Clinton: U.S. Won’t Oppose Egyptian Talks With Muslim Brotherhood

MUNICH (AP) — U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says the Obama administration will withhold judgment on the decision by Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood to engage in dialogue with the embattled government of President Hosni Mubarak.

In an interview airing Sunday on National Public Radio, Clinton was noncommittal about the fundamentalist group‘s role in talks to try to end Egypt’s political crisis, but she said the decision suggests “at least they are now involved.”

Clinton says the U.S. has been very clear about what it expects in the transition process to a new government in Egypt.

The United States, she says, along with the people of Egypt want so see an orderly transition that leads to free and fair elections.

“Things are just a little too under control to be a good old fashioned revolution.”

What stupidity is this? Things are not under control–protesters are being attacked and killed. So, you assume there is a conspiracy if the protestors are non-violent. If the protestors were violent, then you would just say that they are typical violent Muslims off on a jihaad. Obviously, Muslims can’t just want to improve their quality of life, or live in a free country. No. Must be a conspiracy.

Obama is a dirty, lying, communist meat puppet for a bunch of dried up, old, dirty, lying, one-world-order, hippie freaks from the sixties and the useful idiots they have created through our “it takes a village” government education. Sarah Palin’s statements certainly receive a lot of media attention, but our Secretary of State has no comments about Soros’s recent anti semitic rumblings of how Israel is the obstacle to peace in the Middle East. Well, when old ‘Uncle George’ provides the place for your daughter’s lavish wedding how could you criticize him. In fact your friendship with Soros goes way back. He’s referred to you as his soul mate. How nice. Soros’s sock puppet is in the White House and his soul mate is Secretary of State. Just where were the President’s, Hillary‘s and Soros’s voices when Neda lay dying her blood staining the ground? Where were those ‘calls’ of our leaders then saying we stand with the people, we stand for their rights of free and fair elections. I’ll never forget that one old Iraqi women, having cast her vote and with her purple finger raised high for the world to see, said “Thank you Bush, anyone who says different can go to Hell“ and ”God Bless Bush”.

I think you are a bit confused–
Obama has reversed decades of U.S. policy by supporting the protestors for democracy against Mubarak. Palin, on the other hand, has not come out to support the protestors, and instead sidesteps the issue by accusing Obama of not sharing enough information.

      Clokking,
You can ask “why now” at any time. Why not now? There are a number of suggested answers out there, from economic factors, to technological factors (social media and its ability to organize). There are answers out there is you dare to look at what people are saying outside of the Blaze. Many journalists have been to Egypt and have interviewed protestors. You know that asking for more information is pointless, because most Blazers are just going to ignore it if they don’t agree with it.

I keep thinking that this will be the template for revolt in this country when conservatives finally regain power. The protests by progressive thugs will be lionized by the mainstream media as they rush to overthrow the elected government. Then those who oppose the demonstrators will be mocked and demonized. End result – more radicals in power.

There is an interesting side effect that will occur if the muslim brotherhood actually takes over in Egypt. They will suddenly have a geographic location, one that was taken by revolution. It will become a magnet for all of the groups that have been operating in the world as entities within other countries. Islam will become less of an idea and more of a country and easier to combat in conventional warfare. They will suddenly have something to lose.

    Just a thought

We should get out of the process and stay out of the process. Let Egypt decide for themselves what they want. Stop all foreign aid and let’s start getting things cleaned up here at home. In a month or so all of DC will be screaming about the “debt ceiling crisis” which we all know about right now. Spending needs to be cut drastically, now, or they will insist that the debt ceiling must be raised in a month of so. But we are being led to ignore our fiscal crisis by this kind of news coverage. If Obama was born in the United States, why are they so concerned with potential requirements across the Uninted States to become US President?

“Jarrett expressed concern over possible newly passed eligibility requirements in states. If only one or two states clarify eligibility in order to run for office, White House will simply use those states as examples of “anti-Obama racism”. They would likely not win the electorals in those states regardless, but could use the scenario to gain sympathy and support over the challenge from other moderate states. This is the tactic Jarrett and crew have prepared. She is worried though that if more than one or two states challenge the president’s eligibility, the issue would turn against them. Measures are being taken to make certain that does not happen. What those measures are, I don’t know at this point. Oh, and while discussion over eligibility was underway, Obama sat motionless. He said nothing.”

Hillary is about as far over her head being the secretary of state as Obama is as being president. These clowns are all flying by the seat of their pants and really think they now whats best for other countries. Why don’t we let Egypt and these other countries figure it out for themselves and concentrate on our OWN country.
It’s time the United States gives up the position of the worlds policeman and let someone else take that over at their peril and economical demise. Time for America to get out of the United Nations as this is the most corrupt organization known to man. Lets pull all our troops back from overseas and use them to secure our borders, etc.
It’s no wonder all these countries look at us as being so arrogant, the first thing you ever hear on news reports is some government lackey saying how we don’t want this group or another to be in charge of their own country. If these people want freedom and democracy they will figure it out. Once the smoke clears we can see if they are a viable government to deal with.

“Won’t oppose”? HA! Obama is ENCOURAGING having the Brotherhood to join any talks. Obama will SEE to it that Shiara Law is in effect in Egypt IF HE CAN, that his Muslim Brothers dictate and that America PAYS them but is intentionally debased, all the while bowing and scraping and apologizing for being free and capitalistic. But Obama PROMISES “CHANGE”. Only we NOW know, what kind of change he wants.

I think that Barry is taking orders from the NWO elites. Their agenda is to form four Socialist blocks:

      1. North American (US, Canada, Mexico, adding South America after Chavez is eliminated)
      2. European
      3. Asian
      4. Middle East
      4b. P u t i n’s regime fits in there somewhere. I don’t recall.

Then these are to be joined under a socialist world governance.

So, Barry is just following orders to help the Muslim Brotherhood get going on their Middle East Caliphate.

Does anyone else think WWIII will quickly erupt if this Caliphate is formed?

All right. Perhaps we should have a real conversation about common sense and diplomacy, since none of you seem to have learned the lessons of the last half-century. The fact is that with all his apocalyptic conspiracy theories, Beck has nothing to say about what the US should do in Egypt. Now, let’s examine the possibilities for the U.S.

      1) The U.S. supports Mubarak, he stays in office. By doing so, the U.S. angers the average secular Egyptians, and further radicalizes the Muslim Brotherhood, who the have proof that the entire West is against them. Egyptians flock to the MB as the only credible opposition to Mubarak. In a few years Mubarak either makes good on his promise for elections, he dies, or another uprising topples him. As the only still credible opposition group, the MB gains power and takes revenge on the U.S. for its refusal to back the Egyptian people by closing the Suez Canal.

      2) The U.S. does nothing. Whether Mubarak is toppled this time or not, the outcome is more or less the same as above. The Egyptian people feel betrayed, and the MB’s stock rises.

      3) The U.S. aids the transition but refuses to deal with the MB. Shut out of the political process, the MB has absolutely no reason to moderate its rhetoric and has a valid case for being victimized and silenced by western “imperial” powers. Again, the MB’s stock rises, and it is then in a position to overthrow whatever democratic government is set up once the U.S. turns its attention elsewhere.

      4) The U.S. aids in the transition, talks with the MB and makes sure it is represented. There can be any number of outcomes here, but regardless of what happens, the U.S. has taken away the MB’s greatest weapons: its claim to be the victimized and oppressed opposition. By aiding in the transition, the U.S. gains leverage and goodwill with the new government and the people of Egypt. As many analysist have suggested, if the MB does gain power in democratic elections, the possibility is strong that the imperative to govern with moderate it as a party. You may say, what about Hamas? The fact is, Hamas has benefited hugely from being the vicitm of the seige on Gaza, and the political forces within the Palestinian territories have been radicalized for decades. There is no comparable situation in Egypt.

So there you go. This is a commonsense assessment. You are all free to disagree if you like.

Question is, why would the administration have to call a special strategy meeting about countering the new ‘eligibility requirements law’ in a few states (including mine) meant to go into effect by 2012? Think that says anything about our prez’s eligibility? Their comment/relief that it may only be in effect in states that Obama lost in 2008 isn’t telling is it? Gee, what are they afraid of?

I love the fact that they are considering using the ‘racist’ tactic. Here in Arizona we’ve already been painted as racist for our immigration law, even though most of the LEGAL immigrants agree with the law! Haven’t they got anything new in their box of cheap tricks? @PubliusPencilman

      You forgot this one:

      5) The US keeps it mouth shut publicly and works behind the scenes. It trains future leaders (a shadow government) who will govern the troubled country from behind the curtain. Then it creates the ‘perfect storm’ (inflation of food and energy prices, for instance) to bring the people to a boiling point. The next step would be to organize protests. When the peaceful protests are large enough, it sends in a group of thugs to rile things up (chaos). The violence and chaos escalates, putting pressure on (nudges) the current government to step down. The confusion, uncertainty and desire for order and the basic necessities of life (food and safety!) create a void for the new pre-trained shadow government to step in. It manipulates the ‘elections’ to place a popular front man in as the ‘leader’, but he answers directly to the shadow government.

The template is a common one – the result, however, is determined by the desire of the people who trained and placed the shadow government in power. In the US, that desire reflects the administration in power at the time. Was the desire to stabilize an unstable portion of the world? To give freedom to an oppressed country? To oppress a free country? Or to ‘change the world’?

It could result in a favorable change, or a disastrous one.

      …just food for thought

      AZPatriot,

Sorry, I didn’t forget that one. It just doesn’t pass the plausability test. The U.S. trained a shadow government? For Egypt? And then engineered a global food and energy crisis in order to anger average Egyptians into rioting? Now think about that for a second… just ponder it. The U.S. controls both the anti-Mubarak and pro-Mubarak protestors in order to get them to fight each other? And all in the interests of stability? Really? And the U.S. will create this huge conspiracy and just expect no one to notice a shadow government?

This is not a “common” template. I have no idea where you get that idea. Frankly, it’s complete idiocy–but I suppose that if you refuse to believe that people in the Arab world want freedom just like everyone else, you have to make up crazy bullpoop like this. But please–if you have any particular proof to back this up, I would love to hear it.

      PubliusPencilman;

Wow. I’m sorry. I mistook you for an educated person. The template has been used, in one form or another, throughout history.

      I’ll break down your questions:

“The U.S. trained a shadow government?” Yes. They have in the past and continue to do so.

“For Egypt?” It certainly fits the pattern.

“And then engineered a global food and energy crisis in order to anger average Egyptians into rioting?” Manipulation of the GLOBAL economy, not just Egypt. And it wasn’t necessarily the US.

“The U.S. controls both the anti-Mubarak and pro-Mubarak protestors in order to get them to fight each other?” Yes. That’s the easy part. Peaceful protests are organize through the internet. When the crowds are at their peak, the thugs are sent in to stir up the violence. If the police and/or military stand down (sound familiar) the violence and chaos escalate.

“And all in the interests of stability?” That was only one of the options I mentioned. I believe the others were: To give freedom to an oppressed country; To oppress a free country; or to ‘change the world’.

“And the U.S. will create this huge conspiracy and just expect no one to notice a shadow government?” Wow. I‘m going to pretend you didn’t ask that.

As for the proof, if you would spend as much time researching as you do denigrating people on this website, you wouldn’t have asked me those silly questions.

By the way, do you see your hypocrisy in your post? Let me quote you:

“No? No one wants to actually discuss this issue rationally? I am curious how you folks think things should be handled, since everyone is quite quick to attack”.

Now let me quote your comment to my post:

“This is not a “common” template. I have no idea where you get that idea. Frankly, it’s complete idiocy–but I suppose that if you refuse to believe that people in the Arab world want freedom just like everyone else, you have to make up crazy bullpoop like this. But please–if you have any particular proof to back this up, I would love to hear it.”

And here’s how you begin your reply to Xcori8r:

      “What stupidity is this?”

Did you click on the link he provided? Of course not. It’s obvious. If you did you‘d have a better grasp on what’s happening in the world. I don‘t think you’re stupid, just uninformed. If you’re going to post on conservative websites and want to be taken seriously, do your homework first.

Thanks AZ, but I am well familiar with the need for research. I also know that research does NOT mean you believe everything you read.

I did read that article, and there are a few things to say about it. First of all–your evidence is an opinion column from India? Let’s look at what seems to be “evidence” of a US conspiracy:

“It is clear from the US diplomatic messages revealed by the Wikileaks that the movement was put on course in the year 2007/2008. A secret diplomatic despatch sent on 30 December 2008 by US Ambassador to Egypt, mentions about secret plans for regime change before elections in September 2011.
It is also clear that there were extensive preparations by the April 6 Youth Movement in creating and mobilising 70,000 members of the social network. Wikileaks also indicate the US officials pressurised the Egyptian government to release a large number of dissidents.”

The problem is, that first paragraph implies that the U.S. started the ball rolling on these “secret plans.” However, take a look at that document yourself:
      http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/egypt/8289698/Egypt-protests-secret-US-document-discloses-support-for-protesters.html
The young dissident, identified only with x’s, did attend a youth conference in New York, and does suggest to the ambassador that there will be a protest movement, but the ambassador is skeptical:
“He alleged that several opposition parties and movements have accepted an unwritten plan for democratic transition by 2011; we are doubtful of this claim.”

As far as the U.S. “pressurizing” (?) Egypt to release dissidents–leaked cables do show the U.S. had been critical of the Egyptian government’s handling of political dissent, but there is NOTHING to suggest that there is any connection between pressure to release political prisoners and the recent riots.

Without these little pieces of “evidence,” the only other thing here is his assertion that it is not a coincidence that Sami Hafez Enan was in the U.S. when the riots broke out. However, he offers no proof to suggest it was anything other than a coincidence.

So there is a bit of research for you. Reading your post, I am struck by the fact that most of your answers to my questions are simply yes.. yes… yes.. with no actual information. Care to elaborate?

i have read your arguements against AZPATRIOT MOM and i must ask only one question to you. You answer will determine a LOT.
What if you are wrong, and the story is right? What, if anything, do you have in your arsenol to defend what is yours and what you love? Anything? Do you have any plan at all, or are you relying on “status quo’ to carry you along to your retirement years?
So again I ask, “what then?”
      What then?
Do you have a plan as you watch your family die from starvation? Do you have a plan to defend yourself from home invaders? Do you have ANY plan in case you are wrong? If so, I’d LOVE to hear it, but I suspect you are biting at the worm your lib/propagandists are feeding you on the tip of a hook that “all is well, nothing for you to see here/carry on with your wonderful day”
If this is true, and i pray that it is because this is an arguement you can be dissuaded from, then run. Run fast and run swift, and find someone….ANYONE who can help you to turn away from this madness thinking, and can turn your eyes directly into the light of truth, and I PRAY that you see that truth and seek it every day in your life!
Time is short, and growing shorter by the second. You MUST find the truth and be free, or be a slave for all eternity.

      PubliusPencilman:
First of all, what I offered you was a template for orchestrated regime change as “food for thought”. And the template applies to more current events than just the ones in Egypt.

I really don’t feel the need to give you proof of anything or do your research for you. I’ll give you a couple of places to start and a couple of tips, and then you can do the research, plug the facts into the template and decide for yourself.

For proof of the existence of similar templates used in the past, you have to research history.

For proof that the US has orchestrated regime change in the past, research US history.

Try searching “manipulation of the global economy” and see where that takes you. If you end up at a conservative website (unfortunately most left leaning sites are spinning the truth these days), don’t just write it all off, research the facts. You might also try searching “George Soros manipulation of the global economy”.

Speaking of Mr. Soros, did you know of the connection between him, El Baradei and the Muslim Brotherhood? Research.

Did you know that MB members/leaders were appointed to positions in the current administration? Research.

Try searching “Days of Rage”. You‘ll find that it’s not just the name of the protests in Egypt, it‘s the name of Bill Ayers’ 1969 protests. Coincidence? Maybe – maybe not. Now search “Bill Ayers Egypt”.

If you want to have some real fun, search “shadow government”.

When you have proof that the Egypt protests were NOT orchestrated, let me know.

      AZ,
Haha. Exactly the response I expected. You can keep your “tips.” You simply don’t want to engage in a reasonable argument, and instead you fall back on the kind of unsubstantiated trash that clogs the internet. I’ll say again, don’t believe everything you read.

…and if you don’t read, you’ll never learn anything.

I take back what I said earlier. You ARE stupid and WILL ALWAYS BE uninformed.

If you want to close your mind on the real events of the world, go back to your left-wing echo chamber sites. They’re a great pacifier for people who are afraid of the real world.

      I’m done.

Call me crazy, but isn’t Hillary looking drunk in most of her news clips lately?

I didn’t want to add much except to say that John McCain should just join the Democratic party.
He is sure acting like one
