CNN: FL Dem Candidate Caught Cheating…Now Caught Lying

Democrat Alex Sink may be locked into a tight race with Republican Rick Scott, but it’s no excuse for cheating.
During the candidates’ gubernatorial debate Monday evening, Sink broke the rules and accepted coaching advice from a campaign staffer via a cell phone text message delivered by a makeup assistant during a commercial break. Almost immediately, Sink acknowledged the indiscretion and fired the staffer, Brian May.
“While he told me it was out of anger with Rick Scott’s repeated distortion of facts, it was a foolish thing to do,” Ms. Sink said, in a statement regarding May’s dismissal from the campaign.
But Tuesday evening, Sink seemed to change her tone and, during an appearance on MSNBC, she claimed that she had not known the message from makeup artist was related to the debate or that it had been sent by a member of her staff when she accepted it:
According to Sink, “the makeup artist held up her phone and said ‘I just got this message, I don’t know who it’s from…” Sink says she was worried it might be from her daughter and inadvertently accepted the message.
“I looked at it because, you know, I’m a mom. My instinct is my daughter’s in Europe; I don’t know who this message is from. I glanced at it. I didn’t understand even what it was, and I just ignored it,” she told Chris Matthews Tuesday.
But CNN, the network which hosted the Monday night debate, is saying not so fast. CNN‘s John King who had moderated the debate told Wolf Blitzer that Sink’s latest account is not at all what happened Monday night. According to King, the makeup artist told Sink the message was from “the staff,” and Sink knew it was a political message before she accepted it:
Sink’s latest claims also seem to contradict her management of the situation immediately following the debate. If she had simply mistaken the message to be a note from her daughter as she now claims, why had she been so quick to fire Brian May?
The Rick Scott campaign has worked to draw further attention to the incident from Monday night’s debate, releasing an ad using Sink’s own words against her:

I am voting for Rick Scott,not sure he handled the medicare charges well but I do like his plan of cutting property taxes 19%, keeping our beaches, water, air, lakes, oceans etc “pristine”. I also like his phasing out the business tax, cutting red tape ( he gave an example of a building project that took over one or two years (unsure) to get the 71 permits. He wanted to reduce the size of gov‘t by not rehiring new gov’t workers as the current ones retire which I think he said drop the size 9% a year.
One other point I should mention, my brother and his wife know Rick Scott from when he lived in Dallas, my brother called me during the primary and asked who I was voting for, I said McCollum why? That’s when he told me he knows RIck Scott personally and that he is a “really good guy” I said I liked his ads but didn’t know what to think, I ended up voting for him and to my surprise he won. Anyway, I trust my brother completely and I like his plan. Uncertain how much he knew about what was going on or how much does the gov’t extort, most companies will pay a fine before going to court against the gov’t. Obviously I think Sink is a rubber stamp for Obama and will not fight Obamacare. God Bless

We should all realize by now the electing and re-electing and re-electing the same person over and over again and getting nothing in return is, in effect, a waste of our votes and money. This mantra that a lot of entrenched/mired Dems and RINOS are giving us about their seniority is just a distraction. Just because you are the chair of committee x doesn’t mean that you are representing the people of your district or state. If you can’t represent the people, then you should find a new line of work.

Posted on October 28, 2010 at 4:48amLet’s see…cheat, then shift the blame to the staffer. It wasn’t cheating for the staffer to send the text, but it was for her to read it. She obviously thought about that, so she then made up a new story to make it appear innocent, even though it contradicted previous events and statements. Politics as usual.
Not the kind of peson I would asociate with, much less vote for. We need people that take responsibility for their own actions, not those that will do or say anything to get elected.
