@Walkwithme, what was the last good thing to come from unions? And when was that? The fact is that Unions have far outlived their use and morphed into something completely antithetical to their founding principles. They use their monopoly on labor and collective bargaining to force companies to close, to drive up overhead on manufacturing- causing American plants to close and send jobs overseas- and cause businesses to raise their prices in order that they can stay open. Because that evil profit motive is what drives paychecks.

Many of my father’s generation fought for democracy in the last war. Is there something in the Joseph Smith magic golden book that says it’s wrong? Why does he hate the idea of people expressing their views through the ballot box – or has his puppet master Rupert Murdoch got other ideas?

People like WalkWithMe need to grab a map and randomly point to another country on it, because I can guarantee that just about any other country out there is running under a very leftist regime like this dope wants. The next step is for these people to pack their belongings and move there. That way, we can have our Republic, which is one-of-a-kind, and they can have their leftist Socialist utopia where the government holds their hand every step of the way throughout their lives. Also, if America doesn’t change, it’ll remain unique and different. And, isn’t that all these libs want, diversity? Or, they like diversity unless it’s diversity in ideals. Hmmm. Go figure.

Is it fair for Union Bosses and Party Bosses to force union dues on those who don’t support what the bosses stand for? Is it fair to be forced to fund politicians you don’t agree with? Is that democratic? What about the children, do they benefit from the Big Ed monopoly? If Monopolies are bad and anti-trust litigation is brought to break them up (DOJ v Microsoft) etc, then shouldn’t Big Ed be broken up by the anti-trust laws? BTW the site you linked to is intentionally biased. No indeed, …Not getting scared at all but aware, alert, deciding for ourselves, planning ahead and being prepared for the worst.

Contrary to your claims, Mr Beck has indeed been correct more than the majority of times. The Republicans/conservatives are NOT about busting the unions – but about fixing a major budget crisis. Government employees union members are paid above and beyond what everyone else is getting. The problem is the simple fact that this is not sustainable at all. I would suggest that union people first start advocating the end of selected or all social services and welfare funding or at least put STRICT guidelines for recipients. Also, do NOT expect to be paid from accounts that have no money in them. WI does NOT have an industrial base but is more agricultural in nature. Do you want to tax the farmers right off of their lands? WE, THE OBVIOUS MAJORITY, DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR YOU ONE BIT!

By the way, as far as making voter registration more difficult…..Darn right!! No more dead people voting, No more illegals voting, and No more DEMOCRATIC fraud!

the US is a Democratic REPUBLIC – not a democracy. There is a MAJOR difference.
Democracy by itself is MOB RULE, the crazies are in charge usually a dictator.

A Democratic REPUBLIC is the PEOPLE RULE by majority vote and the elected officials and PUBLIC SERVANTS (UNIONS) report to the MAJORITY of VOTERS – WE THE PEOPLE!

Its our votes that provide the checks and balances – however the DEMOCRATS want MOB RULE – ith them DICTACTING who gets how much money.

If the fear mongering Beck was right even ten percent of the time….we would have all been dead long ago. I have finally figured out that his followers are fed by being afraid.
Boortz and Savage are drawing Beck’s listeners away at an amazing rate.

They don’t care about the economic facts Drewder, that‘s what’s so messed up about the unions. They want theirs and could care less who is paying the bill. Unions are so out of control today. There was an interview in Ohio with a union leader complaining about losing collective bargaining rights. He said that is how we “dictate” our salaries and benefits. His words, not mine.

They think they can use hilarity and jibes to counter facts. The FACT is they’re union philosophy of constant pay increase above the cost of living without standards or accountability is part of the process that has brought the state government to this point. When you see a leak in the boat, you plug it. These unions have squeezed dry the coffers.

What we need to do is pay our bills. We are not (as a country) “broke,“ the country has plenty of cash and this ”broke” word is just a scary talking point that has recently become popular. As a clear eyed patriot I refuse to consider America “broke” – we have power and control over most of the material wealth that exists and always will.

That spring, I marched with my parents in the May Day parade, which was organized by the Communist Party. In those days the women wore dresses to political demonstrations and the men wore suits, carrying their jackets in the early summer heat. Our section marched behind a huge banner that said “New York City Teachers Union” and we chanted on cue……………………Like my other political lessons [growing up communist], this one reflected the core sense our community had of its political mission: The world is cursed by ignorance, and the task of progressives like us is to set everybody right” —— David Horowitz

What a catchy tune that was that they were singing!!! Being a Caucasian myself, it was difficult to maintain the rhythm and I stumbled and fell down a few times whilst dancing to it but a few scrapes and minor bruising are worth it…….I wonder if they have all of their songs on a CD???

It was also enlightening to see that Progressive/Communists/Socialists/Marxists/Unionists/Wannabee-Community-Theatre-Actors are sooooooooo easily amused…….if Gov. Walker would just throw out some balls of yarn to that crowd, they would be incapacitated for days-on-end…….

Economic doesn‘t come into play with puiblic sector unions and that’s the problem. If a car company produced cars of the same caliber as the students these teachers unions are producing they would out of business. All unions should be abolished pay increase should be based on the performance and quality of students produced. The same goes with the police and criminal justice system if it worked crime rates would drop but it doesn’t and more over it punishes the innocent by protecting through misrepresentation, ideological bais, and little to no rehabilation by making prisons more comfortable than some Americas homes. The fire department is the only public union that actually produces good results.

Yes .. I have a friend who taught in Tennessee .. she had to relocate back to Michigan because of her Husbands Union Job… she couldn’t even get an interview because she has a Masters and the Union pay scale is so high .. they can get teachers straight out of college cheaper… I pointed out to her (kindly) that the union WAS/ IS the problem not the solution!

Thats fine, but the Gov. Walker is not addressing the “hard economic facts” his emergency budget is fille dto gifts to his corporate donors, like no bid contracts for state resources and hugh tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations.

Additoinally, the unions have agreed to the cuts in pay and benefits, so this is no longer about the economics and everything to do with the rights of the workers against a repressive regime that seeks to destroy collective baragining.

When the well runs dry and there’s no more water people get thirsty and eventually die from thirst. The unions have sucked the American well almost dry. Water ( unions and benefits) is now an indangered naturakl resource. Where there‘s an abundance of water it’s uselessly wasted and taken for granted. But, when water becomes scarce, every drop is precious and people will fight to get it or keep it.
What’ s really scary about the protests in Wisconsin is the fact that the majority of the protesters are teachers who have a daily influence upon the children they teach. What‘s being taught by word and deed isn’t promoting Americanism, but, is extolling the benefits of socialism and communism while denouncing American capitalism and democracy that made America the greatest counrty on earth..

Here in my neck of the woods there is a biblical code of ethics and when needed down right southern attitude that can follow. Ignorant and lazy people like that gentleman wouldn’t stand in our home to long acting like that. He would be surrounded by constitutional people, and he wouldn’t be hanging out to long. We Love our country here in the south, and those minority groups really are out of place currently. So ignorant to see its about the states budget not there union.
