Clinton: Anger, Apathy, Amnesia Threaten Democrats

(AP) — Former President Bill Clinton is warning Democrats that anger, apathy and amnesia could be the keys to defeat in the November election.

Clinton spoke at a fundraiser Thursday evening for Democratic Senate candidate Mike Thurmond, who is seeking to unseat GOP incumbent Johnny Isakson. In his 30-minute speech, Clinton told the audience that Americans are angry with reason.

“But when you make an important decision in your life when you’re angry, there‘s an 80 percent chance you’ll make a mistake,” he said.

Calling the current national mood “a crazy time,” Clinton said Republicans think Democrats are disillusioned and confused, and that Americans are eager to hear a message that makes sense.

“To have an election based on anger, apathy and amnesia is nuts,” he said. “That‘s exactly what’s going on all over America today. This election should be about what are we going to do now.”

Clinton also told the crowd that the Obama administration will not get credit for its work on health care, financial reform and the economy until people get back to work — and that Republicans are capitalizing on that environment.

“They’re up there in Washington acting like the Democrats caused all these problems,” he said. “They say, ‘Let’s throw them out again so we can get back in and do what we did before.’”

The Democratic Party has deployed Clinton as a rainmaker for candidates across the country, but his stop in Georgia was personal. He and Thurmond have a relationship dating back to his first term as president, when Thurmond worked on the welfare reforms championed by Clinton.

The blame the republicans, blame bush, lets not go back to what we did before narrative, falls apart when you realize it was bushes liberal policy’s that were largely responsible for his share in this mess, America doesn’t want what we had before or want the neo-con empire building either, we don’t trust the republicans to do whats right, we just trust the democrats less!, We know what progressive socialism will do.. we hope (in-spite of having no reason to believe it) that the republicans have heard us and will turn away from politics as usual and actually represent the people. All i know for sure is that they can parrot the mood of the people back at us in talking points, i hope they can do more, if not the anti incumbent movement will continue in every election until they do…

“Amnesia” – Need Americans be reminded of what Socialist policies have done to Europe.?

Here’s the good news. This guy is considered the best they’ve got. He complains that voters who cast a ballot in anger risk an 80% chance of making a mistake. i agree. That‘s exactly what happened in ’08. People were angry at George Bush and voted that anger and got Obama. That made it a 100% probabilty they would end up with someone who was a mistake. Man, did they make a mistake. Johnney, you should send the DNC a thank you note for sending Bill Clinton out to wage war on you. He continually reminds voters with his stupid remarks why they should vote for Johnney Isakson.

The Clintons are Progressive Politicians! They see Washington and power as a strategic game to be won. He is soothing the dems saying Americans are stupidly angry, and we just have to give them a piece of dribble that they can understand. He knows that Obama is not a politician, and a poor leader.
He knows this because he did it so well. Spin Spin Spin. The real problem Bill is Americans are starting to realize that BOTH the dems and the republicans are out for self preservation of the status quo. News FLASH! We don’t trust either of you! We just cannot afford to take any democratics word that they son‘t fall in line for more of OBAMA’s agenda in 2011. DEMOCRATES CAN’T BE TRUSTED! PERIOD! Oh Yes we may have to keep throwing politicians out of Washington until they get the message: No more Lobbyists! No more 2000 page bills that can’t be read. Stop the pork!
Take a pay cut! Take term limits! It may take years!!! But devoted American‘s who don’t want comfort over freedom will stay vigilent, becuase eventually we will have neither!

You are right; we can’t trust either party. The first thing we have to do is get rid of the Dems in charge in order to try and slow the downward slide we’re on. Then we need to keep replacing people, both Dems and Reps every time they vote in a way contrary to the good of the country. Eventually, hopefully, they will learn that they are sent to Washington to do perform a service and their staying power will depend on how well they do that job and for how long they can keep it up.

The only thing Obama got right was weaseling Snowe and Collins to vote for his sorry agenda. He would have been irrelevant 6 months into his term had they supported their own party. I don’t think the party is always right, but when you are so far out of power like the Republicans were, the only thing you can do is huddle together. Instead, Snowe and Collins actually played for the other team and now a trillion dollars is just gone… gone into anti-revenue generating Government and Union jobs or thrown out the window at GM and cash for clunkers. Republicans will now have no money or budget to work with after November because of two liberal women.

All they want to do is spend more to socialize the US and tax the businesses and small businesses that create jobs. In the end that leads us to socialism and eventually a tyrannical communism.

It’s so ironic, Obama being from ChiTown and all . . . calling on Billy Flynn to do the spin. Remember the movie version of Chicago . . . Richard Gere, attorney with all the “razzle-dazzle?”

And they’ll beg you for more!

Give ‘em the old double whammy

Back since the days of old Methuselah
      Everyone loves the big bambooz-a-ler

Give ‘em the old three ring circus
      Stun and stagger ‘em
When you’re in trouble, go into your dance

Though you are stiffer than a girder
They’ll let you get away with murder

All this from a former POTUS who “did not have sexual relations with that women” Does not know the definition of “IT” When criticized about the conduct of the administration replied “SO WHAT” Oficially pardoned Marc Rich, a fugitive who had fled the U.S. during his prosecution, was residing in Switzerland. Rich owed $48 million in taxes and was charged with 51 counts of tax fraud, was pardoned of tax evasion. He was required to pay a 100 million dollar fine and waive any use of the pardon as a defense against any future civil charges that were filed against him in the same case. Critics complained that Denise Rich, his former wife, had made substantial donations to both the Clinton library and to Mrs. Clinton’s senate campaign. (source wikipedia) along with 139 other criminal pardons, second only to the truth telling Richard “Tricky Dick” Nixon. What a shining example of George Washington and our founding fathers.! It made me sick then and it makes me sick now.
