Clip: Meat Made O’Donnell Avoid Being Hare Krishna

(AP) — Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O‘Donnell says with a laugh that she tried several religions but skipped becoming a Hare Krishna because she didn’t want to be vegetarian in a 1999 interview.

Maher aired the clip of O’Donnell Friday night on his show “Real Time with Bill Maher.” The short clip was from an interview on the comedian’s former show “Politically Incorrect” from July 9, 1999.

O’Donnell tells Maher that she had dabbled in “every other kind of religion,” including witchcraft and Buddhism, before becoming a Christian.

With a laugh, she said: “I would have become a Hare Krishna, but I didn’t want to become a vegetarian. And that is honestly the reason why, because I’m Italian and I love meatballs.”

It‘s the third clip of O’Donnell that Maher has shown since she won her state’s GOP primary last month.

Reached by phone, O’Donnell campaign spokesman Chris Merola had no immediate comment.

Yeah, I too would like to hear Bill Maw-Her (he likes distortions–here’s one of his name) confront Joe Biden on his gaffs and everything he did and said from the time he was 18 years old and in school. After that, Bill Maw-Her can interview Obama about his high school activities, what classes he attended, what papers he wrote in college (let’s see them) which church doctrines he studied, and ask him to explain the difference between the Austrian School of economics as developed by Fredrick Von Misses and the economic model of John Maynard Keynes.

After that he can ask Obama why he believes that his bumper sticker slogans like, “Hope on a Rope” and “Yes we Can-Can” will save this country.

Not at all, Lonescrapper. What this clip actually reveals about O’Donnell is that in her youth she investigated a bunch of different religions, rejected some for one reason or another, and finally settled on one she could believe in. Is this supposed to make her some kind of monstrosity?

If the marxists, communists, maoists, eco-fascists, anti-colonials, black panthers, and the union leaders get their way, how will they decide which one of them is running the show? Maher is just an useful idiot for now. Which of these groups will be the one to rule? It will not be pretty when the ones who have been played figure it out.
These anti-constitutional people have freedoms in this country to say all of the crap they want, complain about capitalism which allows hard-working taxpayers to support their ignorant souls, and complain about our Judeo-Christian foundation which they benefit from. They benefit from the fact that our rights are not given to us by big government but by a higher power I like to call God.
So if you are trying to figure out who you are in this country, as long as you do not want to kill or rule the world, you have the freedom to do so in America.
How much of that freedom will you have when the cold and calculating Soros is running the show? He only wants America to become a wasteland. He is a cancer.
Those of you that sympathisize with someone like Maher, what kind of future do you think you will really have after you have been used up.
Thank God for people who want to run for office who believe in God, individual rights, and the paper that our Prez swore to uphold.

Mr. Maher represents a dysfunctional and defective philosophy: that of hate and elitism. Ms. O’Donnell represents that breed of American whose curiosity led them to explore the edges of their existence envelope … what emerged from her years of searching appears to be an emotionally healthy, well-balanced, functioning adult…not a great intellect, to be sure, but the great intellects of our time don’t stand for election…they punditize and criticize…

Ms. O’Donnell is plenty bright enough to be a US Senator…consider Al Franken…consider Harry Reid…consider Barbara Boxer…and on and on…

…and besides, liking meatballs is as good a reason as any for not becoming a Krishna loon…

One travels under the code name Kontrarian, while the other is known as Hipponips. It just happens that I am a travel writer for FoxBusiness:
      http://www.foxbusiness.com/personal-finance/2010/10/01/port-canaveral-cruise-savings/
and that I know and have known many authors and columnists over the years. The ones that have been most successful are the ones who do not indulge private thoughts in publlic and focus on what is of interest to the reader. You remind of a rock critic I once worked with, John Mendelssohn, who screwed up every paying writing assignment he ever had by amusing himself instead of doing what he was paid to do.

This is O‘Reilly’s downfall – constantly interrupting guests to make his insipid, self-reference jokes. Sanchez succumbed to it. The REAL Glenn Beck (not you) is so good because he rarely interjects his own values into his show – he sticks to facts.

I also want to say to the people here who use terms like “lib-terds” and other derogatory names. That is what THEIR side does, not us. Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals: When you can’t win on logic switch to ridicule, it confuses the enemy and causes them to do things they will regret.

Don’t go there – hold your head high and stick to the principles of conservativism and the issues:

      1. Restoring this economy through tax cuts, deficit reduction, right to work and fiscal responsibility
      2. Restoring free speech in the media and public discourse

AmericanPatriot So, exactly where indeed does Christine stand on any particular issue of the day? Did you hear or read her speech to the Values Voters? It‘s just the same i’m gonna wave the flag and everyone needs to get back to God and let’s respect the family and God Bless America speeches that Dan Quayle gave without actually ever saying anything. No one, well practically no one, is against the flag, or God, or the family, or America. Just like any good Tea Partier, Christine also inserts the word “Constitution” in every other paragraph. If you love her speeches like this, then you probably swell up with pride when Sarah Palin tells a crowd how nice it is to see a bunch of “America-loving” people. The translation of that is: If you don’t agree with me, Sarah Palin, then you must not love America. Why should I even bring SP into this conversation? Well aside from the fact that she endorsed O’Donnell and sent lots of money her way right befor the election, there is the fact that both of them are stupid and don’t really talk about what they would actually do in office.

Human cells were fused with rat’s brain cell.
YOU not knowing the current state of science makes O’Donnell far smarter than you.

Hipponips. Somehow, don’t you think implanting a human stem cell into a mouse brain and having that cell differentiate as brain tissue…. somehow isn’t that just a TEENSIE TINY bit different than a mouse with a fully functioning human brain? My position is that Christine is too stupid to even begin to understand two widely different concepts, and apparently she is not alone.

gb2012 and demagogue. You are too stupid to understand both your monikers of Glenn reveal your TOTAL lack of knowledge of the man. So. Your opinion on anything else should be considered intellectual…why?

HEY HEY HEY Don’t feed the trolls!!! It has become the tradition here to just ignore them until they say something, anything that resembles an intelligent thought, which doesn’t happen very often. We just pray for them.

Personally i think they are a poison to this planet and should be sterilized and eliminated. But until we can deport trolls we have to just ignore them.

Have you guys been on a national show without prepared comments? Do you know the pressure of stage fright making you screw up a comment?

I have to give Christine the benefit of the doubt on her human/rat brain comment. Or else you must concede that Obama seriously believes we have 57 states.

Are we willing to be reasonable? HMMMM?

More proof that the Demoncrats and their supporters will exploit the irrelevant and create smoke screens to avoid a discussion of the issues. Demonizing the woman for her high school activities is almost criminal. Hillary Clinton was once a “Goldwater Girl” but no one accuses her of being a conservative.

      @ Demagogue
You mean to tell me that O’Donnell may have misunderstood or misstated something off-the-cuff when she was in her twenties? Holy cow! What a scandal! Twenty-somethings NEVER do that!

If Odonnell was trying to get a job as a biology professor I would probably not vote for her. But what in the HELL does that have to do with running for Senate???

      @GBECK2012

Are you sure she didn’t mean scientists are putting partially functioning mouse brains in humans?

That would explain Obama’s support base…

@GBeck2012- If O’Donnell were your candidate, she would be celebrated for her Acceptance of Diversity as a young woman. You are only critical because she is a conservative
