Christian Pakistani Woman Sentenced to Death for Allegedly Insulting Islam

A Christian Pakistani woman was convicted of blasphemy last week for reportedly insulting Islam and the prophet Muhammad. Now, the Pakistani prosecutor is defending the government’s actions.
The conviction stems from an alleged June 2009 incident that took place in a field, when some Muslim women refused to accept drinking water from Asia Bibi because she was a Christian. That reportedly led to Bibi’s controversial comments on Islam:
CNN details the extent of Bibi’s alleged insults:
She said that “the Quran is fake and your prophet remained in bed for one month before his death because he had worms in his ears and mouth. He married Khadija just for money and after looting her kicked her out of the house,” local police official Muhammad Ilyas told CNN.
“When I heard the decision my heart ached,” Bibi’s husband Ashiq Masih told CNN regarding the conviction.
Masih denies his wife ever insulted Muhammad. Threats, he said, forced him and his daughters, one of them disabled, to flee their village.
A Muslim prosecuter recently defended the case, refusing to answer questions about his own conscious, and said that the conviction is based on Pakistani law not Muslim law:
According to CNN, human rights groups see Pakistan’s blasphemy laws as a way to persecute religious minorities, including Christians and minority Muslims.

These people have allowed themselves to become sub human by choice. To sentence a person to death for blasphemy shows that islam is not a religion of peace. There is no moderation in it. When muslims are allowed to become the majority this will be the norm across the face of the earth. In this country the muslims do not even need to be the majority. The groups that support them in this country are on the left and and they are using the muslim issue to show that those of us that do not support islam are racists.These are the people, the communists, socialists, liberal Christians, liberal Jews, and the unions are the ones that will aloow this to happen to forward their own agendas. When they are under the knife it will be to late for them and us.

He had to leave his village because of his conversion, and if he ever returned, he would have been killed. Though Americans are tolerant of every religion, the muslim is tolerant of none. They can build their mosques in America, but if you lived in a muslim country it would be very doubtful that you could build your Christian Church in their country.

Also, how do you prove historical account in the Quran, because it cannot be done. The Bible, on the other hand proves SCIENCE, HISTORY, and MATHEMATICS, as well as is a COMPLETE WORK inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT. You want us to believe in a religion that has been called by scholars a disjointed book that contradicts itself. I would be interested to know what brings a muslim to accept Islam and the teachings of Mohammed. Is it the promise of eternal life, or what? I cannot decide what it is as I read the Quran, because there is NO REAL ASSURANCE of eternal life or the forgiveness of sins in the Quran. You may believe what you want, but I would want some assurance that if I am going to stake my soul on a belief, there better be a good reason.

Banning minarets and burkas is like waging a war on dresses and certain buildings. Folly. It is the Jihad that must be stopped. This can only be done by those steeped in the Islamic world. I fear it will never happen.
It will take a world-wide awakening to the fact that where Islam interfaces with non-Islam, Jihad follows.Once that is done, then effective victories against Islamic encroachments can be had. Mohammed is the ultimate “spooky dude.”

If you and Mr. Butcher actually did YOUR research, you would realize that the existence of GOD can be neither proven nor disproven. Much like cosmology theories, it is a matter of faith as the EVIDENCE will always be interpreted according to your worldview and religious beliefs.
A careful comparison of the Sumerian and Babylonian texts with Genesis reveals that the history related in Genesis in fact predates that of Sumer. I can provide you with references if you would be willing to review them with an open mind; somehow I suspect you would not be so willing.
The evidence of God and His special creation is all around you but you refuse to see it. Instead you make yourselves feel better by denigrating those of us who do believe in God.

Are you really that stupid or do you just throw that out to rile people up? The PROBLEM with islam is that it is a religion that advocates the death penalty for speaking your mind. THE DEATH PENALTY. Did you not read the story to which these comments refer? Freedom of religion ends when it bumps up against someone elses fundamental human rights, like life, for example. If I believe in human sacrifice as a part of my religion, does that give me the right to slit my neighbor’s throat in order to make an offering to my god? Your ignorance is astounding.

I’m sick oh hearing Beck go on and on about peace and love, even going so far as to desecrate MLKs speech, when all of his sheep are just angry white people looking to kill everyone that’s different because their Republican gods are destroying American by busting unions and sending jobs overseas.
You‘re all so blind it’s a wonder you can type. Take a look at the comments of ANY story on this site that involves Muslims for example. So many hate-filled posts about having “a finger on the trigger” and “I’ll die fighting to stop it”. A bunch of mentally unstable hypocrites.

When I learned of her death sentence, a letter to her was sitting in my purse to be mailed, and it broke my heart. We need to pray for her and all persecuted Christians in the world. Last Sunday was dedicated as a day to pray for the persecuted church, but let’s extend it beyond last Sunday, or just Sundays. Let’s pray together for the persecuted church. They need our prayers.

Now the non-believers are going to chime-in with comments about how the Christian religion has killed people, yada, yada, yada. What they will fail to tell you is that those things happened a long time ago when the Christian religion was being led by evil people. Some of them were evil on purpose, and some were compliant dupes that thought they were doing the lords work. Either way, the Christian religion evolved over time to become what it was meant to be and we don’t have modern-day Christians running our government and killing people because of something written in our Bible. Christians are civilized. The same cannot be said about Islam. Today we have entire countries applying barbaric laws based completely on their Quran. Billions of Muslims live in fear because of their religion, while billions of Christians rejoice in the message of love and forgiveness found in our Bible.
The bottom line is… there is NO comparison. What this woman said would NEVER rise to this level of severity in a Christian nation. In fact, she would be held in high esteem by a few of the non-believers on this blog, but every single one of us would defend her right to say those things if she was an American. Unfortunately, all we can do is pray for her and maybe contact her country’s embassy and raise some hell.

I also love how some people that hate the tea party only ever argue with “you’re a racist/biggot/hillbilly yokel/co-conspirator.” Does that mean the policies advocated by teapartiers is irrefutable?

As far as hate speech goes? We don’t prohibit it in this country. Free speech means free speech. From the New Black Panthers screaming “Kill ******* Babies” to douchebags like Major Infidel. Speech is not restricted in this country and I will do everything in my power to retain the freedom so Black Panthers to continue to scream their hate. Why in the world would you let another man have dominion over you? Particulary a bunch of wheelin and dealin, fat cat, corrupt politicians enriching themselves a thousand miles away from you called the Government. Some of the things you’ve said in your posts here could be considered hate speech as well. Should we jail you too? Should I have you barred because everything you post is offensive to me?
