Church Agrees to Host Anti-Shariah Conference After Hotel Cancels

A Madison, Tennessee, house of worship has agreed to be the site of an anti-Shariah conference on November 11.

Cornerstone Church agreed to host the initiative after a Nashville hotel terminated its contract to be the conference facility for the Shariah Awareness Action Network’s controversial event.

According to the Christian Post, Pastor Maury Davis says that the church agreed to rent the space to the group, because the event will serve as an educational experience. Daves also says that he knows some of the speakers and that they are “very reputable people.”

“I don’t believe informative speech or educational speech is hate speech,” he said. “I want to know what is Sharia law, how did it come about, what does it mean and how is it implemented – just as a citizen and as a Christian, what is Sharia law?”

The event, called, “Preserving Freedom Conference: The Constitution or Sharia?,” will address these very issues. According to a web site for the conference, it will provide information about Shariah Law and its incompatibility with U.S. Constitutional law. Additionally, the conference will address the potential dangers that Shariah law poses to the American lifestyle.

Lou Ann Zelenik, an organizer of the conference and a former congressional candidate, claims that she was turned down by 20 hotels after trying to find a new location after the hotel cut the event. ”There was no room in the inn for freedom, but Pastor Maury Davis of Cornerstone Church opened his doors for free speech,” said Zelenik.

According to UPI, “Organizer William Murray said 300 people have signed up for the event, more than had registered before the cancellation.” Here’s a list of speakers who will attend and present at the event:

Pamela Geller, who runs the popular Atlas Shrugs blog, canceled her appearance once the venue was moved. She claimed that, though she isn’t opposed to speaking in a house of worship, she was upset that her voice had been silences in the public square.

“While I have nothing against speaking in a church per se, I refuse to have my message driven from the public square…Right now I’m more concerned with the marginalization and ghettoizing of our message of freedom,” Geller wrote in an email. “I am not going to consent to the attempts of the left and Islamic supremacists to drive our defense of freedom from public spaces.”

      I see! Its controversial and dangerous even to point out through rational discussions of the facts concerning the laws under which the muslim must submit to. Those laws are now showing up in our country and we are still not allowed to discuss them. Sounds like a state of fear we are living in right here in America doesn’t it. Pretty soon, all talk against the Islamist and his doings will be banned outright and punishable by jail time as a hate crime. We are being taken over from within and all they need is just a little more time. America is on the verge of falling just like so many other western countries have under the threat of islam from within.

      I heard an interview with Pamella Geller. She said that a muslim, from CAIR (or other similar organization), was going to be speaking. She said that she would not share the forum with them.

      There have already been some idiot US judges that applied Shariah to cases they were judging. Judges should be voted out. If Muslims are citizens of the US, then they should follow US laws. If they are not citizens and want to practice Shariah, then they should return to their countries of origin.

      Geller does have a point. Even in countries totally controlled by Islam people are able to speak out against Islam if they do it in secret hidden away from the public. This is America and while we still supposedly have free speech it is critical that we not allow Islam and Sharia to eliminate freedom of speech already! We still have a relatively minuscule population of Muslims and they are already able to eliminate one of the core doctrines of freedom we used to have.     Thank God for this church stepping up, Lord knows they could face the threat of a fire bomb like the french paper got. Just remember this church, it’s congregation, and the people participating in the seminar in your prayers. Wouldn”t hurt to put this on the prayer list at church either. It may make our places of worship more aware of the real responsibilities that they have to the masses.

    This hotel values muslims over Christrians!!!!!! This hotel needs to exit the business of serving the public. They don’t honor contracts, and they are blatently anti Christian and pro-muslim. I would never, ever do business with anyone that would take a stance like that.

      The way that I see it, the ones going “off the deep end” are the ones that attempt to minimize what is happening and attempt and complain about a conference to inform people just what sharia is. In this, I would have to say that the churches are not going off the deep end, only the ones that attempt to stop or make a mockery of someone doing this. Sound familiar? As for the hotel, I won‘t waste my time saying anything about it because even though it doesn’t seem like it because they have bigger and louder mouths, these weirdo’s ARE a minority! The true majority is still people that believe in God, in our Constitution, in our country and in each other. Unfortunately, too many of this minority will not get up off their backsides and standup for what’s right. They don’t have to say a word even, just refuse to enter the doors of a business that is pro-muslim or to quietly stand tall for what’s right. There are a lot of ways to stand up against these people, either with their money and the willingness to stay at a function if it turns into an anti-American pro-muslim function or anything like that. Make your “voices” heard by showing everyone by your actions that you will not take it anymore and that you are for your country!

      Our government is no longer interested in protecting the interests of Americans. We need change alright, and we’d better get prepared to fight for ourselves because our government is defending everyone but American citizens.
