New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says you can forget about him having a cabinet position in a Mitt Romney administration.
The Republican governor, who repeatedly insisted he would not be Romney’s running mate, said this week he has “no interest” in being the U.S. attorney general or holding any other cabinet spot.
“I’m telling you now, I have no interest in being in a Romney cabinet. I just have no interest in being attorney general,” Christie said during his monthly call-in radio show Thursday, according to the New Jersey Star-Ledger.
The former federal prosecutor, set to deliver the keynote speech at the Republican National Convention next week, has had his name thrown around as a possibility for the nation’s top law enforcement officer.
“No, no, I want to be here,” Christie said Thursday. “There’s going to come a point where you guys are just going to just have to be humbled to the fact that I’ve actually been telling the truth that I didn’t want to run for president, I didn’t want to run for vice president, that I want to be governor of New Jersey and, you know, if Governor Romney wins, come January 20, 2013 when I’m not sitting on the platform with the cabinet then I think you’re eventually just going to have to be humbled to the fact that I’ve been telling the truth all along.”
“As disappointing as it is, you’re just going to have to live with it,” he added. “I want to be here. I love this job.”

Posted on August 25, 2012 at 12:45pmWhy are people so against someone who genuinely likes their job, and wants to keep doing it? Does EVERYONE have to “aspire” to higher heights to be productive? I admire Christie’s no nonsense approach. ( I’m so tired of our mealy mouthed “apologiser-in-chief” making the US out to be the evil of the world.) I believe that Christie can be a staunch supporter AND a good Govenor.

Posted on August 25, 2012 at 3:20pmHey Fat Chris, We don’t want you in any position. Other then sounding like a character from The Sapranos, you have no qualities. You are a RINO by nature and frankly we have had enough of that whole group. I will not not give dollar one to the RNC for that very reason. I am tired of it going to RINO’s. I give directly to the candidate that I support. SO go have another baked good and enjoy yourself.

Posted on August 25, 2012 at 2:26pmI would like to know why Christie is securitizing or going along with securitizing future tax revenue.
Maybe he feels that he has to do so. The Democrat Governor Corzine handed him a bag of excrement.
Christie still has to get a budget past a Democrat legislature. That might be part of it.

Posted on August 25, 2012 at 12:19pmI really know nothing about Christie’s politics other than he seeming has no problem putting people in their place or speaking his mind. While I do admire that trait, I do know I don’t like his attitude regarding “the fawning of the American people” People are quite smitten with him and he acts like he’s gracing us with his presence….
People literally begged him to get in the race and he was appealing… mainly because we’re so tired of being lied to .. the thought of hearing something remotely truthful coming out of a politician’s mouth was akin to a kid getting to go to DisneyWorld and people acted accordingly.
Quote ..
“There’s going to come a point where you guys are just going to just have to be humbled to the fact that I’ve actually been telling the truth that I didn’t want to run for president, I didn’t want to run for vice president, ”
I‘ve read other similar comments he’s made.
Sounds to me like he thinks he’s all that and a bag of chips. Stay where ya are big guy. We don‘t need any O’Reilly type fence straddlers in the new administration. It’s not meant to be all about you.

Posted on August 25, 2012 at 12:29pmHe’s a lefty-Republican at heart. Besides, if he doesn’t have the self-respect and discipline to rein in that waistline, what makes you think he’ll be any different fighting for conservative principles?

Posted on August 26, 2012 at 7:53amIt’s really a moot point anyway. Willard (Flipper) Romney isn’t going to win. Can’t trust a guy that will change his position every other day just to get elected. If Flipper thought being gay would put him in the Whitehouse he’d be handing out BJs like candy.

Posted on August 25, 2012 at 10:46amThis “not my party” mentality is dangerous. It is this same mentality that gets bills like the “Patriot Act” “NDAA” passed. I was a sheep once, and defended the “Patriot Act” with the popular republican slogan “If I don’t have anything to hide, I don’t have anything to worry about. There are terrorist out there that need to be put in their place.“ And I did this because i had the ”not my party” mentality.
My party would never use this against me……..HA! Maybe not…but the next guy will. The two parties represent “Good cop, Bad cop” (depending on which side you favor)….bottom line is they are both cops on the same team.
The more i read the ignorant “swooning over party” (be that also in reverse swooning ie: “stupid democrats” (I agree with the statement but Republicans are not much better)) comments the more I do not want to pull the lever for Romney. The one and only reason I want to vote for Romney is to have a fair debate over policy w/o having to cut through the “race” red tape.
However the more i see the “not my party” mentality, the more scary it is to vote for Romney. Being that such a majority of people are for him, when he wins, everyone will be in a heart throbbing trance, and go back to sleep thinking that everything is ok now…

Posted on August 25, 2012 at 4:46pmright now its either Ron Paul or Gary Johnson, Romney is to progressive for me and not different enough from Obama. i don‘t really care which one wins because the GOP will have the senate likely and there policies will be similiar except maybe for a more hawkish intervention foreign policy from Romney which i don’t like. if you get gold or silver or invest in bonds you should do very well because things are going down hill economically and the fed will likely do QE3, you can also double your money on a bet on either Romney or Obama if you know your stuff and know who will win. Obama i am sure will against Romney. cause i know how its rigged.
