Chris Matthews Congratulates Media Matters, Himself for Beck Transition

When Glenn Beck announced yesterday that he would be transitioning off his daily Fox TV show, you knew MSNBC started salivating. And so it’s probably no surprise that MSNBC host Chris Matthews devoted a whole segment to the Beck story. Heck, he even invited a guest — the leader of the anti-Beck brigade and Media Matters president David Brock.

Matthews decided to play some clips of Beck and then rehash the same things he’s been saying for the last two years, mainly that Beck is crazy, insane, and a race-baiter. Brock agreed. The two even agreed this is a “victory for civil discourse.”

The funniest part of the clip, though, was when Matthews stroked Brock’s ego by congratulating him for a “successful campaign” against Beck. Brock, naturally, basked in the glory. Still, Matthews couldn’t let Brock take all the credit: “You weren’t alone on that. I was with you and a lot of people thought it was a good idea to end this.”

But maybe the two forgot one key thing: Beck isn’t off the air. Not only will he continue his daily show for some time, but he’ll also be doing specials for Fox.

    I guess that now there is a need for us to step up and flood all the media that we have access to and begin the story anew.
    The electronic media, TV especially, has been left wing propaganda since it’s inception. These people are used to the “check valve”, the “diode” that only allows the information to flow in one political direction and prevents flow in the other. Most of the “journalists” now also come from a place (like govt. or academia) where your ideas do not have to work in order for you to keep your job. If the rest of us implement ideas that fail, we lose our shirts. In their environment , there are few consequences for nonsense. When the media and govt. convince sheep get behind things that don‘t achieve the stated goal they just claim that there are not sufficient amounts of other people’s money for the various schemes to work.
    They also get to conflate the things that America survives “inspite of” and the things that are good for the country.
    Time to take our places INDEED.
    I have no idea what the nest move is for Glen , but I pray that his time at the podium is not up. Things like this are precisely waht they spin. They repeat a lie and repeat a lie concerning a situation like this. When you then find the rare person on the other side that can be persuaded by the truth, you spend the first hour showing them the documentation to disprove the spin nad often neither of you has much energy left to discuss the issue at hand.
    Pound an energy shot and let’s go ,people. We have a long way to go and a short time to get there.

      And speaking of diodes, The liberal media is PnP, (POLITICS news POLITICS) while fox is NpN…NEWS politics NEWS……All the liberal media are right now laying the “looming government shutdown” at the door of the Republicans…While Obama gets a pass on saying last night, that “this isn’t the time for political grandstanding….”

      Ok then, out with it Glenn! If it’s so great, let the viewers know. This “sneaking” around and building up the drama is garbage. Puts me in mind of Nancy Pelosi saying, “You‘ll just have to pass it to see what’s in it!”

      What are we, 8 year olds? At 8 years old, I liked surprises. At 40+, surprises, especially dramatized surprises just p!ss me off.

      He will tell us as soon as he can…………we just need to be listening, watching, preparing, helping others, praying, etc., etc., all of that stuff he has “taught” us. (and wasn’t worried about being politically correct!!)

    When he leaves, there will be many more who will copy what he has started. Success breeds success and failure breeds failure. He is successful so many will try and emulate him in the future so we may have even more coverage…we can hope but NONE will hold a candle to Beck. He’s been blessed by God and he truly loves this country. You can’t manufacture either of those.

      FANCYDANCY—-In the NBA Jerry West influenced Oscar Robertson who influenced Julious Irving who influenced Micheal Jordan and Magic Johnson who influenced Kobe Bryant who will in time influence— who knows. The same will prove true for Glenn. His influence will start others on the road he is traveling and they in turn will influence others etc., etc., etc……..

    I sure hope so, but I agree with those that have a sneaky feeling this was Fox‘s doing not Glenn’s. Plus the fact that it’s just in time for the next Presidential election, and not having Glenn around to dispute the idiots won’t be fun at all. I know that of late when Glenn pivoted off the politics and more into the religion stuff, I kind of lost interest, not that I’m not a believer, but it was uncomfortable in a news setting, but I still listen to him on the radio every day.

      Hmmmm, Could be Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). Chris should see his doctor about this. According to the Mayo Clinic website:

      “In many cases, no known cause for restless legs syndrome exists. Researchers suspect the condition may be due to an imbalance of the brain chemical dopamine. This chemical sends messages to control muscle movement”.

      See Chris, it could be an “imbalance of the brain”. We sort of suspected you had this all along. The same article said most folks found relief be exercising or walking. Why not start by leaving the studio. Have a nice day.

      Mr. Beck made a point of saying that he isn’t “going anywhere” and gave that little smile…..I fear that Sissy Chrissy will have many more opportunities to try and slime Mr. Beck…..He is not a purveyor of the news at all, just an opportunist with a bully pulpit, whose only real talent is sucking up to leftists….What a pitiful little thing he is…

    Let them celebrate for now… Glenn said last year, that an hour long program was not long enough to get his message out. That he had to constantly PICK and CHOOSE what he put on the air. I expect to see major documentaries, especially in 2012, that focuses on the Progressives/Socialists/Communist movements and what there true agendas are. Keep up the great work Glenn, we will be watching/listening, no matter what format your presenting information on.

      I was just thinking (sometimes that’s dangerous). What if Glenn plans to create documentaries about our history. The unvarnished truth insted of the lies and half truths we were force fed in school. Something that will bring about an understanding of the true importance and impact of our founding fathers and their activities. Something so big that the liberal left and the progressives amongst us will collectively slap Micheal Moore for being a dumba$$.     what did you expect ???? you make it known glenns 5 o clock show will be ending, and think doing “ specials” will be equated to something on the par of that show??

    i really hope glenn has something planned that is substantial, or all of us glenn supporters will have a hard time ahead.

    can we go it alone? sure. there are plenty of us with our eyes open, and it will stay that way. but it is somewhat demoralizing to even in a small way, let them think they were successful in getting glenn off the show.

    it will be interesting to see what glenn has planned, but i hope its something that will completely devastate this perceived victory the left is claiming

      I really regret not taking the time to contact the advertisers who joined in this effort, to let them know how I feel about their product/Brand now. The odd thing is, I was actually looking into this again just last week. I am disgusted enough again by this that I think it is still very important to let them know what this now means for their Brand…

      We don’t want anyone to accept anything, we want them to do there homework and come to it on their own terms. Unfortunately, some are very slow, some are not going to listen, and others device those that are open minded and willing to listen, by calling Beck crazy a bazillion times.

      As Glenn stated, at some point you get off the horse and get into the fight. Glenn has more to say and do, I’d say the next phase is more than Fox can handle.

      Glenn could even be moving to Utah too run against Orin Hatch.

      We need not say anything. This was a planned move on Glenn’s part. Don’t know if this is the time he initially envisioned, but that don’t matter. Maybe it’s happening sooner because *now* is the time that the iron is hot. That is when you take it out of the forge and shape it to your own ends. Don’t sweat the small stuff like when and why. That’s not really our concern is it? Since GB is fixin’ to strike hot steel, maybe we should be too. He prepared his forge and placed the iron in it. What’s your forge lookin like? Maybe we should all tend our own forge and more good things will come to pass.
      I’m excited about all of this myself. WE get to try OUR wings out. We get to do our own homework assignments, not follow up on what we have been told by GB. Remember to “Question boldly everything you see and hear” just like Glenn said and you will be prepared for whatever comes your way. We should be able now to do our own investigations thanks to his efforts. I believe THAT was the entire purpose of his shows. I no longer need anyone to hold my hand but JC. I refuse to run around like a chicken with its head cut off. The sky is not gonna fall. Go Glenn and God speed.

      I take comfort in the fact that even when Glenn goes off Fox at 5pm, they could still put up a test pattern for that time-slot and still have more viewers than Matthews. Progressives love congratulating themselves. It’s pretty funny actually. It sucks to see Glenn is going to leave the 5pm time slot, but I am not too sure his TV days are over. You don‘t draw that kind of audience and leave television unless it’s your decision.

      Hey Tingel Boy– Just as Obi-Wan told Vader. If you strike me down I will only grow stronger. Glenn has planted the seed. He has given us the tools of knowledge and reason. And better yet he has given us the means to join and realize that we are not as alone as we thought. The biggest fear I have is that I am alone. But Freedomworks, The Blaze, the radio show all show me there are others out there who think and feel as I do. I only hope there is time to band togetther and do what must be done to save our Republic, this is what I pray for every day.

      Chris is so full of himself that maybe he’ll explode. First he tells everyone that Michelle Bauchman was made right there on his network, then that he had something to do with Glenn leaving. Well the jokes going to be on him again and maybe this time instead of a tingle down his leg he will get one down his left arm. Glenn will surprise both these idiots and will have the last laugh when it happens. He is way smarter than the two combined, of course that isn’t saying much, but we all know how smart Glenn is and how he thinks outside the box. He’s already figured out what has happened, what’s going to happen, and what we need to do about it AND has figured out the next step he needs to take to help us resolve this.       They were just missing Keith Olbermann and you would have the three stooges. Check the ratings and Glenn had better ratings from his first show, and continues to do so, than any show Matthews has. I’m sure Media Matters will now have their collective ears on the radio daily to continue the twisting of Glenns words to meet their Soros lovers appetite.

      Glenn has reached everybody that has a ear. He had 3 million viewers out of 100 million voters. 3 million see what is going on, as for the remaining 97 million, they do not care.       I believe Glenn’s decision is based on his health issues. I support his wishes highly and pray for him every day. I believe he will provide great Fox News content, from behind the scenes reporting. He will have documentaries, etc.. My Husband thinks he will run for President, but I do not believe that. I think it is time for him to move on to bigger and better things. He will still be on radio.

      Glenn has always been honest with us and I take him at his word. The infighting at FOX was a distraction that Glenn greatly disliked (as he said). The libs and some conservatives at FOX just could not tolerate the analytical truth. This all leaves Glenn on the high moral ground where he would settle for nothing less. FOX is the loser for letting the internal political warfare get out of hand. They would rather keep their head buried in the sand and show only dull PC superficial TV news with PC superficial analysis, all while the world undergoes major change.

      All the libs will have a great day today but I hope Glenn will disappoint them, down the road.

They know he was totally overpowering them with popularity and this gives them false hope that their ratings will improve. Evidently, even the union thugs and radicals don’t watch them.       At least we have been warned Glenn Beck did a good job of getting people to think outside of the box. Mr Becks predictions of what is coming our way have been right on the mark and will continue to point to what is moving in the world today and in the future. We can stick our heads back in the sand and believe what these airheads are saying or we can think for ourselves and do the research for our selves and maybe just maybe it is not to late to save us from what will be an event or events that will completley change our way of life.
      All we can do is prepare and that preperation will not be a waste of time or enegy.
      Who in there their right mind thinks that changes are not coming our way.
      Time will tell.
      In 20 years when our children are grown what will they be facing and what will their lives be like.
      When the first nuke goes off and it will all bets are off.
      I hope that does not happen but from what I see, that will be the most likely thing to happen if the radicals have their way and it looks like they will.

      A lot of people are taking this the wrong way.There is a method to Becks maddness.He will not abandon his loyal followers.I think he is heading to middle America to buy a ranch like Imus has. He will have a radio station and tapeing studio.This will enable him to be with his family most of the time and still do what ever he wants ,with out the all the trouble of dealing with a corporation.Glenn is opening up a new and improved ,large size can of whoop @-ss.The second thing is Trump has a private five-o in Hawaii working on Q-Bamas b/c.We will see who laughs last .All in all this has been a good news day for the right.The left will soon be reaping the whirlwind they started.Have Faith.

      Note to all. I am a 63 year old retiree. I retired after working for 37 years. Worked with attorneys, insurance, farmers and manufacturers. My parents started out poor, living in a shack that they had to put paper on the walls to keep the wind out in winter. They worked hard and were successful and both lived until they were in their late 70′s. They made sure I was educated in college and got a start on my own. I also worked hard in many different jobs while in a community college and senior college. I don’t consider myself a mental giant and had people who worked for me that I think are a whole lot more intellectual than me. However, I have to say that Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Barbara Boxer, Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Weiner, President O’bama and the rest (who probably went to more prestigious colleges than I did, are undoubtedly the most stupid and ignorant people I have ever heard make comments. Not taking up for Repubs either, because there has been some of those also. However, the gasoline prices could come down immediately if the reserves were opened and if we started drilling here and now and in all places we have available to us. We could become independent of foreign oil (I think) within 15 years). However, we have to start now. I remember the Carter era and the others where prices went up. Mr. O’bama does not have a clue as to how to lead this country in any of the important areas that affect the middle class. I have gone on too long….my first time to enter a blog, so I will close out by saying “I hope God Blesses America in spite of those who would make it a Socialist nation.”

      i think this is a way for Glenn to not only point out who they are but give us information on what they are doing. the only way you can make a politician poop themselves is to show were all the skeletons are and the documents to prove the case….so let the poop fly. if they can lie and get people to believe them, then we can tell the truth and back it up with the proof.
      i think Glenn is going to take the gloves off. they now have 80+ people to try to disprove Glenn’s theories, just think how many they will need when the gloves come off…
