NJ’s Bigger-Than-Life-Governor has announced that he cannot wait to sit at the table with union reps and represent the voters in collective bargaining..
“I love collective bargaining. Let me at them. Get me outta the cage and let me go! Alright, we’re ready to go. We’re ready to collectively bargain. Let’s have it be real collective bargaining, where someone is in there representing the people who pay the bills.”
Those are Christie’s words from a town hall meeting in Hillsborough, NJ last Wednesday.

Posted on March 6, 2011 at 4:51pmIf Christie ever runs for President, he would definitely win. Most Americans like a tough no none sense man! THAT is what this country needs!! A lot of you need to let the idea of Palin as a candidate go (or running mate),, THAT ship has sailed and it sank. ALL her doing. (what a shame). Christie is not stupid enough to pick her, come on people!! Geez (Rubio or West come to mind,,,THEY are electable)

I say hit while the iron is hot and curtail this

Posted on March 6, 2011 at 2:46pmGov. Chistie is going about this the right way. Good negotiations are key, Morality clauses and expectations written into the public service contracts will go a long way. Just think teachers getting the sick notes to be at a rally on film, instant dismissle. I don’t think Gov. Walker and the Wisconson Republicans are correct in wanting to put restrants on collective bargaining. If they lose power the Democrates will just put things back and hand out more taxpayer money.

Posted on March 6, 2011 at 5:45pmWalker in WI is doing the right thing for the right reasons. The debt is unsustainable in WI and unless the union bargaining powers are reined in somewhat (not eliminated!), the state will collapse financially.
And of course the Dems might eventually get back in control of the state and turn things around again. That is the beauty of our two-party system. As a result of our elections, the balance of power swings back and forth between the conservative and liberal parties. The liberals in WI had brought the state to the edge of a precipice financially, and last November the electorate decided that a swing to conservatism was the way to save the state. Walker is doing precisely what he was elected to do.
My point is what Christie and Walker in WI are doing are watershed moments. Never again will the unions seem invincible because they have been outmanuevered and defeated on some very important issues. That makes them vulnerable in the future whenever they try to overstep their boundaries when it comes to government unions.

Posted on March 6, 2011 at 1:21pm“I know who I am, and I know who I represent”. that the quote that sums it all up. It should be the montra of every Constitution supporting politician we put in office. Sadly, it is not, and will continue to be a stumbling block for us in the furture. Unless, unless, the voters get smart, learn what is in the Constitution and the Federalist Papers, and vote in accordance with them. More power to CC. He is doing what he feels is right, and is in support of his tax paying public at large. I want more straight talkers in offices locally, state wide and federally. Yes, I disagree with him on some issues dear to me in the Constitution, but I’m sure if he represented federally, for example, those in favor of maintaining and restoring 2nd ammendment rights, he wuld do the right thing. Afterall, he said he would and knows who he represents. I would like to believe he would do the right thing.

Posted on March 6, 2011 at 12:51pmI find it very refreshing to see a politician actually answer questions put to him, and answer them in plain English, without spin. He also speaks from his beliefs, which I tend to agree with so far. I want to hear more about his positions on various subjects.
This man is potentially a good leader whom others in positions of authority would listen to and respect—something that is sadly lacking in the current POTUS. We are no longer respected in the world.
Obama is not a leader, he flies by the seat of his pants. He fails miserably by refusing to deal with crucial issues, and instead spends his time promoting his progressive agenda, blowing smoke up people’s a$$ (especially those open for smoke), vacationing ad nauseum, and taking advantage of his position to mingle often with celebrities. I firmly believe that he does not respect the Office, nor its responsibilities. It’s time this party is over. We in this country are in desperate trouble and need a genuine leader of men. I think Chris Christie could be that man, as likely could Allen West. It is too bad that West is not our first black president. I guarantee the world would be a far different and better place now.
Both Christie and West feel that they need a bit more experience before running for president. Christie says he is not ready and I believe him—he will know when he is ready for the biggest challenge of his life. West has excellent experience in leadership, but needs more honing in the political arena. Both are potentially excellent leaders, dare I say, in the Reagan mold?
I just hope we are not beyond help before one of them is ready to assume leadership of this country. Peace be with both of them.

Posted on March 6, 2011 at 12:40pmA mafia figure? Except he is not corrupt like the mafia. He has only the best intentions for his state and if it takes a bit of grit on his part, I’m all for it. I love Chris Christie. He’s a REAL MAN. We need more real men in America who don’t sway with the wind and get bought off by money deals that corrupt so many by the smell of money. Stand tall Chris, we’re with YOU.

Unlike the Liar-in-Chief who says whats expedient and even goes so far as to change his “accent” depending upon whom he is speaking. (BTW I looooovvveee his hood voice…what a phony POS!)
CC may not be the best candidate for the R in ‘12 but he at least stands firm in what is right most of the time and says what HE believes and is consistent.

Posted on March 6, 2011 at 12:04pmI guess if you like the status quo then Christie is not for you. Christie is a problem solver, and since the Democrat crooks have ravaged New Jersey, there are a lot of problems to solve there, and he is doing a good job there. We do need a president who can do the same for the country, especially after the damage that Obama is doing.

The problem with that, as far as collective bargaining goes, is that in 99.9% of the rest of collective bargaining situations there is no one like Chris Christy to bargain for the tax payers. How do you think we got in this mess? Unions are evil and do not work except for the Union Organizers and for those members who want to screw the taxpayers or companies paying the bills. Unions and Liberals have ruined this country. …rf

Posted on March 7, 2011 at 10:00amAgreed, he genuinely wants to attempt to get his state back on track first. He would lost alot of credibility in the fact that he has stated he is not going to run until his term as Governor is finished. He has some good traits but A. He needs to finish his term and B. We need to know more about this guy. Afterall, Obama rose up quickly due to his oratory skills, let’s be certain to make a good choice and not vote against Obama but vote for someone who truely represents traditional conservative principles both fiscally and socially.

Christie is popular because Americans see the condition our country is heading in and he’s unapologetic in his approach to fixing it. Whether you agree with the man or not – at least he’s a politician whose trying to save a state rather than letting it crumble..We need more representatives in our government that are willing to do that, because we can’t keep spending money we do not have – somethings gotta give.

Posted on March 6, 2011 at 2:38pmI think Gov. Christie has it down pat. I LOVE this guy. If we had more politicians like him, this country would not be in the situation it is in now. He isn’t my governor, but I’d take him anytime he wants to come to my part of the country, and our state has no public employee unions, or out of sight spending. I do not understand why these public employees can not GET the fact that benefits they are being paid has bankrupted their State. Something has to give in lots of these places where tax payers are over burdened and have no where near the jobs or pay or benefits that public employees have. I look at all the protesters with their signs saying “We are doing this for your children”. Yeah RIGHT…get in the classroom and TEACH. Not off protesting making a mess of your Capitol building and grounds. That of course is meant for the WS looney toons. I think from the looks and sounds of some of the ones that have been interviewed, I seriously believe that the Union goons hired some homeless people, bused them in, handed them a sign, and told them to make as much noise and mess as they could. They don’t know what they are there for, they are just there.
