China Media Report Mystery Stealth Fighter Photos

China Media Report Mystery Stealth Fighter Photos
BEIJING (AP) — Photos leaked online that appear to show a prototype of China’s first stealth fighter jet were discussed in state media Wednesday — a move that supports claims the country’s military aviation program is advancing faster than expected.

Both the English and Chinese language editions of the Global Times ran front-page articles on the photos of what appears to be a future J-20 fighter, along with extensive reports on the buzz the pictures have generated overseas.

Photos of the plane appeared on unofficial military news websites and hobbyist blogs last week and were still viewable Wednesday.

The Global Times did not comment on the authenticity of the pictures, but since the government wields extensive control over state media, the report’s appearance and the fact that censors have not removed images from websites suggest a calculated move to leak the information into the public sphere.

That in turn would reflect the growing confidence of the traditionally secretive People’s Liberation Army, which is pushing for greater influence and bigger budgets.

Calls to the spokesman’s office at the Defense Ministry rang unanswered Wednesday.

China Media Report Mystery Stealth Fighter Photos

Aviation websites said the photos were taken from outside a fence at the Chengdu Aircraft Design Institute’s airfield in southwestern China. The plane appeared to be undergoing a taxiing test of the sort that precedes an actual flight test.

A future Chinese stealth fighter has long been considered an inevitability. Deputy air force chief He Weirong told state broadcaster CCTV in November 2009 that China’s fourth-generation fighter — a reference to stealth technology — would begin flight testing soon and could enter service within eight to 10 years.

China Media Report Mystery Stealth Fighter Photos

China’s aviation industry — both military and civilian — has made rapid progress in recent years but still relies heavily on imported technology. Propulsion technology has been a particular problem, with Russian engines still employed on China’s homemade J-10 fighter jets and the J-11, a copy of Russia’s Su-27 fighter jet.

Stealth technology is even more difficult to master because it relies on systems to hide the presence of the plane while equipping the pilot with enough information to attack an enemy. Emissions must be hidden and the plane’s fuselage sculpted to avoid detection by radar and infrared sensors.

Chinese progress in that field calls into question U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates’ decision to cap production of the F-22 Raptor stealth fighter at 187 planes. Supporters of the F-22 have warned of growing threats from China, as well as Russia, which has developed a stealth prototype that is already in the test flight stage.

Analysis of the J-20 photos shows it to be larger than either the Russian or U.S. planes, likely allowing it fly farther and carry heavier weapons.

Heres what I see, First off it looks like a rebuild mig, the use of canard wing tells me it’s unstable, The fuel prob is exposed, not good when trying to not reflect. The engines are not hidden so the heat is can be seen in inferred. The use of two engines could mean carrier based operations but the front landing gear doesn’t look too beefy. The rear landing gear doors seem to be wrapped in paper or cloth maybe hiding the fact they can’t get the shape correct of no radar return. Something to worry about yes, looks like they have a good start. this could just be a test plane with no plans for deployment but they have a start.

It also has a thin profile meaning weapons would be mounted outside not to stealthy with this.

It is well known that the Chinese have stolen the entire designs for the JSF or F-35. They have stolen much of their military tech. Funny how this looks like an F-35.

Yep, and about the time they field this thing, flights of 2 F-22s will be leading and directing unmanned air combat drones (UCAV) into combat. F-22s cost to much and require to much maintainance, and worst of all, carry a pilot. You will see us using AI equipted UCAVs to do the the really dangerous jobs, like missle and AA suppression, deep strike missions and blowing these Raptor copies out of the sky. Think of them as supersonic, super smart reuseable stealth cruise missles carrying air to air and air to ground munitions, all directed to targets via secure data links with the F-22. They cost a fraction of what a Raptor does, will do almost the same jobs, and don’t leave a pilot floating down to who knows what fate if shot down. We have had stealth for almost 30 years now and have used it to great advantage in three major and several minor conflicts, the other side always catches on at some point. Don’t vapor lock, somewhere out at Groom Lake, there is a little UCAV flying around doing tageting tests with live AMRAMs, encapsulated by cold plasma, using a pulse detonation engine to go Mach 6. Sucks to be them, don’t it.

It can fly farther and carry heavier weapons……if that thing is developed into a really good product over the years, everyone is at risk. When Nixon opened up China to the rest of the world, would one ever have guessed that they would end up owning America eventually? How that country has changed and developed is shocking.

Whether or not the plane can fly is anyone’s guess.
There have been huge transfer of technology fro US to the.Communist Chinese.
You think all that spy stuff that have been going on at LosAlamos w/in the last 20 -30or so years, even until recently as 3-5 yrs ago, then have been whitewashed as really much-ado about nothing is really much-ado about nothing?
This have been a massive cover-up of negligence by our government.
IMO. mucho $$ changed hands along the way..
And it’s not only the Communist Chinese.

The communist have infiltrated and been infiltrating US on a massive scale for many many moons.
These links only refer to Los Alamos. But the same have been going on in our defence industries.
Tremendous computer/computing technologies have been transfer to the Communist by American firms opening up or wanting to open up plants in China.
Of course the Communist Chinese Government signed agreements that none of these technologies would be transferred /copied over for use by their military. Of course.
The communist Chinese, like the communist Russkies always abide by the agreements they sign. of Course.
You think the private Chinese company that bought IBM is really a private company? You think the computer technology won’t be transferred to their military? That’s been done a long time ago.
A couple American companies transferred rocket technology to the Communists about 12 yrs ago. One was Motorola, I forgot the other one at this moment.
The Chinese rockets carrying these companies communication satellites into space kept blowing up right after launch.
These companies sent their technicians to communist China to help their scientist correct this problem.
The reason is the Communist could launch their (American companies)satellites much cheaper than could be done here in the US.
Of course, the the Chinese rocket company/ies did not transfer the rocket technologies to the Chinese military. Of couse not. There were agreements signed not to do so.
Whether we want to admit it or not. Communist China have US by the short hairs.
This have been made possible by ameriKan pols and American companies.

plans stolen from U.S. based firms via “guest workers” and leftist traitors bent on seeing the United States destroyed.

I went to a WalMart the other day, to buy a steam humidifier. I had not been in a store in about 10 years. My wife does the shopping, but this time I wanted to go with her. I do all my shopping online, after reading many reviews from other buyers across many sites. Grant it, I don’t buy much “stuff” except books. Any case… the trip… was a trip!

    A) I could not believe the cheap crap there was. All of it was junk and seemed very poorly made. Mountains of junk – all made in China.
    B) I was flipping stunned at how huge people are. People were just massive and I saw about 8 or so actually riding around in little electric wheelchairs and all of them were massively fat.

I don’t get out to populated places much (obviously). I work too many hours a day to have done much and having run businesses for so long, I just don’t get out of the office, or my home office much at all. The work has really consumed me, and most often I do not drive. Just no time for it as I have to work in the car on the way to work, etc…

Just wanted to share the shocking observations I had. Nasty plastic crap and people that seem to do nothing at all but eat and buy nasty plastic junk. Sad! What the heck happened to the country – when did all this happen?

I would also like to make a few observations:

First, I work for a major US company that has almost all of it manufacturing done in China and southeast Asia, and I can promise you that the only reason we do so is because of the Capitalist economy that we enjoy. It’s simply to expensive to build our products any where else in the world. A $50 widget built there would cost double that to be build here in the United States. Even with the extra cost of shipping from China to the US.

Second, While it may seem that most of the stuff you’re seeing in Walmart is plastic crap, and you’d be right. It‘s also important to know that it’s that way because the US companies are asking for it to be built that way to keep the Walmart prices low. Basically the US consumer is asking for the prices to be low by continuing to purchase that products. Believe me if China wanted to make stuff much better quality, they have the time and infinite resources to make sure it happens.

Third, It only takes one 50cent bullet “made in China” to take down the most highly trained and best fit soldiers in the world. Yes I would agree that this jet they are DEVELOPING looks like a piece of crap but when they can build 5000 and the US will be capped below 200 F-22s, it’s easy to see the writing on the wall. The people I know in the military are not taking this lightly even if the political leadership thinks we’ll be fine with only a fraction of the fighters. We should never underestimate this and I’m pretty sure our military is not, even if we think it looks like crap.

Fourth: I’ve been over to China many times and I have yet to see an overweight person yet.

I too have noticed the increased amount of obese folk riding around in their electric wheelchairs at WAL-MART. I go there for fluids for my cars – it’s much cheaper than local auto part stores for the same brands.

I was laid off from my production manager job partly due to the cheap labor in Thailand. Where I was trying to figure out ways to have 1 guy run 2 machines, our manufacturing plant in Thailand would have 2 guys running 1 machine.

Underestimating your opponent is the first mistake. And I would be willing to bet that all you need to do is look within reach anywhere in your home or place of work and you see the words “Made In China”. So all that so called “junk”, and I don’t disagree with the majority of it being cheap junk, is what we use everyday. It’s shameful but true. Unfair trade agreements have lead to this and we have done it to ourselves as a country and a consumer. Stand up and look at what your buying, see where it’s made and then make the right purchase choice.

If they built it regardless of where they “found”/“Stole” the technology you can bet they can fly it too.

Amazing how the ChiCom military made a quantum leap in military technology just after the Clinton administration allowed them to steal all of our military secrets.

Given that Al Gore was caught red-handed taking campaign contributions from the ChiCom military, I wonder why there was never an investigation into this?

@clock – there is the likelihood that not only was it paid for by U.S. debt but also by U.S. parts and “inside” technology.

Paid for by US debt and with technology directly transferred by Bill Clinton to China that increased their defense technology by decades.

Just looking for a good place to post this info…media seems to have just dropped the story?!

“Wheeler, who his close friends knew as Jack, reportedly had earned TS/SCI (Top Secret / Special Compartmentalized Information) clearance during his most recent government job, special assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force during the administration of George W. Bush.”

What’s interesting about this is that I also read that Mr. Wheeler was last seen stumbling down a street without a coat on and missing one shoe…acting like he had dementia…If you look around, before it gets hidden, witness saw him stumbling around with ‘dementia’ in cold weather without a coat with one shoe on. I’m concerned because two kids died in Iowa in exactly same way. Wandering around naked in cold with dementia symptoms lying down and dying. One in Cedar Rapids and one in some college elsewhere in Iowa. Was he killed with some kind of poison?

There are still a few links up tying Mr. Wheeler to the Mitre Corp. this is a company in Arkansas that designs control systems for united states military planes that do chemical spraying. apparently, they were en route to transporting the Iraqi made phosgene gas . This gas was supposed to have been destroyed by our gov’t but it looks as if Mr. Wheeler was en route to exposing the officials who were responsible for this “accident” for the real story and not the bull@#$% read this report prepared for Prime minister Putin , just google Top U.S. Official Murdered After Arkansas Weapons Test Causes Mass Death and decide for yourself.

Not really trying to be a conspiracy theorist…however, we’ve got “planes” shooting out of the water on the Calif coastline and reporters don’t find it very newsworthy…REALLY??? There‘s lots more bizarre stuff but somehow I’m having a mental block at the moment because it is TOO OVERWHELMING to keep up with!

EVERYTHING seems worthy of our scrutiny these days!

      Paid for with U.S. debt.

I dont see what the problem is. Apparently our leaders don’t care and most Americans are more concerned about what federal handouts they can get. Great for the Chinease. Im happy for them. They need to watch out, Our goverment may collapse as we run out of money and we wont be able to pay them back and buy the all Walmart “Made in China” rubber dog crap. After that they will have 500 million workers without jobs and no food. Those engineers and factor workers wont go quietly back to rice paddys and there will be another “Maoist Cultural Revolution” in China. Millions of Chinease will parish.

By the way, that aircraft they have pics of looks like a fighter bomber like the retired Air Force F-111. Big fueselage+large wingspan area=easy target, and big engines=huge infrared profile. It could be desinged to carry air to surface an aircraft carrier killer missle?

The chinese miliyary must be a mess….a huge group of men with no sexual release.
What I am talking about is the fact that baby girls have not been born in china in any numbers for some time now. Families are allowed one child, and a daughter is a drag on the family’s resources. Makes me wonder how prevalent homosexuality is over there….Maybe they use the old saltpeter trick on the soldier boys.

Made in the USA! In 8-10 years we’ll have a new superiority fighter-bomber paid for with printed money out of thin air.

By our debt and continued addiction to their products produced by cheap labor, forced at the end of a gun barrel when necessary. The plans were probably accidentally left on the 600 Super-computers that Clinton sold to China after the Pentagon recommended against it. Anyone still think that was a great idea? How many Clinton cronies are still in and around the current administration? You do not bring down a giant in one swing. The effort has been ongoing for some time.

Nope, looks to me like the illegal immigtration of Chinese and their espionage has paid off–plane looks like it could have been made based on our (U.S.) technology and designs.

Is this a doctored photo? The red star looks like a photoshop decal and why are the numbers on the plane and the letter ‘b’ on the sign on the tarmac not in Chinese?

      @LSX

“No doubt – yet the parasites will still want the US to borrow more!”

You do realize the debt we owe China is from the debt we owe the Federal Reserve who sells the debt as investments to China. I hope you also realize The Federal Reserve ( a private business ) collects interest on every dollar printed and yes that goes for the billions printed as bail out, yet it’s because of Bush,Labor Unions and China right? So many people looking the wrong direction, it’s a wonder we lasted this long.

That thing is a piece of crap! The paint fumes in the cockpit will probably kill the pilots before they hit 5,000 feet! So stealthy, that soon after take-off they disappear … forever!! Commies suck! China sucks!

No, paid for by you – shopping at Walmart, JC Penney, any other department store, Dollar General, etc, et al. US debt is NOT paying for this, they have loaned the money to the Central Bank so that we will continue to be in debt and they will have leverage to call in that debt should we step out of line. When you buy Chinese goods, you are paying for your own destruction. believe it.

First they stole the technology. Then they paid to develope and build it with the interest they earned on all the money they lent the USA. Thankyou Mr. President.
