Well, this is a bad look for the Detroit-based car company. Those who follow Chrysler on twitter may have been shocked to receive a scandalously-worded tweet yesterday, which disparages the motor city. Check it out:
By the way, this is the same Chrysler that lauded its products as “imported from Detroit” in the below ad, which debuted Super Bowl Sunday, and features the foul-mouthed rapper Eminem:
The employee who sent out the R-rated tweet yesterday has since been “terminated” Chrysler has ominously reported.
This morning an inappropriate comment was issued from the Chrysler brand Twitter handle, @ChryslerAutos, via our social media agency of record, New Media Strategies (NMS). After further investigation, it was discovered that the statement was issued by an NMS employee, who has since been terminated.
Chrysler Group and its brands do not tolerate inappropriate language…

I used to work in a grocery chain and if that word left my mouth on the retail floor I would have become unemployed then; instead of when Obamacare was passed.

Posted on March 10, 2011 at 12:13pmI spent a lot of time stationed in the southern states while in the Army. One thing you can count on when buying a used vehicle down there, the turn signals are like brand new because they have never been used.

Posted on March 10, 2011 at 1:52pmBlackhawk…do you really believe Chrysler would have one of the union members as its Twitter representative? And if it were a union representative do you really think the company would be able to terminate the employee? The terminated employee would have been someone in marketing since it was dealing with the Twitter account. My assumption is that they have a personal Twitter account as well as the Chrysler Twitter account and were logged into the Chrysler Twitter when they thought they were in their personal Twitter. It is a good example of why it is a bad idea to throw your personal thoughts out into cyberspace at the spur of the moment. The general rule should always apply: NEVER, put something out there that you would not feel comfortable saying, out loud, in a crowded room, where all present can hear you.

Posted on March 10, 2011 at 9:20pmIt seems to me that the auto union workers caught by a FOX reporter drinking booze and smoking pot during their lunch break were Chrysler employees. Chrysler is now operating under the control of its major share holder, the federal government. Put these two facts together and you will understand why I sold my Chrysler van and will never own another Chrysler product.
