CNN Isolates Audio of Zimmerman 911 Call: Racial Slur Now Very Likely

George Zimmerman, who called 911 prior to shooting young teen Trayvon Martin in a case that has become a national scandal, has been both accused of racism and exonerated of it by outside sources. But in recent days, both the accusation of racism and its defense have come to hinge on a tiny portion of the recorded 911 call, in which Zimmerman sounds like he utters the phrase “f–king coons” under his breath while following Martin. “Coon” is, of course, a racial slur for African Americans. The snippet of audio is so quick – 1.6 seconds – and Martin’s voice is so soft when he says it, that it’s easy to mistake for radio static.

Fortunately, CNN is on the case, and had their audio specialist isolate the 1.6 seconds involved, modify it so background noise was removed, and played it back. And while the CNN anchor involved declined to state definitively whether the slur was used, both the editor and the anchor said it sounded an awful lot like it was, especially when the word alone was isolated. Mediaite discovered the segment and linked it. You can watch and decide for yourself below:

Zimmerman’s usage of this slur has further implications than simply his personal character. It bolsters the idea that his killing of Trayvon Martin was at least partially racially motivated, making the case potentially a federal hate crime, rather than a state-level instance of reckless or negligent homicide.

    Cool heads must prevail. Blacks and Mexicans don’t like each other much in those areas. Turf thing.
    They call each other the n word and the s word, even if they were friends also. That does not prove anything and sounds as if it is not even proven that it was uttered.
    What we do know is that we do not know anything. Justice does need to be done. Not the justice of blacks or the justice of the mexicans. So LaRaza butt out and Farrakhan butt out, Jesse Jackson butt out, the 100 hoodie people butt out, and the vigliante black theology gang butt out!
    The Attorney General of the State is doing an investigation and your bullying is not going to force the State to compromise on the investigation. Have patience and have faith.

      Perfectly said. All others need to back off and let process take its course. This guy will get what’s coming to him legally. What happen to innocent until proven guilty? These people have already convicted this guy without due process. It’s a shame. How would this be playing out if the roles were reversed?I really wouldn’t give CNN two cents for there input.       because all the news outlets have an agenda or storys are to vague!!!

      I have edited 1000′s of audio Voice Over files – that is the noise of the breath of Zimmerman who appears to be out of breath. It is definitely not Zimmerman calling the kid a F&&king C**n – Total BS! I have heard that noise so many times in a recording – I recognize the noise the first time I heard it. We usually cut it out in post!

      CNN stirring it up – I hope the true facts come out.

      When you start digitally editing an audio recording where the gain has been cranked up so high you have tons of pink noise to work with you can come up with about anything you want to hear. The ghost hunters do this all the time. Its akin to the way the human brain makes faces appear in random shadows. Pink noise is scientific term – not me poking fun at the left.
      And yes, the cops should have done a more thorough investigation at the start. I think they have become kind of reliant on the neighborhood watch organizations to help them so thats why they were not so aggressive. I suspect that blacks, many wearing hoodies are the people committing crimes in that area and getting away with it. If you have a bunch of crimes being committed by blacks wearing hoodies (and you do – watch the countless robbery camera videos at convenience stores!) then something like this is likely to happen sooner or later.

      Gee, I hope the AG is smart enough to go to CNN to get the ‘unvarnished’ audio rendering! Hmmm, do you think they ‘whitewashed’ it? What’s amazing is that with digital encoding, one CANNOT recover audio in the same fashion as in the old days where transmission was ANALOG and one could simply reduce the noise to recover meaningful audio! I doubt that CNN used or could obtain any deconvolution algorithm to ‘recover’ what was actually said! They need to STOP PRETENDING TO BE AN EXPERT in this area! Cell phones are notorious for butchering weak and garbled audio to the point where the OPPOSITE of what is SAID is often HEARD! People, DO NOT BELIEVE what you think you hear on the PROCESSED AUDIO!

    The Left is going to make the most of this and try to demonize gun owners. Things to keep in mind. This is an isolated incident. If Zimmermann had an agenda to go after blacks that does not make him representative of gun owners. Most legal gun owners are religious about safety and have no desire to ever to shoot anyone. Another thing to keep in mind is that 35,000+ people are killed every year in automobiles in America. Many of those accidents are caused by acts of utter stupidity. Drinking and driving, road rage, texting and cell phoning, or just plain cluelessness. All those deaths hardly hits the news even though the carnage far exceeds that of gun deaths. If people accept the dangers they face every day going to work then surely we can accept the risk that a small minority of legal gun owners will be morons.

    That said, I hope that if Zimmermann was out looking for trouble when he shot that kid, that trouble will find him and land him in a prison cell.

      His death is a tragedy and I pray for him and his family. I truly hope that the next innocent white person who dies at the hands of a black man will inspire us white people to gather together and have are own rally to try and stop the senseless violence against whites. Our own million person march if you will. I think we would only have to wait till tomorrow to start it, since I’m sure the next innocent white person will be murdered by a black man in the very near future. GOD please help us stop the violence.

      Drgermain, I heard the same thing – if they did not say what they thought it said first, I would have guessed ‘he’s f’ing close’. I can also hear ‘f’ing coons’ so I submit this audio is not conclusive. As I said in another post it reminded me of Ghost Hunters and their EVPs – I can’t always make out what is being said and sometimes I hear something different than what they concluded. I think level headed people would agree the audio is poor and subject to interpretation. If you have convicted Zimmerman already you will hear only one version and apparently you are mentally challenged otherwise.

      the question is the last phrase, is it three words, I hear three words, does anybody else, if so what is the first word because that helps determine the third word. ” he’s a f..ing coon“ would make sense if there was an ”a“ but there is not an ”a“ and ”he’s f..ing coon“ does not make sense ”he’s f..ing close” does.

To tell the truth I have no idea what happened and nobody else does ether. Thats why they say its under investigation. If there was wrong doing it will come out and the law will prevail.     Just recently an elderly couple was attacked by a black racist. He beat the old man into a coma and raped and killed the old woman. Another recent case was 2 white British tourists were shot and killed by a black racist. They were found with all their money. You have to look at the British press to see these stories. This one mexican on black story will be world news for weeks. The perp was a mexican, but has been identified as a “white”. Black on white crime is suppressed, white on black is reported for weeks as genocide. This is what happened to South Africa. Now look at the place, it is the crime capital of the world, but not to the liberal press. To them it is a wonderland of freedom. The white South Africans fled to other countries to escape the horror there. Where will white Americans be able to flee to?       I was in SA the summer of ‘90 when the whites were still in charge. It was a very scary place with black violence everywhere. Armed guards in supermarket doorways. I was warned many times not to go to one place or another, not to take certain trains, not to be on the streets at night. In my 5-star hotel room (Carlton in Jo’burg) on the last night, there was a BATTLE 22 floors below me, with bullets flying as a hundred blacks fought as many police right in the center of this major city. I slept under the bed that night and kissed the plane the next day as I left SA forever. And, yes, I hear that it’s MUCH worse now.

I was sent to a fire bombing..yep thats right multiple black males fire bombed a house full of hispanics. The black guys were seen running away by multiple witnesses. I was told I was not allowed to list on the original report that it was a bias crime or racially motivated. Thats the real world folks.

Zimmerman was not following the “Stand Your Ground” law and was told to “not follow him” by the Police. Did the Police mess up on this one? Absolutely. Do the blacks have a right to protest? Absolutely. Do the blacks get to say that a white person killed Martin? No! But they will anyways, because it “fits” into their progressive plans. The Police messed up leaving Martin in the morgue for 3 days and not trying to find his family. Punish Zimmerman and the Police but not the “Stand Your Ground Law” or whites in general.

      First, it was a slur, then some expert said it wasn’t a slur, now it’s again a slur. I listened to that portion of the tape and caught it the first time………it was exactly what I heard. How do I know? Because
      it‘s a family name and I’ve heard it all my life. In fact I bought a lapel pin that made me laugh because it said, “I’m a ( my family name and) azz” Perhaps not P.C. but it was all about a family name to me and had nothing to do with anything else. But, I do believe this is what the big guy said.

    I don’t trust CNN to isolate anything properly. Especially when they do isolate it and then say that

    They still didn’t commit and that gives them plenty of leeway later when a non biased non white classified person is found to be guilty. Because right now, everyone is still arguing whether or not he’s white or hispanic. I mean, they have to find a way to retract accusations of a hate crime when they decide he’s hispanic.

    I have listened to this audio I don’t know how many times over the last few days. In my opinion he is saying PUNKS not COONS. but of course they know that! they are fanning the fire. Who the hell says coons in amerika, that is a totally english/oz thing which is not tollerated by the by

    Blacks murder Whites at 18 times [1800%] the rate Whites murder Blacks. Why all the outcry for this one black person when 17 white people have been killed by blacks in the same time period.

      Yea that yanks my chain, this talk show guy on AM in south florida says there is no such thing as blacks killing whites and they get away with it, argues with his listners, calls them liars then hangs up on them. And he is hispanic. And one more thing he agrees with sharpton comming down to cause trouble

      I am glad I can get internet radio screw that station and their advertisers

      Flowerbell – it’s hard for me to believe you are that stupid and clueless. You entirely missed the whole real issue. Those “other 17” people WERE ARRESTED!! Or at least the police tried to find the killers. Trayvon’s murderer is still walking around free with his gun!!! Do you get the difference?

      Do you really think if Zimmerman had been black that he wouldn’t be in jail? Of course he would.

      THAT is the issue here

      Did the police find the killer, who admitted to the killing and then let him go?
      I doubt it.

      Yes, there are far too many young black men killed in this country – 1 is too many. And too many white, asian and latino men AND women.

      But it this egregious situation, the police let the killer go – even though he had told 911 he was planning on accosting the boy.
