Christians Protect Protesting Muslims From Pro-Mubarak Thugs

Most of us have seen the videotape and read the reports of Pro-Mubarak thugs that have charged the protesters in Tahrir Square, killing protesters and injuring hundreds, possibly thousands.  But did you know there are reports that Christians have stepped in to protect the protesters?  A recently filed online update posted a photo of men alleged to be Christians and they have locked arms and ringed the praying Muslims to protect them from the charging horde.  The caption on the photo read;

“Christians Protecting Muslim Protesters in Egypt During Prayer”

    This is about the Only thing Great that I’ve seen all week! And once again were the ones turning the other cheek! Did anyone else hear on Fox that Mubarak has set about 30 Billion aside for retirement? Don’t we give them about two billion a year in payout? Hmmm, he’s been in office for 30 years, thats only a billion per year!… Thats a nice paycheck! I know he protects Israel, I would rather just give Israel 30 Billion worth of Bombs, and let them take care of Egypt and all the other Unholy muslim countries!

    Ministers who work in the Middle East say that the rate of people converting to Christianity from Islam is scaring the muslim clerics to death. Since most of the churches are underground, the numbers are hard to know….but they are supposed to be large. When Neda Agha-Soltan was killed in the 2010 Iran riots, she was wearing a gold cross necklace.

    This has to have something to do with the Muslims protecting the Coptic Christians for them to celebrate Christmas in relative ease when there was an attack on the Coptics just days before.

    Israel needs to worry but the Coptic Christians need to worry more if and when the MB mobs gets any force they will be the first to fall all 10% of them in Egypt.

      Some would. Some will join the ‘cleansing’ later and help destroy their former guardians. Some of those protesting are innocents being duped. They want democracy and believe they can get it, we know the Brotherhood will try to put an end to that, ala Iran.

      @Showtime
      see above; It is the duty of Christians to stand up and speak out against the wrongs -sometimes that results in repercussions. Those standing are not ‘fair-weather’ Christians but true believers. They know what fate awaits them. Christians are routinely presecuted and murdered.. that’s not enough to stop them. Again, I wish I had their strength of faith.

    Short term ethics – “love your neighbor” AND long term missionary thinking – “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven”. The only salvation for Egypt is salvation from Islam. Giving Egyptian muslims a real demonstration of the TRUE religion of peace may soften the hearts of Egyptians in ways that are opaque to politicians and jihadists.

Ignorant fools like your self continue to point to Christians who fail as proof that Christians are no different. In fact it proves the exact opposite. The bible says no man can keep it’s standards. That the only way to God is threw asking his son for forgiveness and repenting again and again as we make mistakes. To be Christian means to TRY. A few days ago before the journalists were being attacked, I heard a report from one who was talking to the anti-mubarak protestors. One of the protestors (via translation) said his friend, with whom he’d grown up, was Muslim & that the Christians were planning on protecting them during Friday prayers. I saw this happen twice on the live stream coming out of Cairo today. I also know that Jews & Muslims do live peacefully in Israel too. If the radical element could be elimiated (from all of them), there would be no problems overall with Christians, Muslims & Jews living together peacefully. Let’s hope we see this happen in our time. Murder of non-Jews

      Steven Schwarzschild and Dan Cohn-Sherbok discuss the criticism that the Jerusalem Talmud, in a discussion about tactics to be employed during battle, contains the phrase “even the best of the gentiles should all be killed” (Tob shebe goyyim harog) which has been cited by numerous critics of the Talmud, including the disputations in the Middle Ages.[190] The passage is found in Minor Tractates. Soferim 15, Rule 10, and is based on Mechilta, Beshalach 2 (discussing Exodus 14:5-7)[191]

      An early example of this criticism was by Nicholas Donin who – during the Disputation of Paris – claimed that the Jerusalem Talmud (Soferim 15) “states that ‘the best gentile may be killed’. In response, a rabbi defended this Talmud text by saying an important phrase was omitted: ‘the best gentile may be killed in time of war’.”[192] Rabbi Steven Schwarzschild criticized this passage in relation to it use on modern warfare.[193]

      The context of the text is within a battle situation, specifically Israelites fighting Egyptians during the Exodus narrative, and in that context it can be understood as “when in battle, do not try to spare the lives of those opposing soldiers who are fine, upstanding people. Kill any enemy soldier, regardless of their character.

      Chertoff was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Rabbi Gershon Baruch Chertoff (1915–1996), the former leader of the Congregation B’nai Israel in Elizabeth and Talmud scholar, and Livia Chertoff (née Eisen), El Al flight attendant. His paternal grandfather, Rabbi Paul Chertoff (emigrated with his parents from czarist Russia, present day Belarus) was a noted Talmud scholar.[4]

      Good for the Christians. One has to wonder how many of the “pro-Mubarak” thugs are actually Muslim Brotherhood in disguise. A give-away is when they threaten to behead someone, as there have never been complaints in 30 years of Mubarak’s people beheading anybody. How can we get to the young people and instruct them to petition their government with their demands, so they have a concrete platform for reform? That is something we can do.

      In Egypt some weeks ago when some Coptic Christians were killed the muslims did stand up for them in protests where they chanted ” Christians, Muslims, we are all Egyptians ” which gives me hope for Egypt. Don’t know about other Middle Eastern countries though. Pray for them.
