Climate Skeptics Parachute into Climate Conference City Waving Climategate 2.0 Banners

On Tuesday, a skydiving team from the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT) parachuted down on Toti beach, near the city where the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is taking place.
The skydivers carried two signs, one reading “Climategate 2.0 Science Not Settled”, the other “No New Treaty CFACT”. According to a CFACT press release, the dramatic entrance into Durban, South Africa, was to bring attention again to the Climategate 2.0 emails, which were leaked last month.
“Media covering COP17 are kidding themselves if they think they can ignore and wish away Climategate 2.0,” said CFACT Executive Director Craig Rucker in the press release. “Lord Monckton, the folks from Climate Depot and I will carry our message by parachute if that’s what it takes to wake up this conference and place the Climategate evidence of corrupted science where the world must see it.”
And that’s just what they did. Watch the footage from CFACT:
The skydivers were met on the beach by what a CFACT representative told The Blaze were mostly a crowd of young people interested in who could be coming down from the sky but also the message they brought. Christina Wilson of CFACT said in an email to The Blaze that she had the opportunity to speak with a restaurant owner close to the beach who had never heard another point-of-view about climate change.
The more than 220,000 leaked last month included some of the same scientists on the International Panel for Climate Change who were also involved in the 2009 email controversy. This second batch of emails was found to be dated around the same time as the 2009 emails, and those involved have again claimed that they were taken out of context.
The organization states in the press release that it believes some climate scientists are stoking fears in global warming.
“The real agenda of the climate alarmists is to promote massively expanded government regulation worldwide, at the expense of jobs creation and economic growth,” Rucker said. “The policies they advocate will do the greatest harm to the world’s poorest people and ensure that citizens of developing nations have no chance at true freedom and prosperity.”

Posted on December 7, 2011 at 2:12amJZS, you might want to read more than the first three sentences, us uninformed FOX news watchers had a whole lot more articles than your CBS or MSNBC showings, so I would say your hypothesis is totally wrong. Besides that, this is all based on bad data that has been debunked as a fraud and needed to be questioned anyway.
Funny thing is, they are right, there is climate change. If it weren’t for climate change we would be living in an environment like the moon or Mars. The planet will die if there isn’t climate change. I can see not polluting, clean that up, sure, but CO2 is plant food. Get rid of the plant food and we will all die.

But, we are reducing the number of plants in the world and increasing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels. We know that CO2 is directly related to global temperatures because CO2 is a greenhouse gas. There is virtually no disagreement about these facts among most scientists. But, there is a major problem with this information. Do we save the planet and destroy the economy? Or save the economy and destroy the planet? This is a false choice. We can use clean technologies to reduce our emissions and we can plant more CO2 absorbing plants. The technology is expensive right now, but as demand increases, prices will come down.

Oh wait a second, the science professors are in on the conspiracy, right? Wrong. These people are not lying to you. There are mounds of evidence to correlate CO2 levels and global temperatures, and to show that CO2 levels are increasing in today’s atmosphere. They are not making this stuff up in an attempt to destroy America. They are trying to prevent our planet from becoming inhospitable to humans.

This is a petition being circulated by OISM.org. Over 31,000 scientists have signed the petition so far, about a third of whom have Phd’s. You can go to OISM.org and learn about them and decide if this is a reputable organization and a legitimate petition.
As a lay person, who am I supposed to listen to? Al Gore, a washed up politician or 31,000 scientists?

Study after study show FOX viewers are the less informed that those who watch other stations. There are two reasons for that. For one, people who watch FOX don’t want to have to think about another point of view. The second is that FOX consistantly reinforces whatever opinions they have, or that Rush Limbaugh promotes.

I would also like to know how droughts in one area years ago are caused by global warming, and excessive rain/snow in the same area years later is still caused by global warming?
Do we really think we can lower the temperature of the earth when we cant even accurately predict the weather 10 days in advance?

Plus, if we start tampering purposefully to lower the temperatures of the earth, just as we have attempted to tamper and mess with other things, sometimes these efforts of goodwill have gone terribly wrong with out of control ramifications….
So, are we to allow the egg heads of the IPCC to tinker and tamper with the climate purposefully and possibly set off some kind of massive chain reaction that throws the earth’s nature balance out of order rapidly causing an uncontrolled and unstopped chain reaction…. ya, I think NOT.

I’d think they would have to nudge the earth somehow, to an orbit a bit farther than the sun from where it is to lower the average temperature. Or nuke someone. Or set off the caldera under Yellowstone.

Posted on December 6, 2011 at 9:19pmThe sad fact of the matter is that there are plenty of conservative, independent and liberal people alike that are intellectually honest enough to consider the prospects and implications of climate change, but when you have paid for scientists, w/ no obvious moral compasses heading up the entire affair they lose us all in the process.
While once much more open minded to climate change (well it was simply called global warming back then) discussions, I’ve all but shut down to the subject due to all overt and now known covert corruption associated with the movement.

It‘s sad to realize just how ’flat earth’ these scientists really are. While you can find honest scientists out there considering other natural phenomenon that impact climate (which climate has been changing throughout earth’s history, including the millenia w/o man), but as shown with these latest leaked emails, it seems almost impossible to have an honest discussion that would balance man’s impact on the environment against other powerful natural causes, so as to even hope to start to grasp what (if anything) man can realistically do for his part.
