On Wednesday, MSNBC host Chris Matthews welcomed Wisconsin AFCSME executive director Marty Beil, calling him “the real thing” when it comes to knowing what workers need and want in a workplace. According to Beil, workers who don’t belong to a union “have no dignity.”
Following the interview, Matthews discovers Beil is a former organizer from Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), a radical and sometimes violent 1960s-era organization known for their undaunted pursuit of “social justice” — a left-wing background Matthews praises as “just great”:

Write a check to a homeless guy of your savings that you earned through a capitalistic company and throw away everything you own that is derived from oil. I always laugh at the “hypocrite” who is for animal rights who wears a leather belt and leather shoes!!! And the anti-big oil person who owns material things made from a biproduct of oil and who incidently drives a car to work. “Hypocrites”!!! Need I say more.

Posted on February 24, 2011 at 8:16amI don’t work for a union and I have a lot of dignity in the workplace because I am treated as an individual, not just a number or a machine, which is the way I felt when I was in a union.

Posted on February 24, 2011 at 7:57amIf I live to be 100 I’ll never understand how ANYone could actually WANT to live in a socialist country. These are people who *claim* to know their history. Well I loved history; I couldn‘t get enough of it and I don’t ever remember reading about a successful socialist country where the government and people lived and worked happily, hand in hand, in a utopian existence.

Posted on February 24, 2011 at 2:55amNo matter what Beck says – not all SDS members were bad or criminals. Most of them were just protesting an illegal war where our friends and neighbors were getting drafted to go. Most of you probably have no idea what it is to live under a draft in a war that most of the country did not believe in!

Posted on February 24, 2011 at 5:46amActually “66- I lived through that era. Proudly served in Vietnam with the Marines. Illegal war? In your revolutionary, leftist delusions!! The country started out in support of Viet Nam; support waned over time as the political will of the liberal left (LBJ et al) waned. It lacked the courage to go for victory. As for the SDS and other “resistance” groups- you were successful; your side won! We left the Vietnamese in the hands of the communists with their reeducation camps and other forms of totalitarianism. Your ilk escaped being held responsible for your traitorous acts. And now it seems
that you are safely esconced in academia, union movement, media, and enviromental causes. You were gutless, self centered phonies then and now. You may not get off so lucky this time around!

Report Post »Peace and Love…remember? By the way, I enlisted…did you?
The war was a cause grabbed by the ultra-left to enlist people to their cause who were disspleased with their life and with the USA; it was a hobby for people. Notice how many brag about their youth versus the ones who would rather you not know about their indescretions. Big crowd behind you now?
After all the hate for America, they still didn’t move out did they. Funny how no matter how bad they say it is here, they never leave.
