I’ll say this again. When I “lean forward, watching MSNBC, I tend to emit a few fumes. When I lean further forward, I give birth to Matthews-Olbermann-Maddow look-alikes. When I look in the afterbirth behind me I see Ed “Throw a ball at the dunk tank dummy” Schultz’s smiling face. Did you know his TV farse is sponsored by Preparation H? How fitting. Now back the the NEWS.

All the commies are going down because the light of truth is brightly shining on them and they must run from it as they are the soldiers of darkness and MUST stay out of the light. They will run into obscurity , let’s hope we stay with God so they will be forever gone from our eyes!

Mathews thinks that talking louder than everyone else (literally) makes him smarter and more in the know. In reality, it just shows that he has a bigger mouth. I can see, however, that he does have enough intelligence to see the upcoming changes that are necessary, but he just doesn’t know how the turn the corner. Olberman, however, is nothing more than a loudmouth who enjoys calling people names. When the elections are over, so will he be-and good bye. He is the reason I and MANY others do not even take the minimal effort to change the TV channel to see what they have to say.
Get rid of this clod and you will improve your ratings.

I am so sick and tired of the only thing progressives can do is insult and degrade any conservative. It is all the time, everywhere. Do they have no moral ground? Do they have no conscious? Anything that comes out of their mouths anymore is hate, insults, degrading, and just plain rudeness. They are a sick bunch of insecure, nasty, hate mongrels. I find it interesting and telling that the people who bring up the “Know Nothing Party” in order to insult the conservative movement get the facts wrong about the “Know Nothings”.

In fact the term for the Native American Party of 1843 “Know Nothing” meant “I’m not telling you anything about it“ not ”I am not in posession of any facts”.

That both these definitions, as well as what the group stand for, has nothing in common with the TEA Parties or the limited government conservatives just shows these pundits are the ones who actually know nothing.

Sarah Palin is only “polarizing” because the media portray (!) her as “polarizing” and portray (!) her as “far right” to frighten off voters.

But in reality ,Sarah Palin is mainstream ;every position she has is supported by the MAJORITY of America.

Sarah Palin is standing with the MAJORITY of Americans who feel the same way she does on healtcare , abortion, smaller government , lower taxes , energy independence and securing the border.

Sarah Palin has a long record of achievement and experience in public office.Prior her election as Governor, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council and two terms as the mayor of Wasilla. During her tenure, she reduced property tax levels while increasing services and made Wasilla a business-friendly environment, drawing in new industry.

If you want to talk about her tenure in AK, you may want to consider her balanced budgets. She left the state with an $8 billion rainy day fund and a $1 billion education fund and a budget smaller than her predecessor’s. She broke up the Corrupt B*stards Club of Republican politicians and oil company execs than ran Alaska and reset the system used for reimbursing Alaska for the use of its resources. Then there’s the gas pipeline that was talked about for decades and she got passed. How did she do it? She worked with democrats against some Republican opposition, which dispels the myth that she’s some kind of right wing nut case.

Sarah Palin’s successful efforts to stop the cronyism and reform the energy business in Alaska were so impressive Kay Cashman, the publisher and executive editor of Petroleum News, wrote the book entitled: “Sarah Takes On Big Oil” . This is a must read for anyone who wants to understand the leadership Sarah Palin has exhibited in the area of reforming government and industry.

Sarah Palin is past chair of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, a multistate government agency that promotes the conservation and efficient recovery of domestic oil and natural gas resources while protecting health, safety and the environment. She also served as chair of the National Governors Association (NGA) Natural Resources Committee, which was charged with pursuing legislation to ensure state needs are considered as federal policy is formulated in the areas of agriculture, energy, environmental protection and natural resource management.

While Governor Palin has a history of being a reformer and taking on powerful interests for the benefit of ordinary people, Obama’s history is that of a tool of special interests, be they unions, trial lawyers, ACORN, or Wall Street.

Obama is not a tool of Wall Street. The bailout of Wall Street banks was started by Bush, not Obama, and the Fed Chairman strongly encouraged both administrations to protect the banks to avoid a total meltdown of credit in this country. You are as unfair as you are ignorant of what happened two years ago. More importantly, Obama’s efforts to write tougher regulations to rein in Wall Street were fought by the GOP, so you could argue that the Republicans, not the Dems, are the true tool of Wall Street. As for the other special interest groups, their power is far less than that of the utilities, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and defense industries, which remain staunch supporters of the GOP. Special interests are bad, but the GOP’s bunch is downright scary.

ABC, there are so many very important provisions NOT included in the reform bill that help the gang on Wall Street. There are so many sneaked in provisions that have nothing to do with financial reform but violate individual liberties. We know that Obama received big buck donations from some Wall Street firms. He is just a left leaning version of the game to destroy the middle class.

That said, I’m proud of Obama for pocket vetoing the passed bill that would absolve many on Wall Street from criminal charges. I doubt McCain would have done that. Give a person credit and pat on the back when deserved.

The last twenty months have shown to us that we have a President, who despite running on a platform of transparent and accountable government, has closed the doors to government transparency meetings, did not show health care reform discussions on CSPAN as promised, and hid information regarding the severity of the largest oil spill in the nation’s history. On the other hand, Governor Palin during her time as Governor, put the state checkbook online so that her constituents could see where state money was being spent and ensured that all Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA) applicants’ proposals were available for public consumption.

During his time in office, President Obama has added more to the national debt than Presidents Washington through Reagan combined through massive spending projects like the nearly trillion dollar stimulus package, jobs bill, and health care reform act. President Obama promised to not sign any legislation with earmarks, yet broke this promise. During three legislative sessions as Governor, Governor Palin invested $5 billion in savings and cut spending 9.5 % between her FY10 budget and her predecessor’s FY07 budget. She also cut earmark requests by 80% in a state that has been known for bringing in the D.C. pork.

      Posted on October 18, 2010 at 1:36pm

You do understand that Alaska takes federal subsidies from Washington and then pays out negative taxes to its citizens, right? Of course in such a circumstance the government wouldn’t mind putting up a list of its budgetary items on the web. But that is a polticial stunt for a state so flush with cash. Palin would and could never do that at the federal level, and only a fool would be impressed by such tactics.

Obama was less transparent than he promised, but more transparent than the prior two administrations. Bush kept the funding of two wars off balance sheet and allowed so many earmarks that even other Republicans squirmed. Clinton’s oversight of campaign dollars was so lax that the Chinese could make contributions–although now the Republicans have no problems with this lax system (how ironic!). Obama managed to keep earmarks out of the $800B+ stimulus package, as promised and has spoken out against actions by the SCOTUS and the GOP to undermine campaign finance reform and anonymous donors. On the issue of transparency, context matters and you supply none.

Sarah Palin is in lock-step with the American people on the majority of the issues: immigration, health care reform, off shore drilling, extending the Bush tax cuts, the mosque at Ground Zero, etc. Regarding gravitas, Governor Palin has written, spoken, and commented on issues ranging from the devaluing of the US dollar to the bureaucratization of health care to the Obama administration’s stance on Israel to the overreach of the EPA. She is comfortable discussing social, economic, environmental, regulatory, foreign, and national security issues.

With regards to leadership, Governor Palin has led a town, a state, and has co-led a family. She has private sector experience in working in journalism and her family’s fishing business. She has public sector experience with her time as city councilwoman, mayor, and governor. She has experience with negotiations between the public and the private sector with her work on AGIA. She worked across party lines with ethics reform legislation. Since stepping aside from the Governor’s office, she has been the leading voice of conservatism. When other supposed leaders are busy sticking their finger in the wind or sitting on the fence when it comes to current policy, Governor Palin has stood strongly for conservative values and commonsense.

With regards to political achievements, in three legislative sessions as Governor, in addition to what has already been mentioned, she forward funded education, passed major ethics reform, revamped the oil taxation code to make it more inline with the Alaska constitution, and increased funding for children with special needs. She rejected stimulus funds that were unsustainable and had strings attached. She stood firmly for the 10th amendment on numerous occasions and was a constant proponent of energy independence. She took on the Establishment of both parties and won.

This is more than a little biased.

“Sarah Palin is in lock-step with the American people on the majority of the issues: immigration, health care reform, off shore drilling, extending the Bush tax cuts, the mosque at Ground Zero, etc.”

She is also not in lock-step with American people on a bunch of other issues, like abortion, the Iraq War, resisting unemployment benefits to the structurally unemployed, disclosure of campaign contributions, etc.

“Regarding gravitas, Governor Palin has written, spoken, and commented on issues ranging from the devaluing of the US dollar to the bureaucratization of health care to the Obama administration’s stance on Israel to the overreach of the EPA. She is comfortable discussing social, economic, environmental, regulatory, foreign, and national security issues.”

Sarah Palin didn’t know that Africa was a continent, not a country, during the prep for her VP debate. On the campaign trail, Palin made numerous statements about the energy industry that were factually incorrect, even when those facts related to her home state. For example, she insisted that Alaska could replace Saudi Arabia as the swing producer in the world although all of Alaska’s current and potential production (measured by proved reserves) is not large enough to serve as such a swing producer, since it is an order of magnitude smaller than Saudi excess supply. Her views on Israel and the EPA are outside majority opinion, according to numerous polls.

“With regards to leadership, Governor Palin has led a town, a state, and has co-led a family. She has private sector experience in working in journalism and her family’s fishing business. She has public sector experience with her time as city councilwoman, mayor, and governor. She has experience with negotiations between the public and the private sector with her work on AGIA. She worked across party lines with ethics reform legislation.”

Palin’s executive expertise in government amounts to running places with very small populations. Burbank, Pasadena and Glendale, which are a fraction of the responsibilities of our mayor in Los Angeles, have more people than the state of Alaska. Her private sector experience as a journalist and part-time fisherman is thinner than her public sector experience and not very impressive. She is a pundit, rather than a journalist, which is merely an extension of her political celebrit. Her fishing business may not even be profitable, since there are no verifiable records to establish it has been run properly or that she has done much of the managing of it. You take this on faith, because your support of Palin is not predicated on facts.

“Since stepping aside from the Governor’s office, she has been the leading voice of conservatism. When other supposed leaders are busy sticking their finger in the wind or sitting on the fence when it comes to current policy, Governor Palin has stood strongly for conservative values and commonsense.”

And this leadership of conservative values necessarily puts her into the minority of the country, given the percentage of Americans that are self-declared conservative.

“With regards to political achievements, in three legislative sessions as Governor, in addition to what has already been mentioned, she forward funded education, passed major ethics reform, revamped the oil taxation code to make it more inline with the Alaska constitution, and increased funding for children with special needs.”

It is easy to fully fund education when your state is so flush with money from commodities that it has a negative income tax. Her revamping of the oil taxation code amounted to a huge increase in income taxes on energy companies. If Obama had done this, he’d be called a Communist, but since Palin did it we say that it brings taxation inline with the constitution. Please. She merely adopted the internationally standardized system of payments to governments for drilling and extraction. How much credit do you want to give her for bringing Alaska into the mainstream? Passing additional funding for special needs kids, which is a solidly liberal idea, is being championed by the same people that attack Pelosi for undertaking similar legislation. That Palin did it because she has a special needs kids makes her efforts more selfish than those of liberals who fight for the downtrodden whose problems such liberals do not face. Finally, her ethics investigations were good, but politically motivated. She herself came under ethics investigations by the GOP-controlled state assembly, and she was officially rebuked for actions that were found to be ethically questionable.

“She rejected stimulus funds that were unsustainable and had strings attached.”

She was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it, and the public record clearly shows this. You are spinning badly here.

“She stood firmly for the 10th amendment on numerous occasions…”

The Supreme Court has a long history of not aggressively applying the 10th amendment given its very vague wording. Palin has absolutely no legal training, so her opinion should be heavily discounted on the issue in comparison to the well-educated legal scholars and judges who have taken a markedly different view on the 10th amendment, including conservatives.

“…and was a constant proponent of energy independence.”

Not a brave position to take from a state with a large energy industry.

“She took on the Establishment of both parties and won.”

But now she IS the establishment.

Palin has more astute ideas and ideals than these Progressives and Democrats are willing to give her credit for. The more they seek to denigrate her, the more she jokes about it, the more they make her shine in the light of the truth.

Let people make up their own mind, let the truth come out of the darkness and be made open for all to be seen.

I have an idea of a new promo for messnbc and cnn. They could do a takeoff of the 3 monkeys hearing, speaking, and seeing no evil. They would have to change it to “nothing, but evil” and it would star Mathews, Schultz, and Obermann.

      To drbage

Better be careful, Rachel Maddow wasn’t on the list. Her feelings may be hurt. It’s not PC to leave someone out. That could be dangerous.

I just came across a photo blog on MSNBC of all places that doesn’t show the Tea Party as a bunch of crazed racists. How did they let this happen?

      See it here- http://photoblog.msnbc.msn.com/faces-of-the-tea-party
