Chris Christie Knocks Bloomberg-Like Politicians for Ramped-up Anti-Gun Rhetoric: ‘Disturbed’

Twelve people were brutally shot and murdered and dozens more wounded at a midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises” in Aurora, Colo., last Friday.
But instead of taking at least a few days to reflect on the preciousness and frailty of human life, a handful of public figures – most notably New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg — have seized on this tragic event as an opportunity to push for stricter gun laws.
And New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is getting pretty sick of it.
“Can we at least get through the initial grief and tragedy for these families before we start making them political pawns?” Christie said on Monday.
“I am a little bit disturbed by the politicians who in the immediate aftermath of this type of tragedy try to grandstand on it, and I’m not going to be one of those people,” he added.
Although he didn’t mention the New York mayor by name, many critics believe that‘s who he’s talking about.
Consider the following: During an interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan, himself a long-time lover of restrictive gun laws, on Monday, Bloomberg actually suggested police go on strike until someone takes guns off the street.
“I don’t understand why police officers across this country don’t stand up collectively and say ‘we’re going to go on strike, we’re not going to protect you unless you, the public, through your legislature, do what’s required to keep us safe,’” Bloomberg told Morgan.
He continued:
Police officers want to go home to their families. And we’re doing everything we can to make their job more difficult, but more importantly, more dangerous, by leaving guns in the hands of people who shouldn’t have them and letting people who have those guns buy things like armor-piercing bullets.
[...]
At some point, we have to understand that this is our children, our grandchildren, or us. But for the police officers, it’s much more immediate.

Posted on July 24, 2012 at 12:45pm…HOWEVER, Bloomberg, even through the dimly lit thought-processes of his mind, does accidentally do the gun-owner a favor, and poses to our Society a solution to suppressing the criminal element –
Were the police to stand down, it would be behooving society to defend itself. In short, our society would be MUCH safer in a matter of weeks…more polite, too.

When did this pompous ass become a union Leader? He’s calling for an act of insurrection in this country, doesn’t this come under speech to incite the over throw of the government. Were the police to go on strike, the result is murder, riot, looting, rape, our Country in a total chaos. Now that would give Nobama the right to declare martial law, and become Dictator Nobama, Emperor,King, President for Life. He would realize his dream, to be the supreme leader and law giver in a Third World Muslim Country. All hail Nobama, And to those two useful idiots, when martial law comes, people like you and the Jews who voted for Shaiha Law will be the first in the new Camps. History repeats itself. Jews voted for Hitler and the Nazis party, and now they vote for the very people who strive and welcome Shariha Law. This time none of you will escaped death. My Yeshua is a Jew and I love Him, I love Israel and her people how could I not. Please wake up!! The camps are built,I hear hobnailed boots on the pavement, next comes Juden rouse!!! Posted on July 24, 2012 at 4:52pmI’m friends with a lot of cops. Most of them are pro 2nd amendment. They have no problem with citizens owning firearms and have no problem with CCL laws. I have my CCL and carry 99 percent of the time. If you get stopped fo a traffic violation, when the officer checks your DL it notifies him that you have a CCL. If there had been a few of us in the theater when the nut went nuts it would have been over a lot faster. Of course we would have obeyed the law and left our guns locked up instead of having them on.
Bloomburg is a blooming idiot. Ask him to explain the shootins in Boston, New York, Washington DC and Chicago where the gun laws are so restrictive. Criminals don’t obey the law and new laws would be ignored just like the current laws. If everybody was aughorized to carry there would be less crime because no one could be sure how many people in the bank/convienence store were armed.

Posted on July 24, 2012 at 5:03pmExactly. The Police don‘t ’protect’ anyone in the first. They just do the paperwork after a crime is committed. So if the Police decide to stay home, fine by me. Then I CAN DO what’s really required to protect myself, my family and property as the situation arises without fear of being busted for ‘illegally carrying a concealed weapon’ here in good ole ILL-ear-noise.
And for Mikey Bloomie’s edification, the reason violent crime is low, like non existent, in my village is that a criminal has no idea of who does have a Legal Firearm in their house. And any attempt to burglarize or try a Home Invasion could spell DOOM for them. So even though I’m stuck in IL, my Village is pretty darn ‘gun friendly. It’s just the carrying part we have a problem with. The ‘no cops’ would solve that for travel anywhere in the state, including Chicago..

Posted on July 24, 2012 at 1:34pmAdolph Bloomberg is neither ignorant nor a fool. He is a committed totalitarian dictator who will not be happy until he controls every aspect of your daily life. Adolph, like the dictator Obama knows that their dreams of absolute domination cannot be fully achieved as long as the people possess a means to resist their control. Private gun ownership is the only reason they continue to buy votes using tax payer money. Once every one is disarmed and fully subjugated, no more money will be available and slavery will be the norm. Did the ruling class in the former Soviet Union make living easy once they had power? Did Mao coddle and provide for his people once he had absolute domination? Of course not.
In every instance where it has been tried, Communism has devolved into totalitarian despotism because that is the type of person attracted to a centralized power structure form of government. Both Bloomberg and Obama are narcissistic sociopaths with all the personality traits necessary to seize power and dominate a population.
Communism is the mechanism of evil, it is the form that evil has chosen to enslave humanity this time around. Evil cannot be dismissed, laughed off or bargained with. It must be confronted and defeated or it WILL win. If America falls, all of western civilization is lost and freedom may not be seen again on Earth. THAT is what this election is about!

Posted on July 24, 2012 at 2:00pmEagle is right, AP, API, tracer, etc are not illegal, except maybe in NYC.
Look at a map of the US. The cities with the strictest gun control laws have the highest murder rates, without exception. The areas where most people have guns, rural areas, have the lowest murder rates.
The State of Illinois in general and Chicago in particular have the strictest gun laws going and the City of Chicago has had more people killed by gang shootings than American soldiers killed this year in Afghanistan. In other words, gun control has made Chicago more dangerous than Kandahar.
A century ago nearly 100% of homes had guns and zero mass shootings like in Aurora, or Va Tech., Columbine, etc., happened. When I was in high school, kids had shotguns in their pickup truck gun racks in the school parking lot, zero school shootings happened. Guns have existed for centuries with NO laws. Gun control laws have existed for but a few decades and shootings have skyrocketed. The more liberals try to control the more out of control things become. Liberalism is the disease killing America, not firearms.

Just because he is a “billionaire” and would be kidnapped so that gives him the right to carry a gun, whereas, the rest of us aren‘t allowed because we don’t have to worry about being kidnapped. I haven‘t done the research but I’m pretty sure the majority of kidnap cases….the person wasn’t a billionaire.
Plus, according to Obama, Bloomberg didn’t make the billions, the government helped him make it, so it is really the governments not Bloombergs money. And if we follow Bloombergs thinking regarding banning guns that crimnials would follow the law and would not obtain them. This would then mean that they would follow other laws and wouldn’t kidnap him because…that would be against the law.
I know….if they outlaw guns, then they can outlaw kidnapping as well! Oh wait….isn’t kidnapping already against the law!
