Chinese Government Launches Cable Network for Americans

The Chinese government recently launched a cable network for Americans, called “CCTV America.”  According to PBS, “The Chinese government looked at the international broadcasters and decided it had to be in that business, too.”

University of California San Diego professor Susan Shirk described it, saying, “The Chinese government thinks that, as a major global player, they should have their own media organizations operating around the world, just as the U.S. does, the Europeans do, the Japanese do, and even the Arab world has.”

CCTV America began last month with three new English-language programs, but detractors are already calling the network’s objectivity into question.  Philip Cunningham, who has lived part-time in China for the past three decades and is now a visiting scholar at Cornell University, said, “It looks and smells like state TV.  It doesn‘t really strike me as being different just because there’s a studio in Washington.  I think it’s still propaganda.”

And the president of CCTV is reported to have said last year, “The first social responsibility and professional ethic of media staff should be understanding their role clearly in being a good mouthpiece…Journalists who think of themselves as ‘professionals’ instead of as ‘propaganda workers’ were making a fundamental mistake about identity.”

Others maintain that the network is as objective as any other news organization.  The director general of the organization, Ma Jing, said, “We uphold the traditional journalistic values.  We consider accuracy, objectivity, truthfulness, and public accountability very important.  More important than anything else.”

This is off topic because the blaze like all other news outlets in the US are ignoring the fact.
There has been a coupe in China, and all traces of the news is being wiped.
Do a Bing or Google search for coupe in china before all instances are gone. It showed up on Drudge for only 1 day and was wiped, there was a detailed story on The Promethian Post that is now been deleted. All main stream media is following orders to not tell you about it.
If this is true, it is a cause for great concern here in the US.

Iran and Russia have propaganda news websites in English, also.

And America has several — the mainstream media (ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBS, NBC, etc.), which I refer to as the propaganda press!

Personally, I think their world news is far better than ours! Our world news really doesn’t cover as much having to do with business and finance. Their news covers industries and culture as well. Our culture has gone down hill in a basket. People don’t know how to dress anymore nor even conduct themselves in a decent manner. American travelers are voted as being the rudest in the entire world! What do you expect! I have been to China four times and have never had a bad experience! The people are polite, decent and caring! They are even curious about American customs and family ideas! As we regress backwards they are pulling forwards with their education being much higher than ours! Every 25 year old practically now has a Bachelor degree over there! Our educational system is a laughing joke compared to theirs! Kids over there go to school over 8 hours a day with an emphasis of math, science and physics! Now they have your money, own most of everything and you think they are the dumb ones! I wonder how many of you save your money and are out of debt completely? That is how they do it over there! Have not, want not!

Oddly enough the Chinese are more capitalistic than they used to be and we’re regressing to communism with our Marxist POS president. For all the Chinese advancements to capitalism they’re still a communist country with all their faults,I’m sure the people are kind like you say,I‘m not concerned about the people it’s the government that I reject because communism is a death cult that doesn’t allow any freedom or liberty or free speech, just my opinion.

I especially like the way China values human life .
Like the video I saw not to long ago about a child run over,
laying dead in the street and people just went about their business,
just like it was the same old same old. And I said to myself..
There’s a country we should strive to be more like..

Kiss my a**. “Americans don’t even know how to dress.”

Well, I do know, and I will wear a Tux for one organization I belong to, but outside of that, I haven’t worn a tie in 25 years. Yep, I’m president of a software company. I don’t need to look like a grocery store employee.

If you are so anti-American, then leave!

I have socialized a bit with people from the UK. I DON’T LIKE THE WAY THEY TAkE THEMSELVES SO SERIOUSLY! I don’t like the French aroma! Australiams think we are crazy for how much we work!
