This boycott lasted about 54 weeks, according to Wikipedia.
55 yrs ago, MLK was asking for a standardized internal border drawn in the buses behind which folks could just sit for the commute and instead of having to get up and lose a seat because the bus got so many white passengers that the white section filled from the front met up with the colored section filling up from the rear. Back then, a white person was not supposed to sit next to a colored person on the same bus seat.
Did history rewrite itself?
I did not see how MLK got a federally over funded replacement for that local bus system.

The DOJ did prosecute the NBP for the voting intimidation thing and they were found guilty. It wasn’t until after they were found guilty and sentencing was coming up that the charges were dropped. This makes it even worse. How many times do you see a guilty verdict and THEN the charges are dropped? I guess Holder didn’t think a guilty verdict was possible so he just canceled to whloe thing after the verdict. Amazing, isn’t it!
