CMT Censors Shania Twain’s Embarassing Fall During Awards Show Replays

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (The Blaze/AP) — Shania Twain’s stumble during the CMT Music Awards show is being edited out of replays to save her from more embarrassment.

Twain slipped and fell on her way to the stage Wednesday night during a live telecast. The channel left the spill out of a replay following the show and during another replay Thursday.

TMZ hilariously presents the fall, along with a conspiracy theory:

John Hamlin, the show’s executive producer, says the last thing the channel wants to do is embarrass anyone, particularly someone as gracious as Twain.

While CMT edited out the fall, footage of it aired on cable news channels and was available on the Internet.

Twain said via her Twitter account that she was not hurt, except for a sore thumb.

That was no (prat) fall. Her leg and ancle twisted as her foot slipped. LOVE her music. Not crazy about the New FRENCH Hubbie, hope it’s not rebound love. She needs to get over Mutt and find happiness.

She is an incredable singer. I love her music. Everyone takes a spill on ground. Why time and tape is wasted on this I don’t know.

It‘s not the fall that’s important, it’s how she got up and continued her part of the show. like a real lady and professional entertainer. Shania, you made a 72 year old fan a happoy man. Thank you.

I trying to figure out how any woman can keep from slipping in some of the things they wear or the shoes. (Don’t stop wearing them though). I give women a lot of credit for not all crashing and burning at any occasion.

Heaven forbid that we show these folks as human…I mean they are edited all the time to make it appear that all must be perfect at all times.

Leave these sort of incidents in to show the youth of today that you need not be perfect…we have created a culture of madness via the boob tube. JIMHO

If you believe that you should catch the series she did for OWN about working to overcome loosing her voice, her marriage, her faith in friedships etc. Amazing lady who has been through hell, come out the otherside, to bring her gift of music back to the world. She is as real as it gets, and I wasn’t a fan of hers-just caught the series and am impressed with her as a human being first, then as a musician.

I appreciate that they didn’t show her fall, it shows compassion. That’s the lesson the youth needs more of. I think they know everyone falls.

A nice lady and an artist who made it thanks to her tremendous talent. I don’ play her music but do enjoy listening to it occasionally.

As for the wise-cracking TMZ bunch trying lamely to justify their continued employment by the gossip shop and failing badly – please continue to enjoy enjoy thinking about your lousy employer, lousy job, lousy bosses, lousy future, maxed out credit cards, old cars, junk clothes, lousy homes/apartments and annoying as well as unattractive spouses/significant others. You deserve all of it.

Arkward moments are a great ways to test our character and integrity. Before and after the fall, Shania Twain’s character and integrity were and still are intact. She’s a beautiful lady and one of the best female vocalists ever. She’s not perfect, nobody is, and she handled the fall very well and will probably get more noteriety from that than any other single event at the 2011 CMT Awards. Good for you Shania, you confirmed what I’ve always know to be true about you, stardom hasn’t gone to your head.
