states. Ironicly, many of the same states who are on the verge of coming to the table for a bailout in our time, were the ones in deep fiscal trouble in 1861. Had the war not occured, and Lincoln had not gained the power of printing “greenbacks”, these states would have been left to themselves to deal with their debts.

I’ll fully admit to having travelled down this path myself and when able to look beyond the topic of slavery, found myself becoming “unreconstructed” and understanding what compelled so many southerners to stand up and fight in that time. I’ll leave you with this letter from a Confederate soldier who died at Gettysburg, recently published in a NC newspaper:

“My lovely wife. I do so miss you, and the life we have there on the small plot of land God has given us. More and more, it seems that my thoughts are drifting back there to reside with you. Yet, as badly as I desire to be back home, it is for home for which I deem it best for my presence here with these other men. The proclamation by the Lincoln administration six months prior may appear noble. Were I here in these conditions, simply to keep another man in bondage, I would most certainly walk away into the night and return unto you. God knows my heart, and the hearts of others here amongst me. We know what is at stake here, and the true reason for this contest that requires the spilling of the blood of fellow citizens. Our collective fear is nearly universal. This war, if it is lost, will see ripples carry forward for five, six, seven or more generations. I scruple not to believe, as do the others, that the very nature of this country will be forever disspirited. That one day, our great great grandchildren will be bridled with a federal bit, that will deem how and if they may apply the gospel of Christ to themselves, their families and their communities. Whether or not the land of their forefathers may be deceitfully taken from them through taxation and coercion. A day where only the interests of the northern wealthy will be shouldered by the broken and destitute bodies of the southern poor. This my darling wife, is what keeps me here in this arena of destruction and death.”

I hope that letter haunts everybody as much as it does me. It only takes the revision of 4 words to bring this long-gone soldiers words to clarity today. Words that actually apply across the gulf of time represented.

      Obama=Lincoln
      poverty=bondage
      northern wealthy=Socialistic Democrats

I say, “LONG LIVE JEFFERSON DAVIS”. @DIVID… I do not believe whether it will be up for debate or not. I believe destiny has already been written for us. You do not need to be Nostradamus to predict the future, you just need wisdom. Today people have confused intelligence with wisdom, just because you are smart does not mean you are wise. Wise men of the past that have predicted the future all understood one basic principle, and that is, “REASON”, and understood how the laws of the universe worked. It can be best explained with one word “ANTONYMS”. The fact that you cannot have one without the other is the one thing Liberals can not except, and has in the past and will be in the future their demise. For some reason they have this notion that all men are equal, yes they maybe created equal, but then free will steps in and the strong survive and the weak parish. This is a law of nature that will never be concord. If you pay close attention you will notice that Liberals are the minority and are weak in one way or another. They cannot argue against reason and logic and for this reason they constantly change the argument, redefine words, and drift from the facts. Mr. Bill likes to call it the Spin Zone. Now, if you do a little research you will find that secession has already started. Look at all of the states that are financially underwater right now. You will also notice that family’s and businesses are moving out of these states. The North East and the West Coast is the Liberal Nation. “MARK MY WORDS”, There will big big trouble when these liberal states ask for bail outs by the fiscally responsible states. A final note to all of my brothers and sisters, I’ll meet you in Texas, and I will stand with all who share the principles this Country was founded on…

Even if we could do it and live in peace with the parasites it wouldn’t last, they would ultimately attack our success out of envy and laziness.

The reason the european uprisings are gaining steam is that none of those countries has a Second Amendment. What is happenning over there right now could NEVER happen here. This strategy of dividing the country into “Progressive states” and “Constitutional states”, although it’s a seductive idea, will never work. Progressives want whatever someone else has. They want to control what others do. They won’t be satisfied with a few states. They will keep right on trying to co-opt and conquer. This would simply hand them a partial victory and encourage & hearten them to persist until they control it all.

      Appeasement??

      NEVER!!

      @Dividethenation
That strategy won’t work. You do understand the enemy from within are COMMIES, don’t you? Commies never concede territory. On the contrary, they are imperialistic by nature. Selective targeting has another name I don’t want to use here, but you missed my point if you think it is peaceful. Unfortunately not. I am hoping against hope that I am wrong and there is still a peaceful way of resolving this commie takeover. Selective targeting is not just for govt. It gets rid of the plague — which by definition has spread everywhere — but it goes after the elite. This strategy HAS worked, and actually it works for the left as well. That leads me to a second point, which is that if we don’t use this strategy, the left most certainly will. Glenn will be one of the targets.

Dividethenation, India and Germany are two poor examples of successful secessions. I can’t go into details here, but you do know that Germany was a “spoils nation,” and the Soviets got the East before anyone really understood communism. In other words, East Germany never WANTED to secede. The reuniting of Germany was the end of a long nightmare for East Germany.

The India-Pakistan split is a different story, but strictly speaking, Pakistan did not secede either. When the Brits left amidst warring factions within the colony, the Empire agreed to split the Muslim and Buddhist factions to end the internal warfare. So it was really a political divide of a colony transitioning to independence. So instead of one, two new countries were simultaneously born. (Secession did occur in 1971, when Bangladesh gained independence from Pakistan, with the help of India.)

Predictably the politico-religious divide never satisfied the Pakistanis/Muslims. As we all know, Muslims are ALSO imperialists by nature, so they will continue to fight to gain Kashmir, and ultimately, all of India. Just wait and see. Once the Taliban take over Pakistan, thanks to the poor handling of the Traitor-in-Chief, the conflict with India will escalate.

Even if we divided, when the conservative states were growing and doing great, we would then have the socialist, communist, progressives, see what we have created and done….and move to take it from us. And we start the battle once again.

Very nice premise which is some what agreeable but would only aid the socialist/progressive agenda in the end. There is a lot of truth in what you wrote but I do not see any ‘answer’, just a separation or split of a country.

If we want to return to what the United States is and who we the people are, I think what we need to do is actually hold the constitution to its words and meanings without letting the progressives twist the actual meanings. We have a wonderful document that tells us who and what we are. There is no need to change that. In my opinion we need to do a few things, simple in statement, but difficult in process. They are:

      - Get the bible/God back into the education system
      - Educate the people/children the Constitution – it is our heritage
      - Remove the progressives/socialist from our system whether be by vote or armed revolution
      - Vote in the people who understand the Constitution as it was written, not as a open for ‘interpretation’ document
      - Tighten the borders until one can hear them squeak – then enforce the law
      - Hold others accountable – with punishment (not like it is now where touchy feely emotions rule)
      - Put people back to work. (Does anybody remember the CCC??) It worked!
      - Adjust and revamp our monetary system and with that our tax codes. (Not as hard as it sounds)
      - Let other countries be other countries (Its not up to us for them to stay afloat)
      - Get rid of environmental regulations that helped put us in this downward spiral.
      - Completely loose the ONE WORLD ORDER thing. We are a country in a world made up of many countries. Consolidation will not work. ( I’m willing to be the odd man out!!!)

How long do we wait? One generation? Two? Five? I don’t have the answers… I just know that what I see now pretty much sucks… and I don’t see the progressives moving to the side any time soon.

Now, let’s assume that we accomplish our goal of a constitutionally run government… which the pessimistic side of me does not believe under current conditions… then what do the progressives do at that point… just sit on the sidelines and cheer us on? No… they continue to hate. They continue to cause discontent. Conversely, if they were in their own country… they can create all the discontent they want… and the second that they try to create issues for us… our recourse is fundamentally different… the cards would definitely be in our favor.

Listen folks… would this be easy? Hell no. Would it be a “fun” exercise? Not even close… but what are the true options? Tons of blood in the streets? If things come to that… it would take a long time to rebuild. I don’t have the answers… I just have lots of questions.

Only four states that I can think of were independent countries before becoming part of the USA: California (very briefly), Texas, Hawaii and Vermont.

These might also be the best candidates for initiating the secession process.

California because, as is often pointed out, even in its present distress it still has an economy bigger than all but seven or eight independent countries.

      Texas because–well, because it’s Texas.

(Would–or could–the rump of the US fight to stop California or Texas secession?)

Hawaii, because of its remote island location, its large and resurgent native population and traditions, and because Obama might make a good President of Hawaii, once he is stripped of his American citizenship.

Vermont, the most interesting case of all: Bill O’Reilly has suggested that Vermont secession would not be unwelcome to all real partiots, our only avowedly socialist Senator represents Vermont, and Vermont was the first state to endorse the abomination (as some would have it) of homosexual civil unions.

It also has a higher proportion of gun owners than North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona or Texas; though today’s Vermont secessionists seem to be mostly a peaceful lot, they do recall Ethan Allen and his crew from time to time.

      @Divide

You definitely got the debate your asked for. I read through as many responses as I could until my head began to throb. It is certainly an idea I had floating around in my head for several years. The answer always come back to me “Why Not”. A Russian named Panarin predicts that this very thing will happen with or without our wanting it to. Observing our past elections anyone with eyes to see with can see that we are a closely divided nation right down the line on most all issues.

      The right/left paradigm is exposed.

Taking back America is already apparent some write with the last elections. For how long? When the people feel lazy again. The only way to keep what we all want is to have a separate nation State which the ideas we share can be enacted and enforced. We come back to our Constitution which was supposed to do just that.

So we are talking about a purging through separation. Lets make it simple: Everybody who believes in a republic run on conservative ideas please come to Texas for example. Texas then declares itself a sovereign State. No feds allowed! We have been through this before and it ended in massive bloodshed. Would we care if the world recognized us as a separate entity? What outside support would there be? The founders had in the beginning France backing us up with what little they could offer. Who would back Texas? Germany? Why does there have to be a United States. Why couldn’t we have a State that declares independance?

Other States would have to join in but you still would have progs within your borders. Your State would be and isolated and driven into extinction through blockades of trade from the outside even if it could get acceptance as an independent State. There are many problems with this just mentioning a few. The biggest one is that most Americans minds have been poisened by the culture. Your new nation State would fail because the youth of today are not programmed for what you ask. We may get the chance to find out wether we want it or not. Nations don’t get divided unless turmoil and bloodshed of monumental proportions. Its only in these times of chaos and hardship that the lines in a persons mind become crystal clear and are long lasting.

When people move from state to state these days, they are doing so mainly because the values are in decline and therefore the crime is on the rise. Nobody wants to raise their children in that environment, so they move. We have a name for it in California its called White Flight. I live in a community that was founded primarially by Whites who fled the LA and San Diego areas, but within 15 short years it has become a bastion of multi-culture. We had low crime to none and you could leave your doors unlocked at night and the keys in the car. Not now! Crime up and murder too. Why?

I keep asking myself that pesky question. Why?

      @unreconstructed,
Kudos. You are by far my favorite poster on this website. To add to what you said; a pragmatic approach is to start taking back power on a state level. It is much easier to influence state legislators and a governor than it is to influence politicians on a federal level. The states need to start whipping out the constitution and saying NO when the federal government oversteps. But also, they need to start politely declining the federal money that always comes with strings attached. Hard to do, I know. But legislators and governors need to do it, at the request of their constituents. Slowly, states can strip away the overreaching power that the federal government has given itself. And the states that don’t want to do this can continue to spiral downward into poverty and collapse. But the other states don’t have to bail them out, and with the proper leadership, won’t. This means electing governors who are radically bare bones constitutionalists, which is hard to do. But it can be done. If we fight this on a state and local level, it becomes an easier and more approachable fight.

So, do we keep our fingers crossed that when we win the 2012 elections that we are able to tame this country’s liberals… keep them contained… and all will be good?

I guess I just see the conflict… and the energy spent fighting amongst ourselves versus focusing our collective energy on more productive issues. Sheesh, just look at this thread.

Again, I don’t proclaim to have any of the answers… shoot… even in this thread there have been brilliant suggestions… I just know that I am sick of it… I find listening to people like Mr. Weiner insulting… yes… just to hear his pathetic condescending voice.

So, what do we do? You know that “we” can do great things… so what do “we” do? I see the Tea Party as a great thing… but I also know that without a focus, the objectives become diluted. We need a focus that we all get behind… then push that objective to fruition… come on folks… you are all very bright… what’s next… what do we do?

Thanks for your kind comments in my behalf.

I completely agree with your solution to the problem. The states will have to wean themselves from the government teat and stand on their own.

We spend alot of time discussing federal level politicians, but the most important races are those in our states. These are the leaders who would begin to bring the situation back into proper balance.

Nullfication is more useful right now than outright secession, but we need state governments strong enough to take that stand. With Judge Hudson’s recent decision against Obamacare, we learned that the Constitution is still just that – the Constitution. The states need to hold the Federal government more accountable to our founding document.

I am very much in favor of Cuccinelli’s “Virginia Amendment” to the US constitution, which would require a 2/3 majority of the states to enact any law of the congress. Its worth a review here on The Blaze just to see Chris Matthew’s reaction. Its the Progressive’s worst nightmare that the states should reassert their rightful powers, because they know they are outnumbered.

      To:Divide the Nation,
That is what we are precisely trying to do here over in the (Aloha State) Hawaii. It is called the Hawaiian Sovereign Movement. If you know any history of Hawaii, at one time the islands were ruled under the authority of its people under a monarchy. But then in 1893 Queen Lilioukalani was overthrown by a provisional government composed of mainly wealthy Indo-European land owners/sugar cane barons.Grover Cleavland our president at the time was friends with the queen. He didn’t want this to happen, but sadly so annexation was acheived and Hawaii became a territory and eventually the 50th state. You can read the historical details re: Hawaii @ wikipedia web site.I said this to make my point, and by the way, I agree with you’re Idea. We are in the process of trying to secede as I speak. The sovereign movement has already gone to Washington to try to make headway and if we are successful we will be self sustaining. Sounds like a pipe dream but we are trying. My daughter lived in Alaska for some time. You know what folks up there call the mainland (lower 48) ? If they are getting ready to leave the state temporarily for business, etc. ” I’m leaving to go out-doors”. Folks get my point we are all americans but some of these so called “americans” have ideas that have morphed into a strange doctrine, alien to what we stand for as a country. What happened to Hawaii is what will happen to the US in a similar way,if we don’t come up with a solution “they” will chip a way at the U.S. constitution, take away our rights and overthrow our Gv’t.The constitution runs our government not Washington and that is what the “elitists” are aiming for..destroying our constitution.

This would be way too much like working hard, sacrificing, and employeeing innovation….you know, the qualities that make you successful in life to begin with. No, unless someone ‘redistributed’ the riot or the government provided a proxy for them that would riot on their behalf…I don’t see the whole riot thing happening on a large scale.

Really, what would you expect from a society relying on everything from the “Nanny State”. If your successful, your an enemy cause you don‘t want to share your wealth with those who don’t want to work and expect, or demand, that you give your money to the state and they will re-distribute this.
I find it real funny and surreal, none of these progressives seem to look at their own so-called leaders who are extremely wealthy, John Kerry, George Soros, the Clintons, Obama, Pelosi, etc, as problems because they want to take others money just not theirs.
And this stupidity about tax cuts for the wealthy is such a crock, it wouldn’t have mattered if they extended them or not cause the way the tax system is rigged, those who are wealthy get all the deductions due to their lobbyists and special interest friends getting them placed in the tax code. What would happen if the tax code were to be totally revamped and everyone paid their fair share of a percentage of income, whether you are working or not. Get rid of all these crazy made up deductions and tax breaks and get a fair tax and you’d be surprised how much the government would have to waste, or I mean spend, on OUR behalf. I don’t know about anyone else, but I have really become sick and tired of working two jobs, over 60-70 hours a week, to see my money taken by the government redistributed to others who don’t want to work and expect everything be given to them.

If Obama, the UN, and the EU are to achieve the “dreams of my father” (Soros) before 2012 and they must, then wide spread “civil unrest” must happen soon so governments will be forced to take severe actions to save the people from themselves, not to mention rising seas and global climate disruptions!

Clearly, the Progressives are becoming much more desperate. They can see the writing on the wall… After 50 years of dominating the media, they have finally LOST their message! Thanks to the Internet, Talk Radio, and our ever-deteriorating quality of life, more and more Americans are waking up to the reality of just how much damage these Liberal policies (and lies) have caused.

PC is quickly becoming a thing of the past, false cries of “racism” no longer cut it, and this wonderful idea of erasing our borders leading to a “Global Society” and eventually, a One World Order isn’t working out so well either.

America is truly at the 11th hour…

Why attack civil service employees? First, we are not all unionized. Second, most of us make nowhere near what the media has reported as “average” salaries. And, most of us don’t get all those perks reported in the media. As a civil service employee, I personally make about half what I would in the private sector, pay for all of my health care coverage, and deploy to combat zones to support military operations.

In 50 years China will be the only super power. This Us vs us BS is a distraction from the real threat to our country which is the looting of our national wealth by the bankers and Wall Street. These people will turn us into a third world relic. Think about this. Why did we win WWII so decisively? We had the industrial might! Now where are ships being built, the steel making and all of the heavy industry going to be in 20 years? Our corporate titans are destroying us by sending everything, our engineering, software development, electronics, textiles, manufacturing, foundries, etc., etc. to China and other Asian countries. The next big war, if there is one will find us unprepared to re-establish our industrial might in time to put up any kind of resistance to a heavily industrialised, highly educated and a huge population to turn into soldiers China. Sure we can nuke them but that would mean getting nuked back and turning the planet into a cinder. Yes the threat is from within but it ain’t from a bunch of unarmed poor folk. It’s from the elite financial and business people who have a bought and paid for goverment and a quasi military police state enabling their pillage of our nation.

DEFUNDING is not the issue here. Keep your eye on the big picture. Their altimate goal is a is a socialist america and world government run by the socialist out of the United Nations. They will just re-group and come at you again from another angle. You have vote out the current president and then elect one that isn’t a progressive. You then have to bring the laws back that made it a crime to be a progressive and trade union leader. You also need to put all these socialist leaders, (George Soros etc) before a Grand Jury where they would have to defend themselves against charges of “treason”. Don’t just defund them, put them in jail. Use the laws of the land and put new ones in place to stop this from ever happening again. Defunding doesn’t go far enough.

These are illogical ramblings filled with highly charged emotive sparks . . . All the while the answers to many of their problems are right there, right in front of them. But they’re seemingly too drunk on liberalism to see their own reflections in a mirror when they stand to look at themselves and the problems that they face as human beings; that we share as human beings.

Look within liberals and you will find the greatest revolution ever that needs to be waged. But do you have the courage; or do you need an angry mob standing behind you to give you momentum and purpose, false purpose to know yourself as a traveler of dark paths that only lead to false salvation, your false identity and your temporary reality?

Having lived through the riots in CHICAGO in the 60‘s here’s what I suggest.. STAY OUT OF THE CITY.. epically the downtown area’s..or those area’s that are known for loving a good riot so they can LOOT.. The reason they head to downtown area‘s is the MEDIA will cover those that gather in the downtown areas but not in other area’s.. I think it’s going to be a RUDE awaking when they discover the so called ones that call for the revolution are the ONES that ARE THE RICH.. which should take them about a week.. THAN watch the scramble as the RICH who started this TRY to get out of the way.. Have food, water etc.. and just watch them eat each other.. My kids live outside the downtown area of CHICAGO but in the city.. they will all be heading my way at the first sign of a problem.. just be ready to LEAD and HELP.. for those who have more sense than the one the government has whacked out on Free prescription drugs..

      @dueteronomy,
good post. As for the death of industry in the us, what is the solution? It seems like such a complex problem with no real simple fix. Personally, I think we should revamp the tax code to a simple straight percentage tax for everyone, including corporate entities, with no loopholes, tax breaks, tax credits, nothing. It seems that the complexities of current tax law only make it easier for large corporations with teams of lawyers to evade taxes. But who can blame them when 50% of the country doesn’t contribute anything, and the current progressive ideology wants to make that disparity even greater? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not defending corporate tax evaders, I’m just arguing for a fairer tax system. But I’m not altogether sure that revamping the tax code is the complete solution to the problem. It’s just the only thing I can come up with based on my lack of knowledge of the corporate/business world;)

Before you start killing people you disagree with, think…If my enemy wants the top to clamp down on all of us and the way to get it is to create violence, then reacting with violence would mean they win? And doesn’t that make you a useful idiot for them?

Do not give them what they want, or we all lose. What you are seeing is nothing more then more useful idiots from the other side as the TRUE enemy is creating and passing laws thru your own Constitution to screw you. Violence will only give them more power. Don’t be an useful idiot. Think….

And what would you consider to be a realistic wage? Who should define this? Before the surge in undocumented workers swarmed the work place I had very little problem working, or finding a good non union job. Fast forward 25 years and how things have changed. Much of what is said about union workers is not true. I have to compete every day to keep my job. Senority /job protection, is only found in the most high profile contracts…auto,UPS,and of course the contracts of public workers, paid for with tax money.

Union workers or workers being organized is not the problem here, the union leadership is. Try as we might, we have not been able to better our leaders any more that we can change the way that the self serving politicians serve us.

Fed,state, city…or union leaders are about the same. The workers are just trying to support a family, but some how if you get a little dirty,or do not wear a suit to work, you are looked down upon for actually producing some thing of use.
