Clinton Responds to Riots: ‘Deeply Concerned,‘ ’Restrain the Security Forces’

WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Friday appealed for Egyptian authorities to respect the rights of their citizens amid a crackdown on swelling anti-government protests, and urged them to heed demands for political and economic reform.
Speaking as street demonstrations rocked Egypt’s capital despite a curfew, Clinton urged calm on both sides and said the government must investigate and prosecute any allegations of brutality by security forces. She also called on Egypt to restore access to the Internet and social media sites that have been blocked.
“We are deeply concerned about the use of violence by Egyptian police and security forces against protesters, and we call on the Egyptian government to do everything in its power to restrain the security forces,” Clinton told reporters at the State Department. “At the same time, protesters should also refrain from violence and express themselves peacefully.”
“We urge the Egyptian authorities to allow peaceful protests and to reverse the unprecedented steps it has taken to cut off communication,” she said. “These protests underscore that there are deep grievances within Egyptian society, and the Egyptian government needs to understand that violence will not make these grievances go away.”
Clinton said that reform “is absolutely critical to the well-being of Egypt” and urged the longtime U.S. ally to “engage immediately” with opposition groups and others to enact broad economic, political and social reforms. She said the Obama administration had raised repeatedly with Egypt the “imperative for reform and greater openness.”

Obama Admin Lobbying Honduras To Allow Zelaya Back In? Are You Kidding?
What could possibly be the motive behind this lunacy?
On the last day of December last year, Manuel “Mel” Zelaya, the deposed Honduran president and self-described victim of high-frequency radiation attacks by Israeli mercenaries, vowed to the press that he would return to Honduras. Few outside of Honduras have paid much attention to Zelaya’s MacArthur-esque prediction, but it has become apparent there is more behind his declaration than his usual hyperbole and bombastic absurdities.
Behind the scenes in the Obama administration there appears to be a concerted effort to pressure the democratically elected government of President Porfirio Lobo to dismiss charges of misappropriation of government funds and falsifying documents that are pending against Zelaya. This would open the door for his return to the country, and would be certain to undermine the delicate process of reestablishing democracy and order that is currently taking place in this poor and beleaguered nation.
When Zelaya was removed from office in July of 2009, the Obama administration at first joined with leftist dictators Fidel Castro of Cuba, Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, and Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua in calling for his reinstatement. The Obama White House seemed oblivious to the Honduran constitution, as well as the threat Zelaya posed to the stability of the country and the region. When the courageous Honduran people held firm to their democratic constitution and refused to yield to the pressure exerted by the U.S., the Obama administration found no way of saving face other than reversing course and backing the democratic presidential elections called for by their constitution.

The Muslim Brotherhood is a player here, but ElBaradai is in the mix also, it could go either way. Remember the people in Iran were trying to get away from the Islamic mullahs and go in a more moderate democratic way. It surely will be messy, whatever happens. Best of luck to them. Let’s hope the region changes in a more moderate direction. I won’t be holding my breath, however.

I’d like to tie bin Laden to the door of my outhouse, which is rough and splintery, and get a dozen cows with gastric issues arranged in a semi circle with their butts all facing Osama, and have them fart into his face and beard for 12 hours straight without a break for prayer, and then after that have him coated with bacon grease from Glenn‘s kitchen and then squeezed into a wealthy jewish lady’s oversized purse while she goes on a 5 hour shopping spree in south Florida to stores where the air conditioning is on the fritz. Then I want a black guy to steal that same purse from the rich jewish lady and take Osama to a dark alley, dress him like a $10 dollar ****** and have him turn tricks in San Francisco for 40 days and 40 nights on Castro Street.

I see what you said and I’ll raise you this: I‘d like to tie Osama bin Laden to a goofy looking Scooby Doo tricycle with pig intestines and wheel him into Glenn’s kitchen when Glenn‘s out shopping and force him to eat all the prune ice cream from Glenn’s freezer plus all the freeze-dried prunes, apples and bananas that are in a two year supply of Glenn’s stored up end-of-the-world food bin, force him to drink a gallon of dirty mop-bucket water and then lock him in a bathroom naked for 3 days with nothing to wipe himself with except the Koran. I‘d like to tie Osama’s privates to the tail of a buffalo being chased by 10 indians acroos the Saraha desert on the hottest day of the year and have him dragged all the way back to Saudi Arabia where he can then be sewn alive in a pig’s rotting carcass and tied to an ant hill, covered with Sugar Smacks, molasses and maple syrup and be left for dead. Then I‘d like to force feed him bacon bits and ham for 40 days and 40 nights while he has headphones duct taped to his skull with Glenn’s show playing 24/7, THE COMMERCIALS ONLY THOUGH!

I hear you Kate. I’d like to tie bin Laden to the door of my outhouse, which is rough and splintery, and get a dozen cows with gastric issues arranged in a semi circle with their butts all facing Osama, and have them fart into his face and beard for 12 hours straight without a break for prayer, and then after that have him coated with bacon grease from Glenn‘s kitchen and then squeezed into a wealthy jewish lady’s oversized purse while she goes on a 5 hour shopping spree in south Florida to stores where the air conditioning is on the fritz. Then I want a black guy to steal that same purse from the rich jewish lady and take Osama to a dark alley, dress him like a $10 dollar ****** and have him turn tricks in San Francisco for 40 days and 40 nights on Castro Street.

I see what you said and I’ll raise you this: I‘d like to tie Osama bin Laden to a goofy looking Scooby Doo tricycle with pig intestines and wheel him into Glenn’s kitchen when Glenn‘s out shopping and force him to eat all the prune ice cream from Glenn’s freezer plus all the freeze-dried prunes, apples and bananas that are in a two year supply of Glenn’s stored up end-of-the-world food bin, force him to drink a gallon of dirty mop-bucket water and then lock him in a bathroom naked for 3 days with nothing to wipe himself with except the Koran.
