Chris Matthews Fawns Over John Roberts: ‘Moral’ and Did ‘Better’ Job Than Solicitor General

Immediately following the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the constitutionality of President Obama’s healthcare bill, MSNBC host Chris Matthews was absolutely thrilled that Chief Justice John Roberts decided to side with the left-leaning part of the court.

“There’s not going to be an alternative plan down the road,” Matthews said in reference to the Affordable Care Act. “This is it. There needed to be a financing mechanism for the pre-existing conditions, for the young adults and all that, and this is it and it’s the only game in town.”

“Had [Chief Justice Roberts] been the one to strike this down, I think there was a concern, a moral concern, he would be killing the chances for the country to have a healthcare plan. I really do believe that led him to try to find a constitutional rout here, which he did find in the Tax Law,” Matthews added.

“So was it more the Solicitor General [Don] Verrilli who did the work here or do you think it was John Roberts?” an MSNBC host asked, referring to the SG’s miserable performance during March’s oral arguments.

“The opposite. I think [Roberts] was a better solicitor for the president than the solicitor general. I think Roberts found the answer. Now if this is another way of doing something, some new kind of salesmanship, where you make the worst possible sales pitch knowing that the other guy is smart enough to find out what you’re not saying, boy that is brilliance,” Matthews responded.

“Nobody’s that smart. To be purposely stupid so that the other guy will feel himself smart by coming up with what you should’ve said — the Tax Law. I don’t want to be sarcastic, but that’s just too much to believe.”

Final thought: Chris Matthews’ newfound respect for Chief Justice Roberts seems a little odd considering that less than 24 hours ago he was willing to draw comparisons between Roberts and Roger Taney, the justice who upheld the Fugitive Slave Law.

Chris Matthews is an idot. He says Romney can not walk in and with a stroke of the pen do away with Obama care he has to follow the constitution. Obama does not follow the constitution when he goes around congress and does what ever he wants done. I guess only dmocrats do that.

No I do not believe that presidents should go around congress, Chris has a short memory of what Obama has done.I guess with that stupid tingle up his leg Obama can do what ever he wants and it is ok.

One thing Chris does not realize is if Obama has his way the media is under Obama control and the media cannot say anything other than what Obama would agree to. Yes the media is on Obama’s side but even the media would be put on restraints.

Thank God for the courage He provided to Justice Roberts. Roberts singlehandedly forced a response from the Right, an Romney rose to the occasion. We will not be taxed and Romney will see to that.

How many times has Oboma and Matthews showered together? A littlObomba has never been a “Professor”! One only becomes a “Professor” when voted into that position by peers, never Self-elevated to the position of “Professor”. Also, Peloosi said two days ago that John Robutts was On-the-take! (Sarah Palin’s response) – (PART 2)

SCOTUS now rules this is a tax? Well, Congress has the ability to create taxes – and also has the ability to rescind them. Upon their return from the July recess, Congress should act immediately to repeal this terrible new tax on the American people, and indeed they must repeal all of Obamacare. This is the most brazen and sweeping new tax and government overreach imposed on us. We the People did not ask for this tax, we do not want this tax, and we can’t afford this tax. This is not an answer to America’s health care challenges.

It’s time, again, for patriotic Americans to rise up to protest this obvious infringement on our economic and personal freedom. November is just around the corner. Today, the Supreme Court issued their ruling on Obamacare. In November, We the People will issue ours.

(Sarah Palin has responded to the SCOTUS ruling) – (PART 1)

Thank you, SCOTUS. This Obamacare ruling fires up the troops as America’s eyes are opened! Thank God.

This proves to be such an unsettling time in America as we undergo the fundamental transformation that Barack Obama promised he would do to us if elected. Obamacare was dealt in deception and confusion by flooding the public with an overwhelming amount of conflicting “rationale” via thousands of pages of unread legislative detail, which is the radical left’s M.O. Obama promised the American people this wasn’t a tax and that he’d never raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000. We now see that this is the largest tax increase in history. It will slam every business owner and every one of the 50% of Americans who currently pay their taxes. The other 50% are being deceived if they think they’re going to get a free ride – because Medicaid is broke. Recipients of Obama’s “free health care” will have fewer choices and less accessibility. Trust me – this much more expensive health care WILL be rationed; to claim otherwise defies all economic and common sense.

We will not retreat on this. A newly elected legislative branch is key to defending our Republic and fundamentally restoring all that is good in America.

Roberts basically said that if the Fed has the ability to enact stupid taxes and if you don’t like the Pres/Congress enacting stupid and unfair taxes stop electing stupid politicians. Obama said many times (while being recorded) that ObamaCare was NOT a tax. His lawyers however went in an argued it was a TAX…..Then OB has the nerve to come out today and gloat that we are soo stupid to have believed him.

I’m sending up $1k for Mitt…originally thinking $100 but not now…. just have to wait a bit to see which PAC is going to be the downright nastiest at uncloaking the little kenyan….

Everyone has to send something…$10, anything…that‘s how we won in WI and it’s up to us, as always it is left for the adults to take control..
