Not even liberal MSNBC host can get behind Kentucky Democrat Jack Conway’s latest attack on Republican Rand Paul… and when questioned, Conway himself has trouble defending it:
While Conway has some Democrats condemning his campaign tactics, he remains the face of progressives’ continuing attacks on conservative Republicans like Dr. Rand Paul for their support of privatizing Social Security.

Posted on October 19, 2010 at 1:14pmI am also from Louisville and there is no point to defend Paul through the courier journal. Paul was on Hannity’s radio show yesterday and there is something to the story, but nothing to what Conway is making it out to be. Paul was hesitant to answer any questions about the club, however, this should be a non issue considering it was 30 years ago.
The $2,000 deductible which is the only thing he brings up in debates (you would think a a career politician would be more polished than this guy) is a stupid argument since, as others have said, it is similar to what Obamacare does as it takes into effect. Rand should just focus on three points in the last debate.
Report Post »1. Do you support Obamacare – wont answer because it cuts medicare by $500 billion
2. If he does not – won’t answer that because he angers his left wing base
3. Finally if undecided as he has been when asked before, it just means that KY would have a senator that could be just bought off for a pork belly project like Bayou Buyback or the Cornhusker Kickback.
All three is not what KY needs.

The truth is he was talking about future recipients. What he neglects to tell you you is he supports Obama care which imposes a 1500 dollar deductible on current recipients and because of Obama care my deductible has gone from 1000 dollar deductible to a 5000 dollar deductible. My guess is that Jack Conway is either NOT a religious person or attends a fundamentalist or evengelical congregation. The very foundation of Christianity is the the ATONEMENT of Jesus Christ that encoyurages and blesses us greatly when we truly repent. Or sins are washed away and God never remembers them. Posted on October 19, 2010 at 1:33amJZS, Fact is that Obama went to school in Indonesia. His father certified that he was a Muslim. Now perhaps he has changed but I wouldn’t call Rev Wright a good example of Christianity where he attended for 20 years. Wright teaches liberation theology which often denies that Christ came to atone for individual sins. That’s the very foundation of the Christian message. NOT group redemption as Obama has said many times. Reject the foundation and whole structure falls. So its meaningless to say Obama is a Christian.

Posted on October 19, 2010 at 8:35amA large and dangerous point of this all is being missed:
Beware, Mathews isn’t really turning colors here . . . having a change of heart. What he has done is publically scolded a lad. He’s brought him up to his self exalted chair and sat him down to get reprimanded so that liberals that follow after this cycle understand better how to play the game of character assassin. Mr. Conway, just as David Axelrod did last week, accusing the GOP of getting foreign money through the US Chamber of Commerce, made a large mistake. The media can’t spin straw into gold; it makes them look incredibly stupid.
What you’re seeing here, from the liberal media, is recognition that liberals are too desperate and are acting like it. In the course of their desperation Democrats are flailing around grabbing at anything they can. But the media, they know. They can’t put a saddle on a dead horse and sell it. The media is taking the lead and telling their accomplices that it’s over, for now. They’re cutting their losses and repositioning for a surge after November, for 2012.
To prove this, with the same intensity, it would be very interesting to see Mathews questioned and then answer to all of the lies that he has said about Mr. Rush Limbaugh over the recent years. What he is accusing Conway of here, Mathews himself has perpetrated the same over and over again but in more intense ways against conservatives and their faith.
What we have here is a demonstration of how liberals, Democrats in general, melt back into the fabric of reasonable and moderate positions after they over reach, when they’re faced with being back in the minority, of losing their positions of power and influence. Mr. Mathew’s wears his loyalty to journalism like a chameleon changes its colors. He’s very dangerous because he knows no loyalty to the constructs of journalism or its constitutionally provided mission; the role that it is supposed play in our democracy.
But what’s worse, Mathews has grossly violated his professionalism in the recent past, not thirty years ago while in college, or while intellectually maturing and growing. Mr. Mathews, at his ripe age, willingly and as an informed professional, promoted anti-Christian/anti-conservative images to aid Obama’s run for the presidency. Chris Mathews, as a journalist, swore allegiance to a political party and became an advocate for an ideology. He no longer has journalist credibility.
Now that’s just on the surface. When you look at the ideology that he embraced and promoted, it was one that could not gain any traction in the US without deceptions. And with that, we are getting at the heart of liberalism’s rise and now fall as we’re watching Mathews attempt to re-position himself as a serious journalist, but only to aid in that fall, so that it lands softly and can make a resurgence.
You are an advocate Mr. Mathews. You pulled the trigger; the round is down range; you can’t take it back; you are a character assassin, nothing more. But Mr. Mathews . . . we don’t forget. We know the things that you said about Limbaugh, about conservatives, about Christianity, about the Tea Party . . . we are keeping our eye on our enemies. We are teaching our children who our enemies are and how they operate . . . how you operate.
Why don’t you Mr. Mathews, get in front of the camera and profess to America that you denounce all that you have done to promote the destruction of America through your abuse of the powers given to you as a journalist? Why don’t you denounce Liberalism and expose it for what it is and then publically tell America the truth about Limbaugh and the truth about why you have led the charge to destroy him in any way that you could invent? Do you understand Mr. Mathews, that by attempting to destroy Limbaugh, you attempted to destroy us?
We won’t be holding our breath . . . but we are watching what you’re doing.
