Christine O‘Donnell’s New Documentary TV Ad: ‘We the People’

On the eve of the election, Christine O’Donnell has purchased 30 minutes of air time for a documentary-style campaign video. According to O‘Donnell’s website, the piece will air locally in Delaware at 10 am and 3 pm today and Tuesday. The campaign calls it “the Inspiring TV show about Delawareans,” while Politico’s Ben Smith describes it as “Obama-style.” It’s officially named “We the People.”

Watch the full 24 minute video below:

We the People of the First State from Friends of Christine O’Donnell on Vimeo.

UPDATE:

National Review has some snippets from a statement by campaign spokesman Doug Sachtleben.

“With Christine surging in the polls and her opponent desperately calling in the Vice-President, the O’Donnell campaign is taking its case straight to the voters by airing a half-hour video feature on Delaware cable channel 28 and WBOC-TV,” said campaign spokesman Doug Sachtleben in a statement.

“Delawareans are flocking to the O’Donnell campaign because Christine is connecting with voters,” he added. “This video takes viewers past the filters of the mainstream media and gives a powerful look at a candidate who understands the struggles and opportunities that Delaware families are facing.”

UPDATE:

In a recent development, one of the Delaware TV stations set to air the video “forget” to do so. You can get the whole story, along with O‘Donnell’s reaction, here.

Please think about the consequences before placing your vote!!

Delaware TV Channel Says They “Forgot” to Air 30 Minute O’Donnell Campaign Commercial Not Once, But Twice…
    Un-effen-believable!…

(FR)- The Christine O’Donnell campaign bought three thirty minute blocks of time on Delaware TV channel 28 to broadcast an infomercial on her candidacy the last two days before Tuesday’s election.

Last night’s scheduled 11:30 broadcast failed to happen. This morning, the scheduled 10:00 broadcast also failed to happen.

The infomercial, entitled We the People, was posted this morning to O’Donnell’s campaign website and can be viewed here.

The next scheduled broadcast is for 3:00 p.m. today.

We need to remember that liberal progressivism is a cancer. It starts out small and grows over time until it is detected. By then it is a danger to the body and can end life. We start treatment to eradicate this terrible disease, but it takes several treatments to beat it. It will take time, maybe several years, but we will destroy this cancer that has inflicted our great nation. Have faith.

Such a complete contrast to the extremist view point that every citizen ought to see this as a reminder of what this country is all about.

We need many more “Christine’s” going to the Washington. The name of the Party they go by is of no consequence. The message, though must be the same.

Look at the time slots she’s using…who’s gonna see it? A ten minute YouTube piece pushed to go viral would’ve maybe worked better. Anyway I wish her the best of luck and pray that she wins and even if she doesn’t she still has my respect and admiration she has accomplished a lot.

I am not sure if Delaware has early voting, I hope not. This is a great video and I have often wondered why politicians didn’t use their money to just do pieces like this instead of the endless commericals and the flyers stuck in my door. This lady will be more intuned to what the people want then anyone like Chris Coons who thinks he “knows” best and “we little people” know nothing. How do we get this video out to people of Delaware.

Unfortunately it looks like the television station hasn’t aired the last 2 that were scheduled. Conveniently they “forgot”. Unbelievable. They should play it an extra time to make it up to her.

This was the best piece of political advertising I have seen in a long time. It was very, very well done. That being said, I agree that, while I don‘t think it’s too little, it may be too late. It‘s time we have someone in government that isn’t a millionaire and has had the same problems as the rest of the Country. The choice is clear, elect Coons and have a Senator that wants to take us down the path to European Socialism, or elect Christine O‘Donnell and have a Senator that believes in the Constitution and it’s origial meaning.

“It is not high time for the people of this country explicitly to declare, whether they will be freemen or slaves? It is an important question which ought to be decided. It concerns us more than anything in this life. The salvation of our souls is interested in this event. For wherever tyranny is established, immorality of every kind comes in like a torrent. It is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice. For they cannot live in any country where virtue and knowledge prevail. The religion and public liberty of a people are intimately connected; their interest are interwoven, they cannot subsist separately; and therefore they rise and fall together. For this reason, it is always observable, that those who are combined to destroy the people’s liberties. practice every art to poison their morals. How greatly then does it concern us, at all events, to put a stop to the progress of tyranny.”

When sixteen years old I was locked up in the Tijuana jail for several days. This was not a pleasant experience, nearly died as a result. I learned a lesson, quit doing that, never have been back to Mexico since. Lesson learned is a reminder of how priceless is our freedom.

Shared a jail cell with a dead girl. She smelled really bad and didn’t look so good either. Watched a boy be tortured by Mexican police. That was scary.

I would have done better to take up teenage witchcraft; witches are burned at the stake which is an act of kindness compared to being locked up in the Tijuana jail.

Each American should be locked up in a Mexican prison for several days as a civil duty. This experience would have Americans better understand what socialism brings.
