Chris Matthews Grills GOP Chair: Wouldn‘t it Be ’Scary‘ to Have ’Anti-Intellectual’ Creationist as President?

Chris Matthews Grills Reince Priebus: Obama Walked into Hell EvolutionDespite the nation’s serious financial woes, it seems MSNBC’s Chris Matthews has more pressing concerns on his mind — namely that it would be unthinkable to have a president that doesn’t believe in evolution or climate change.

During Friday’s interview with Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, Matthews recalled a statement made by Jon Huntsman, in which the presidential hopeful stated he believed in evolution. That’s when Matthews launched in, asking Priebus:

“Aren’t you worried, though, that in a world where we have to compete with science, in science and technology with Chinese and Indian young geniuses, and some of them move here, and some that are still over in their countries around the world, we‘re competing in a world of science and technology to be a country that might be led by someone who doesn’t believe in evolution? Who doesn’t believe in climate change? Who doesn’t believe in the scientific community of his own country, the National Academy of Science, for example, on climate change? Wouldn’t that be kind of scary to have somebody who is so anti-intellectual as president?”

The banter between the two polar opposites continued for nearly ten minutes, getting rather heated at certain points. Priebus criticized President Obama for taking a vacation in Martha’s Vineyard during a time when the nation’s finances are in ruin, while a typically irate Matthews pressed Priebus to admit that Obama “walked into hell.”

Watch the fiery Harball exchange below.

Hey dimwit, the “theory” of evolution was developed in the mid 1800s. So none of our founding fathers believed in your Satanic nonsense. Why don’t you do the mathematical calculation on just how many mutations (ALL beneficial by the way) it would have taken to get from a lightning struck pile of ooze to a human, divide that by the number of years you claim life has been on the earth and calculate how many mutations per year would be required to account for just human life let alone all life. If your “theory” were true, human life would be mutating (All beneficially by the way) sever times a day.

There are an estimated 10 million species on earth all with thousands of unique cells, processes, chemicals, functions, etc. Now take into account that for all but the most basic life forms mutations are detrimental to the life form. Simple observation and 3rd grade math proves your “theory” false.

      YOU ARE A FOOL.

The science of genetics is undeniable. You don’t need to look any further than how humans have domesticated some species of animals using selective breeding and that only took a few generations.

yep, the planet most likely could not have been in the ‘window of life’, the sweet spot in the orbit, long enough for us to evolve from an amoeba. we are already getting to far away from the sun because it’s losing mass.

the big bang theory is the most illogical theory to date. “nothing exploded nothing which formed everything.” that is the big bang to me. there could NOT have been anything there to start with. what put it there? GOD can be that only answer. you fools… it’s always going to end in GOD. LOL. we can always ask, what put THAT there?! where did the first SEED come from, the very first seed, and what was that seed?! answer that…. all science dies in a black hole, yet God still remains.

we have more records over a longer course of time pointing to a Creator. here‘s what i don’t get.
we create life daily within labs, and we are mortal humans. you don‘t think it’s possible for a more an advanced creatue to have created us? and you believe in science?! just asking…

Matthews is a blubbering anti-intellectual. That aside, if Matthews believes believers are anti-intellectual then he must believe Obama and all other Democrats that went to church or quote the bible are just making dishonest political maneuvers. So he’s okay with dishonest politicians, but not with anyone who chooses creation theory over evolutionary theory? Personally, I choose honesty in people in positions of power. I don’t really care which theory they believe.
I witnessed a study between Democrats and Republicans firsthand. It involved over 1000 Democrats and 1000 Republicans and they asked about 20 fairly difficult questions to test their knowledge. The results were exactly the same. Both groups had the same percentage of correct answers. Neither proved to be any smarter than the other.
Although, I would bet Romney is both more intelligent than Matthews. Matthews seems rather dimwitted to me.

NO IT WOULD BE WORSE TO HAVE AN ATHEIST OR SOMEONE THAT PANDERS TO ATHEISTS…

Here is why, not all atheists, but most that I have known, atheists dislike believers and feel pressure against their beliefs, whether Christians put pressure or not. Automatically it is the Christians fault for any persecution that comes their way.

Obama doesn’t just pander to atheists, he panders to Muslims and other faith besides ‘his own.’ This is more dangerous because he does more to make them happy and support those than etiher being completely fair to all or starting to persecute the majority… the Christians.

Look at this atheist campaign to beat up Christians: http://url2it.com/grsn . I haven’t seen Christians attack atheists directly just trying to spread the message without attacks.

And since these Matthews certified “Scientists” believe in the Mayan version of the 2012 Life Extinction Event known as the end of the “Calendar” and since that is what were up against I guess that means that only those smart enough to store food for years of survival will be allowed to live in the years following the End of the World Mayan Calendar.

It’s a stupid argument. Any practical, marketable scientific/technological advancements have nothing to do with evolution or climate change. For example, the USB port. A simple device that has changed our lives, but do we ask if Ajay Bhatt believes in ID or global warming before we use it?

My position on ID has always been that it takes the easy way out, essentially stating that things are too complicated for us to understand, so why bother? When ID produces some useful insights instead of just pointing out/propagandizing current problems with evolution theory, I’ll gladly look into it.

If you want to see a lib/athiest/progressive, mess in their pants and run away crying, challenge them to a creation vs evolution debate in front of highschool age student. Tell them you will give equal time to speak, and time to prepare. They will never take you up on it. they have no species in transition, it violates the second law of thermodynamics, it can not be explained with genetics, the fossil records do not back them up. Darwin’s ideas were false, and they know it. In nature animals only adapt within the genetic makeup they alrady have. Mutations never help the animal, they usuall kill it.

They love to call themselves the intelectuals, but they are foolish. They always revert to name calling, and condescending behavior, because they have not arguement.

Hey there Chris, check out this quote from your annointed one. “And it was through that experience, working with pastors and laypeople, trying to heal the wounds of hurting neighborhoods, that I came to know Jesus Christ for myself and embrace him as my Lord and Savior.” Directly from the mouth of Obama. Tell me this, If Obama believs in the savior of the Bible, would he not always have to believe in creation? Why are you not up in arms over this? Why does this not infuriate you that same as if a conservative said the same quote.

Libs are fake. You notice they will not say similar comments to a muslim, and they shy away from ever knocking the religiion of African Americans.

First you say that “cell reproduction has an automatic fact checker and removes any mistakes” Then you say
“ Any mistakes in DNA synthesis that manage to make it into a living creature are not to the benefit of the species but to its detriment”
So you are saying that mutations can occur, but they can only have negative effects for the species. And, due to the “fact checking” mechanism they only occur extremely rarely, correct?
      Two questions:
      1) If you admit that mutation can and does occur, what insures that it is detrimental to the species?
      2) How do you explain bacteria that becomes resistant to antibiotics?

The creationists think that it is the evolutionists who are fools. Scientific law says that like begets like. A human can only produce a human and a monkey can only produce a monkey. DNA strengthens that law since cell reproduction has an automatic fact checker and removes any mistakes. Any mistakes in DNA synthesis that manage to make it into a living creature are not to the benefit of the species but to its detriment. DNA evidence also shows that every example of a missing link has been proven to be either full a monkey or fully a human, or pig or horse. Species are not able to produce offspring with members of other species. Even a horse and donkey though close enough related to produce offspring only produces sterile offspring. The laws of probability show that it is impossible for non-organic substances to evolve into organic substances and then to diversify into the multitude of species that exist today, which are fewer than existed several thousand years ago. Louis Pasteur and Francesco Redi proved in the 1860′s that spontaneous generation does not happen. To be continued….

Also, the known rate at which the moon is moving away from the earth has been used to determine that the earth can be no more than 10,000 yrs. old. If you look at geology through the eyes of a creationist rather than a disbeliever it is obvious that the earth has been inundated with a massive flood at some point in the past. Which is also where all the fossils came from. Fossils are rarely created today and yet are found in massive amounts all over the globe. A look at an ecosystem will show that everything needs to be there in order for it to work. The dead plant matter needs to be there to feed the plants, the plants need to be there to feed the herbivores, and the prey animals need to be there to feed the predators. Even the anatomical make up of water could not be a coincidence. It must be able to evaporate at common temperatures on earth, condense at temps. found at high atmospheres, rain down, freeze into snow and ice and melt throughout the year irrigating those ecosystems. We are also just the right distance from the sun to make it all happen just right. That just too many coincidences for me for there to be no God.

      Some food for thought..

Check out a very well educated gentlemen (A. E. Wilder-Smith – now passed away) who had three earned PhDs. He believed in Creationsim. http://www.wildersmith.org/

Here’s the nub of the matter to those who deny creationsim (or I suppose evolution if it were true for that matter). If you were presented with enough facts and information to reach the point of ontological certitude, would you change your mind? If not, then your issue is with morals and character, not an intellectual issue. Willfulness masquerading as inteiigence in that case I suppose.

How do you accept a different point of view? With ridicule? Closemindedness is never appealing.

The problem most folks have with creationism is that their ‘god’ is too small – usually limited by their minds. I can assure you He is not too small. :)

And for anyone who thinks that running someone else down is ‘smart’, think again. That goes both for those who are believers and those who are not. Shame on all of us.

Holy cow, even Darwin had problems with evolution. The main problem for evolutionists is that their theory requires support from historical science, not observational science. And as far as “micro-evolution” is concerned (i.e. a finch changing to a different species of finch) there is a loss of genetic information, so it is actually de-evolution. There is no added genetic information which would be required for evolution. As a result “macro-evolution” is even more of a pipe dream.

I tracked down Matthews’ comment about the “religious right” leading the Tea Party and all I could find was an excerpt from an upcoming book . It cited a poll, yet did not specify who was interviewed or give any of the raw data for the poll. I presume that it only included those either on the government teat or those that live in metro areas, not Middle America where the majority of us live. Matthews is a agenda-driven dolt.

How would “competing in a world of science and technology” have anything to do with evolution ?
What great strides have been made by believing in evolution ? What new technology ?
By comparison, the word of the Bible has led to the foundation of America.
The word of God has led to the most compassionate people the world will ever know.
Evolution leads to bones and that’s about it.

What is scary is leaders who don‘t have any problems with killing millions because they don’t beleive they have to answer to a higher being (Mao, Lenin, Stalin, etc..)

Have you ever heard a President whine so much about what he inherited?

I don’t recall Bush whining, on and on, about what he inherited from Clinton.

The tech bubble created during Clinton’s watch was beginning to crash when Bush to office.
The housing bubble created by Clinton and Cisneros ( The National Homeownership Strategy and revised CRA ). Forced lending to home buyers who could not afford a home. What could go wrong?
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? Bush tried to change them, the Dems would not let him.
Osama bin Laden, Clinton had multiple opportunities to take him out. Would 911 have happened if Clinton had OKed the plans to take bin Laden out?

Hey Obama, your not the only President who has inherited some problems.

    Grow up. Stop whining.

If you think the world is only 5 thousand years old. You are either willfully ignorant or an idiot.

The world is closer to 5 billion years old, there were dinosaurs, there was no flood that covered the world and religion is used to control your behavior, take your money and molest your children.

…but Chris Matthews is still a moron. At least we can agree on that.

Yes there were dinosaurs and we don‘t need big ol’ bones to prove it. They were mentioned in the Bible in the book of Job. But the world is not 5 billion years old, only a little over 6 thousand. It’s kind of funny how written history from all over the world sprang up about 3,500 to 5,000 years ago. Which by the way coincides with the Bible. Geologist can’t explain why there are what looks like older layers of earth on top of younger layers and why they look like the layers have been moved by a massive amount of water or huge flood of some kind. Maybe if they read their Bible they could figure it out. Did you know fossils can only be formed by denying them the thing that decompose them such as bugs, bacteria, and air, and one of the best way to do this is by covering them with a enough dirt that there are no bugs or bacteria. This rarely happens today. In fact the only fossils that are made today are not fossils but usually just frozen mountain climbers who begin to decompose as soon as they thaw out. Or they are people or animals that are buried in a landslide or flash flood. Yet there are billion of fossils found all over the world in huge fossil graveyards covering areas as large as 5 or 6 western states. I would bet these were preserved but The Flood. But don’t worry, I only have anatomy, biology, geology, astronomy, chemistry, archeology, and math to back up the Bible, nothing really credible like unsubstantiated opinion.

Homeschool: man created the concept of years, around the time of the beginning of Christianity. God didn‘t and still doesn’t deal with years, so the earth being 6000 years old is a fallacy to begin with because it is a man made concept that was convenient at the time.
