CNN Airs Documentary Revealing More Details About O‘Keefe’s ‘Pleasure Palace’ Plot

Last week we brought you bits and pieces of conservative video maker James O‘Keefe’s failed plot to “seduce” CNN’s Abbie Boudreau on a boat in Maryland. Yesterday CNN debuted the documentary “Right on the Edge,” the TV special following conservative activists that O’Keefe and Boudreau were supposed to meet regarding, and we were given a better understanding of how the plan was supposed to work and why O‘Keefe’s denial of his involvement is almost absurd:
Most upsetting for conservatives might be that O‘Keefe’s apparent reasoning for the plot may have proved to be unfounded. He reportedly believed that CNN was going to smear him and the conservative film movement. But according to Mediate, the documentary might suffer from not being tough enough on it’s subjects:
If not for O’Keefe’s plot, the show would have been an unqualified win for the conservative activist movement. … O’Keefe’s actions take on an added dimension of stupidity once you watch the rest of Right on the Edge, which turns out to be an almost completely uncritical look at a handful of conservative video activists. Abbie Boudreau doesn’t ask anything approaching a tough question.
Also of note is that O‘Keefe’s long-time defender, Andrew Breitbart, has begun speaking out against O‘Keefe’s stunt. In two twitter posts last week, Breitbart snapped at those who have suggested that he is O‘Keefe’s boss. When Nicole Sandler, a radio host, retweeted something that called Breitbart O‘Keefe’s “employer/coward,” Breitbart responded:
Similarly, when Media Matters’s Oliver Willis tweeted that “@andrewbreitbart’s crew strikes again,” Breitbart snapped back:
But the most damning comments coming from Breitbart regarding the O’Keefe scandal may be a statement Breitbart released on Friday calling for an explanation from O’Keefe:
I proudly stood behind James O’Keefe on his groundbreaking ACORN investigation. I also defended him when the media, including CNN — during a previous regime, “the Rick Sanchez era” – falsely reported the Sen. Mary Landrieu story as a “wiretapping” plot gone wrong.
In all these cases the left-leaning media exposed its obvious bias against James because of his contrarian point of view and because the targets of his investigations are protected institutions of the Democrat Media Complex.
However, in my dealings with Ms. Boudreau, she and her producer, Scott Zamost, conducted themselves professionally, and I believe James owes them a candid and public explanation.
From what I’ve read about this script, though not executed, it is patently gross and offensive. It’s not his detractors to whom he also owes this public airing. It’s to his legion of supporters.
O’Keefe appears to be losing his supporters while emboldening his detractors. You can view CNN’s documentary “Right on the Edge” tonight at 8 and 11 pm ET.

Posted on October 3, 2010 at 5:12pmThis is an example of young and dumb. He may have had good intentions, with Landreau’s office for example, but his immaturity has come back and bit him in the a**. The youth today, as a whole, do not have the character necessary to run with the big dogs. Do not send a boy to do a man’s job.
It is to bad that he did not just have some patience after acorn.
That does not change the fact that we must always remember O‘keefe for the exposing of acorn’s wrong doings. The importance of this is critical for helping others understand the negative consequences that go hand in hand when the government funds individuals or organizations.

Posted on October 3, 2010 at 4:55pmAnd, by the way, even with the ACORN takedown the skimpy babe outfit and pimp outfits were over the top and were really unnecessary, and had wondering at the time about the need for that over-propping. Then in the first part of the CNN piece he was still a human parody in that outfit. Okay, we could live with that. But his other props are porn, fuzzy handcuffs, etc? In what alternate universe was he living in mentally? Disgusting. Pray for him, as he needs an inside job to his heart and mind, badly. Truly upsetting and disgusting. And a betrayal to people like Breitbart , who has done much good for the cause, as well as to all other Conservatives. Truly disgusting and idiotic.

Posted on October 3, 2010 at 4:42pmStupid is as stupid does. And what is even more troubling is the controrted ridiculous thought process he went through to come up with this unseemly course of action. We need to all be vigilant to point out idiocy, no matter which side it occurs on. What was he thinking? That is almost as troubling as this actions. He needs to be shunned from the Conservative movement — thoroughly shunned — unless and until he has a come to Jesus moment and completely turns himself around.

Posted on October 4, 2010 at 12:10am@SICBOY You’re probably right. I just think it’s wrong for the media to say that the West perpetrated the attack with absolutely zero evidence. The only evidence in the case is that the virus was delivered via USB, which implies physical access to a computer in the nuclear plant. This makes a western state-sponsored attack as unlikely as any theory out there right now. That’s what I was trying to point out.

And O‘Keefe’s stunt was just that – wrong. He has contributed a lot of good investigative work, but this was just over the top stupid.
