CIA Web Site is Down, Hackers Purportedly Take Responsibility

CIA Web Site is Down, Hackers Purportedly Take ResponsibilityThe hackers (or hacktivists, depending on who you’re talking to) are at it again. According to a report published by Reuters, these online masterminds have once again broken into the Senate’s public web site.

Yesterday, The Blaze reported on Lulz Security’s first purported hack. While sources aren‘t yet 100 percent sure it was the same group responsible for today’s breach, officials are saying that no important data were accessed. Reuters reports:

This attack was similar in that hackers broke into the public site and downloaded information, said Martina Bradford, the deputy Senate sergeant at arms. The Sergeant at Arms Office provides security for the Senate.

“They’re getting nothing but the attacks continue,” said Bradford. “We’ve been able to stay ahead of the hackers and keep them out of the main Senate network.

But, this latest operation wasn’t limited to the Senate. The Next Web (TNW) is reporting that the CIA’s web site is also unresponsive. As of 7 p.m. Eastern time, The Blaze was also unable to access the site. TNW writes:

At this time, CIA.gov, the official site of the Central Intelligence Agency, is also unresponsive to browsing and we have reason to believe it has faced the same fate as the other prominent sites. LulzSec has seemed to claim responsibility for the CIA site going down with this Tweet

You can find an image of the corroborating Tweet below:

CIA Web Site is Down, Hackers Purportedly Take Responsibility

CNET confirms that the CIA’s web site is offline and writes:

Apparently the group [Lulz Security] is bent on going after the spookiest of the spooky powers-that-be, but still has time for other side lulz, like taking down magnets.com and flooding the company’s phone lines. “…we called them and they wouldn’t tell us how magnets worked,” the group explained in a tweet announcing the hack earlier today.

Who will fall victim to their antics next? We shall see.

Folks this is pure crap. Notice the ‘frequency’ of these reports? They are trying to push the “Net Neutraility” through. Soro‘s team in the EU is behind the ’real attacks’ and the rest are pure fantasy.

They are trying to scare you into allowing this trash law to pass – then Obama gets the “switch” – when he gets tired of hearing our voices, he’ll just turn it off. And guess how he’ll know? Think “filter”, just like China and North Korea do now. And when they hear something bad, they’ll be coming to get you – won’t be hard with the mandatory GPS in your phone (and the ones coming to your car real soon).

Sadly, the scare tatic will probably work – he‘ll shut down the internet on anyone he doesn’t like (or doesn’t LOVE him).

This is so depressing. These “hackers” give a bad name to Hackers. In the Hacker community, hacking is about building cool programs and products for us all to enjoy. The opposite of them is known as a “*******” as they tear up programs/products with malicious intents by breaking through private security.

And I see the makings of a “National Emergency” that obama got his singularly authority to take down the internet and declare Martial law (contingency op). That must be taken away OR he must be arrested for his crimes the day after the vote count. Actually the latter because he has a habit of ignoring the law, and his cabinet is polluted with his like minded.

Don’t know about the internet control ; doesn’t Obama, Soros, Clinton et al need all of the social media to start the rebel springs throughout the world?

I think it’s a precursor to another terror attack, possibly on the computer grids. Computers is how everything functions, food, banking, utilities, transportation, etc.

Another project of those inventive and creative Chinese, you know, the Chinese who Obama praises so loudly. You Know, The Chinese, who have taken way YOUR jobs. You know, those Chinese who are killing us economically and now are sabotaging us electronically. You know, the Chinese who are reverse engineering everything we develop.(How long will the stealth technology used in the helicopter used in the Bin Laden raid be a seceret?) (Our friends, the Pakstanis, allowed the Chinese access to our downed Chopper almost before the engine cooled down)

The Chinese don’t care about PR sites full of information that the government wants us to read, and which aren’t connected to the internal government sites that contain the classified information the government needs to function. Their hackers will be going after our state secrets, and if they succeed, we’ll never know about it. And it’s not a false flag operation conducted buy our own government either. They know that we don’t care about their official PR sites. If they wanted to create panic so they could take control of the internet, they would take down commercial and media sites. That would attract much more attention without making them look incompetent. It’s probably just what it always turns out to be, geeky kids showing off their expertise.

As of 4:14pm pst the CIA site is still down.

Folks this is really bad. These hacker groups in their crusade of “getting the truth out” or whatever are in fact putting all of us at risk in our ability to access the net. The attacks are nothing but fuel for the government to seize control of the networks. Dont dismiss this theory nothing is out of the question with this regime, DOJ etc. They have been countless reports of the gvt desire to reign in the net on content as well as giving the president a “kill switch”. Attacks like this make that “1984” “V for Vendetta” world more of a likely reality.

      Okay, I’ll say it AGAIN…

Govt systems should be proprietary – both hardware and software – they should be incompatible with commercially available systems/software. They should operate via secured communications – leased lines, etc.
Public websites about the govt should be separate and are fine to be web-connected and compatible.
Secure data should not be accessible from one system to the other. Not just firewalls, but NO CONNECTIONS. PERIOD.
Anything transferred from secured to unsecured would have to go through a government clearinghouse where it would be cleared and redacted prior to transfer to civilian systems/software.
Sure, it is easy and cheap to use commercially available systems and software, but, it leads to wikileaks issues, to hacking issues, to security nightmares.
IF we get to the point where we have single-photon generation security, or a comparable technology, I might reconsider. Until then, we’re playing with fire and we will KEEP getting burned!
