Chris Matthews: Let‘s ’Compromise’ and Grant Amnesty to Illegals

Rep. Steve King’s proposal to do away with “birthright citizenship” in the United States is drawing the ire of liberal Democrats and some hot-headed television anchors. Appearing on MSNBC Friday evening, the Iowa Republican defended his bill, arguing that the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution never intended to give automatic citizenship to so-called “anchor babies.”
Facing off against King was Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz., who defended the 14th Amendment according to his own interpretation. After some back-and-forth, MSNBC host Chris Matthews stepped in with a “compromise” for both parties: Why don’t we just grant blanket amnesty to everyone and move on?

Talking to these people is an immense waste of time, and I truly hope that the new House doesn’t even dream (or DREAM, for that matter) of “compromising” with these people. Not even by the actual meaning of the word. That‘s like going in with a mass murderer who wants to kill 20 people and deciding it’s best to kill only 10. Um, no.

In 1998 the federal gov’t stopped enforcing the border vigorously almost completely stopped workplace enforcement of immigration laws. These actions caused those getting off welfare to have to compete head-on with illegal immigrants. The result: massive poverty, huge increase in illegal population, huge increase in the uninsured (health and auto), etc. This was planned increase in poverty. The Dems/Repubs are both screwing the American people; now they want to offer us a solution of Amnesty. The air national guard is military, the coast guard is military, and the border patrol is … civilian. I think I see the weak link.

Posted on January 7, 2011 at 11:26pmSorry but I have to agree with Rep King, the first part of the 14th amendment, as to its intent, was geared toward Native American’s and Freed Slaves and does not and should not apply to illegal aliens.
Regardless of the intent of the illegal alien as to why they came to this country they have broken the law by illegal entry, I don’t care whether it be a misdemeanor or a felony they still broke the law and the only protection they should have under the 14th is that of due process and equal protection under the law and that is the most they should get.
Some will call me racist or bigoted or whatever and they would be totally wrong. Some would claim that I am against immigration, and again they would be wrong. I have friends of differing nationalities, creeds and even sexual orientation, and I wholeheartedly believe in LEGAL Immigration and will welcome anyone that immigrates here LEGALLY. I also believe that we should be enforcing the laws that are one the books.
Now as to the claim by some that there is hypocrisy in praising and standing upon the values of the Constitution, and setting forth to amend the specific clause in the 14th, sorry they are wrong again.
The Constitution, as we see it today is not the original one that was drafted, voted on, and ratified by 1787, hence the amendments that appear today in the document. The amendment process allows that the Constitution does not become and outdated document but rather a document that can stand the test of time so there is nothing wrong with proposing what Rep King has nor would there be anything wrong with adjusting the amendment should the bill pass.

You walk into some dayum convienent store and lord and behold Habib and his wife and 5 youngins running the thing, Habib and his extended family own every 1 1/2 star hotel in every corner of this country, A dozen plus Mexicans can be found at nearly any construction site, there mammies work in all these hotels as house maids, goto any freaking emergency room and rest assure they have that clogged up. And lets not leave out the second most ILLegals Asians. Hell my favorite chinese restuarant employs more Mexicans than they do there own or Americans. Either we as Americans stand up and support these congressmans that want to get a grip on this issue or it will never go away. We need to go back and Implement “Operation ******* of 1954” plain and simple. Im sick of it. My sons a mail carrier and boy he has told me some stories about illeagals and 10 different names getting social service mail at the same address. We have Identified them, now we need to isolate them, then give a one way boot back across the Rio Grande.

If a person is born here then they are citizens and you will serve at least 10 years in the military. No exemptions, unless three military doctors state the citizen is physically or mentally disabled. If the citizen claims religious or conscientious objector, then the citizen will be placed in a non-combatant role, working US infrastructure problems, but still must serve, period. People who do not show for service will have their citizenship and all rights and services (i.e. entitlements, voting, medical, etc) afforded to citizens revoked. You never know it might work or at least the snow will be plowed and the potholes will be fixed.
