Chris Matthews Tells Will Ferrell Why His Son Is ‘Left’ of Obama: ‘He’s Such a Perfectionist…’

MSNBCs Chris Matthews Tell Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis His Perfectionist Son is Left of Obama in Interview for The Campaign

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews was interviewing Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis on Hardball Tuesday, when he asked the duo whether they believed their upcoming film The Campaign would inspire young people to vote.

After proudly playing his own cameo in the film, Matthews said: “Let me ask you a serious question. I watched the movie last night with my two boys, and I was thinking– they’re in their twenties, well one just turned thirty– but I was thinking, is this going to help young people their age vote?”

Rather than directly respond, Ferrell asked: “What did they say?”

“Well, they’re going to vote because I’m going to talk to them about it and I’m going to encourage it…” Matthews began.

“Although, one of my kids is now to the left of Obama, which I gotta work on a little bit…” the Hardball host added. “He’s a perfectionist. He’s mad about GITMO…a lot of people are.”

Viewers are then forced to ask if, by Matthews’ reasoning, the further left you lean, the closer to perfect you become? And if political perfectionists are to the left of Obama, what does that make conservatives? Slobs?

Though Ferrell and Galifianakis say they tried to refrain from making the movie overtly right or left-leaning, they apparently agree on campaign finance reform.

Responding to Matthews’ question about the “evils” of the Koch brothers, Ferrell said that they first tried to get people in the door with a funny film but, “underneath that, there’s that message of, you know, we need to keep an eye on this, otherwise this system is not [going] to work…”

Galifianakis added: “If a couple of 17-year-olds see the movie and they’re not really politically aware, and they discuss it after the movie– all of the money and Citizens United, that’s a good discussion for teenagers to start having, I think.”

Matthews concluded: “I think people ought to see this movie…It’s a great movie for the summer– lot of fun, lot of truth in it.”

  Man-crush Matthews is a gushing, fawning buffoon for Barack Obama. He has nothing of any value to offer anyone.
  As for the film..“tried hard not to make it overtly right or left” from a partisan lefty elitist like Ferrell is like Bin Laden saying..“I tried hard not to mess up the buildings around the WTC or disrupt the commute that morning”. I have no intention of seeing it or anything with Will Ferrell’s name to it.

I came on here just to tell the Blaze that if they stopped posting this crap, MSNBC would go away for good. But I read this and am once again disappointed. Do you really not know what Mathews meant? Are you really going to make me defend this jacka$$?

It’s clear that when Mathews said his son was a politican perfectionist, he meant he expects Obama to be “perfect” (i.e. fullfill all the liberal agenda). The clue is in the fact he mentioned Guantanamo. Liberals are mad Obama didn’t close it. And Mathews is correct. There are a lot of “political perfectionists”. How many times have we heard people (like me for example), say they won’t vote for Romney because of X or Y? There is no perfect candidate. This was Mathews point and f*** you for making me stand up for him.

We get that Government is a Parasite that eventually kills the Host. Over and over in History this lesson is taught with tons of Blood and Treasure but, some people, never get to the obvious conclusion that Government should be Feared and Controlled, not Adored.
