Chris Matthews Makes The Most Ironic Accusation Against Romney of the 2012 Election Cycle

Chris Matthews, perhaps most famous for his statement that he got a “thrill up his leg” watching Barack Obama, really pulled out a doozy in tonight’s episode of Hardball. In a segment featuring Susan Page of USA Today and Howard Fineman of the Huffington Post, Matthews accused presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney of trying to run a campaign focused solely on hiding who Romney himself is and attacking President Obama as unacceptable.
“It seems like all he wants us to do is look at the GDP, it’s not growing fast enough, put in the relief pitcher, don’t even ask who the relief pitcher is. Don’t think about it – by the way, Santorum’s no good, Newt’s no good, don’t look at me, they’re no good, so you gotta take me,” Matthews screeched. “It’s all about a process of elimination, and he’s the last man standing, but don’t look at him! So when we get him as President some day, all of a sudden we’ve got to look at him, ‘my God, we made him President, because he was the only alternative, and wow, do we really want this?’”
Of course, Matthews‘ description of Romney’s supposed strategy could just as easily have been the playbook for President Obama, whose entire campaign strategy in 2008 effectively boiled down to saying he was the only alternative to four more years of Bush-style governance.
Of course, the Tea Party’s response was exactly what Matthews predicted: “My God, we made him President, because he was the only alternative, and wow, do we really want this?”

Report Post »Mutiny
Posted on May 16, 2012 at 8:09am@kenny
Because Mitt doesnt cut spending and offers no real differences between himself and Obama is why he will get crushed if he is the nominee. So Mitt has zero chance of being the next president. If we collapse like I think we will there will be no real elections ever again. Mitt nor Obama can stop that collapse from happening because they are both in the pocket of the big global banks which are pushing for our collapse. After the US goes down there is nothing stopping the one world government from happening. Remember the rest of the world will not be brought up to our level, we will be brought down to theirs.

Posted on May 16, 2012 at 7:34pm@Mutiny, with the Oregon primary results just in, Romney has 989 delegates to Paul’s 104. Kentucky (45), Arkansas (36), and Texas (155) primaries on 22 & 29 May respectively. Romney should have the required 1144 delegates by the end of the month. If not, California (172) will put him over the top (and then some) on 5 June. At that point, the delegates are bound to Romney. Paul’s attempts to steal delegates at the local/state levels won’t work. I don’t know how to make it any simpler than that.

Posted on May 15, 2012 at 10:08pmI can site many examples of the Left doing this. Alan Colmes claimed that the media did more favorable coverage on Romney than Obama, today on The Factor. The Leftists now frequently use the term “flip flopping” which Republicans made famous against John F. Kerry. Whenever the Right wins an argument over the Left, the Left adopts it for their own. I think it’s referred to as “projection” in psychology. Obama is clearly a narcissist himself. That means in his mind, he creates the day, and we are all puppets on his stage. When you hear him say things that are transparently untrue, it is because in his book, nothing he did or said yesterday counts anymore. He is writing a new script for us, and as his puppets we all must go along with it. To me, Obama appears to be just a classic Narcissist. Not a Sociopath. If he is the classic Narcissist, it means he is a sniveling coward, who hides in his world of denial. The Narcissist will rage when challenged because they feed on “attention”, and he wants to keep the supply coming. His very existence depends on it. But the rage is just that. Nothing but a temper tantrum. I’m believing less and less that Soros and others want to keep stringing their little boy along. Obama has made too many miscalculations and he’s just too much trouble. They’ll go back into their underground lair together and try to conjure up another one, and this time they will have learned from their mistakes. Let’s hope most Americans have

Posted on May 15, 2012 at 11:07pmCOSMOS102, I see that you have taken Psych 102 and for your amateur psychological analysis of the President. He’s a “narcissist.” Okay, that’s your diagnosis.
One thing you might want to consider is no one gets through the election process, and becomes President of the United States if they don’t have supreme self-confidence. No one gets elected President if they can’t organize and move a large portion of the the population to donate money, to work on their behalf and then vote for them. That’s what it takes to be elected. Does that make a person a “narcissist?” Since anyone who become President does that, does that mean everyone who supports his Presidency are “puppets who must go along?” Or does your definition of narcissist only apply to this President and not to any other President?
A President who devoted much of his life to helping the poor and disadvantaged, and now speaks for the vast majority of Americans rather than the privileged few – he’s a narcissist? And someone like Romney, who has pledged to reduces taxes for himself and people in his class of super-rich people, while raising taxes on you and me – he’s NOT a narcissist?
COSMOS, you’d better hit the books again, because your knowledge and your understanding of politics is pretty shallow.

If he did not support Obama in 2008 and showed that non-support through the media to influence voters, Obama might not have been president.
During Obama’s watch, the US economy has been plundered..the HEAVENS CLOSED ITS WINDOWS (no blessing coming down) AND THE DEVOURERS ARE NOT REBUKED.
Not so in ROMNEY’S watch… THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN SHALL BE OPENED AND A BLESSING SHALL BE POURED ON AMERICA THAT THERE WILL BE NO ROOM TO CONTAIN IT. THE DEVOURERS SHALL ALSO BE REBUKED FOR ROMNEY’S SAKE.
ROMNEY, being a faithful tither, can collect on GOD’S promise because he is obedient. He will be a vessel GOD will use to save America. The problems of America and the world are huge. We need to team up with that ALMIGHTY HAND who is able, for NOTHING IS TOO HARD FOR HIM.
