Church Receives Violent Threats After Posting ‘Two Men Are Friends, Not Spouses’ Sign

St. Francis Xavier in Acushnet, Massachusetts, isn’t afraid to insert its voice into the contentious gay marriage debate. The church, which posted a controversial sign voicing its disapproval of gay marriage, is reportedly receiving violent threats as a result of it’s anti-gay marriage messaging.
“Two men are friends, not spouses,” read the contentious sign, which was clearly intended to drive home the church’s view that marriage is an institution that should be reserved for men and women, exclusively.
Monsignor Gerard O’Connor, the head of pastoral services, said that the message was posted to reiterate the Catholic Church’s views on the sanctity of marriage. Additionally, he claimed that the original intention was for the church to offer a response to President Barack Obama’s recent gay marriage endorsement.
“That’s what the church teaches,” O’Connor said in an interview with CBS Boston. “We understand people disagree with us, but we do it out of love. We never said we hate anybody.”
The message, which was intended to capture attention, has certainly grabbed attention. According to staff members at St. Francis Xavier, authorities are keeping a close eye on the house of worship after someone called and threatened to burn it to the ground.
After people began coming to the church to protest, officials decided to remove the sign. One woman, Vanessa Perry, is planning a small, peaceful gathering this upcoming Sunday. Perry also posted a sign on a fence in front of the church that reads, “You may not be welcome in the church, but you are in this community. Spread love, not hate,” it said, with a rainbow balloon tied to the fence.

As far as hate there is a special place in HELL for members of the Westboro Baptist Church. The church that protests at military funerals and showed up at the Chardon funerals. The epitomize all the so called Christian individuals who begin to project their own beliefs and judgements as representations of the word of God or God’s work.

If someone tried to burn down my chuch because they were Mad and Hateful, during the act I would not hesitate to stop them by using force. Only use the force that is Necessary to stop the threat. Our way has always been within the law – and we’ve been winning there. The only reason California has gay marriage is because one gay man illegaly overturned the will of the people. Legally, there should have been no way for a judge – any judge – to overturn a constitutional amendment to include the definition of marriage as between one man and one woman. This man acted illegally and should have been impeached.

Apparently the product of his schooling and possibly some college although his writings do not show much of that at all. For that matter, my son is in college working to become an electrical engineer while working part to full time with an HVAC company. Helps to have some hands on knowledge and the will to actually work. While most of his classes are technical and those instructors actually teach the course he has expressed problems with his required periphery classes. That is where he runs into those liberal indoctrinators. He has complained only to us and not to his classmates, that much of those classes are devoid of their intended structure and once started, go to preaching left wing politics.

Well, about as unnatural as two guys that want to get married, and then in an attempt to fill in the void want to adopt, because they cannot procreate, because it was not meant to be, because it is WRONG. Quit trying to REDEFINE marriage for the rest of us!
Our Founding Fathers obviously didn’t have to deal with this issue because at that time homose.xuality was properly in the dark as an abomination along with abortion. Thankfully, they allowed for the constitution to be amended. Let’s get a constitutional amendment in place defining marriage as between a man and a woman (duh), and put this issue to rest once and for all!
