CNN: Muslim Brotherhood ‘Energized’ By Events in Libya

- Muslim Brotherhood “energized” by opportunity to become “important player” in post-Gadhafi Libya — just like in Egypt.
- Claims it has no organizational ties to larger Brotherhood, but admits ideological ones.
- CNN ignores those ties.
It wasn’t too long ago that Obama officials and the media refused to recognize the extremist ties of the Muslim Brotherhood, especially as the group took a prominent role in Egypt. Now, the Brotherhood is looking to do the same thing in Libya. And again, the media is ignoring its past.
In a piece from last week, CNN profiles prominent Libyan Brotherhood leader Dr. Abdulmonem Hresha. In it, CNN paints the Brotherhood as a political organization largely separate from the Brotherhood elsewhere.
“The prominent member of the Muslim Brotherhood now lives in London, and anticipates the group could become an important player in a post-Gadhafi environment,” CNN reports. “As in Egypt and Tunisia, the Brotherhood in Libya has been energized by the sudden upheaval sweeping the Arab world.”
It goes on to say the Libyan Brotherhood “says it has no organizational links with the Brotherhood elsewhere.”
It’s unclear what “no organizational links” actually means. Does it not share leaders? Funding? Maybe, maybe not. But here’s what the group is wiling to admit: it “shares the philosophy of the pan-Arab Islamist movement founded in Egypt in the 1920s.”
Would that philosophy include the ideology laid out in the Muslim Brotherhood‘s 1995 playbook written by the group’s fifth leader? That’s the one called “Jihad is the Way” that preaches about a revitalized Muslim caliphate and, not surprisingly, jihad:
“Jihad for Allah,” [author Mustafa] Mashhur wrote, “is not limited to the specific region of the Islamic countries, since the Muslim homeland is one and is not divided, and the banner of Jihad has already been raised in some of its parts, and shall continue to be raised, with the help of Allah, until every inch of the land of Islam will be liberated, and the State of Islam established.”
So how does CNN treat the group? For the most part, it goes out of its way to point out when the Libyan Brotherhood is making claims about itself, as to not confuse those claims with CNN’s. Still, however, its silence about the Muslim Brotherhood’s past and ties says a lot. And then there is this little nugget:
A more prominent role for the Brotherhood in Libya could dent support for al Qaeda and other jihadist groups, especially in eastern provinces that have witnessed significant radicalization in recent years.
But isn’t the Muslim Brotherhood also a radical group that birthed the terror group Hamas? CNN’s assertion is also odd considering Hresha admits the group would like to rule by Islamic — or Shariah — law in Libya:
Hresha says that if his organization forms a political party, it would seek to legislate according to Koranic principles, which would include, for example, a continued ban on the sale of alcohol.
“Why shouldn’t we be able to press our point of view — we are humans too,” he said.
That doesn’t sound radical at all, especially considering Shariah law includes stoning of homosexuals and cheating women.
Up until now, the Libyan Brotherhood has been in hiding. In 1998, CNN says, the group was the target of a Gadhafi crackdown. But now, “Despite years of repression, Hresha claims the Brotherhood still has thousands of members scattered across Libya, with chapters in almost every single town, including Sirte, Gadhafi’s birthplace on the coast west of Tripoli.”
“We’ve been working secretly till this moment,” Hresha tells the network.
And there’s nothing to worry about.

Report Post »Washington ( George ) and Jefferson, Adams, and the men who chose to set us free battled against these forces. They even foresaw the days we live in, and warned us about the dangers we face. They said wicked men would come in, become very wealthy, and try to slam the door of the Republic, and it’s freedoms behind them so others could not do what they have done. How long have we all, with our own eyes seen, with voices cracking with exasperation decried the wholesale purchase of our so called elected representatives who speak great glowing words to us to get elected, and once elected they feed their true master? Is this not why the TEA PARTY was formed?Have we so soon forgot our focus? Caliphate? Let’s get our house in order, for if we don’t then this vile wickedness of caliphate shall land upon our shores and consume us. It is time for every man and woman to take stock of their affairs, is your house in order, then look towards the affairs of our nation, to determine the course of action required and to prosecute that course with steely resolve.
Our true enemies have many weakness’s the most glaring is their scarcity in numbers. For not all wealthy people are evil and only a few are the actors, let us not be all inclusive for we don’t repay evil with evil. How then do we defeat these thieves of our birthright? By bringing them to the light so that everyone can see there deeds, and when it is so done all will turn their backs upon them and shall no longer “ feed ” them they money and power they thirst for, they shall wither and die as a vine without water. They are bold, they list who they are here on the web, daring us to call them to account, arrogant and manipulative, they believe it is to late for the cattle, as Soros has said, ” That boat has already sailed.”, let’s put a torpedo into their boat shall we?
Remain focused, VETTE our candidates with fine toothed combs, and if necessary take whatever action to reclaim our REPUBLIC.
If at all possible be at peace with all men, don’t not repay evil with evil, for in doing so you heap coals upon their heads.

Posted on March 28, 2011 at 12:18pmI hate to think that any U.S. President could have that kind of thing in mind. I suppose anything is possible. But again we have a system in place to thwart attacks from inside or outside of the country. The Pentagon recently released information to the public because “we think the American public should know…….” I bet my right arm that that release was not “within policy.” Some careers probably ended the next day.
We have lots of heroes in & out of uniform. Very few Pvt. Mannings. Not everyone in government or national service is a politician nor do they all have a political agenda. They serve because they believe it is the right thing to do. It’s akin to The Medal (The Congressional Medal of Honor.) No military member wants one for two reasons: 1) Nobody believes they are that brave. (2) They almost always pin it to coffins. Yet it is awarded very sparingly but regularly to people who just do what they think is right.

Posted on March 28, 2011 at 10:35amBeck was ridiculed by MSNBC and CNN when he brought up the possibility of a caliphate movement in the middle-east starting with Egypt. He didn’t say it was going to happen, just the danger that it could. Meanwhile the other news networks were accusing him of being a scare monger, paranoid, and anti-muslim. What always confused me about those accusations was that setting up a new caliphate is one of the stated goals of the muslim brotherhood and al quada. They say that’s what they want to do, Beck says that maybe that is what they are trying to do, and Beck gets accused of fear mongering? That is like when Hitler wrote “mein komph” laying out some of the things that he intended to do, and when people pointed out that he was starting to do just what he said he wanted to do in his book, they were ridiculed and told that nobody should take what Hitler said in his book seriously. He didn’t really mean it. It appears that history could be repeating itself. Perhaps when these organizations come out and say that they intend to set up a middle-east caliphate, that they want to kill us, and that they want to “convert” the entire world to islam, by use of the sword if necessary, they just might be serious and mean everything that they say.

He is all of those things. He overdramatizes events (scare monger), draws wrong conclusions and omits parts of information so they fit his agenda/world view (paranoia) and at one point said that 1 in 10 Muslims is a terrorist and more to that effect (anti-Muslim).

1) I don’t believe Mr. Obama has the guts to declare it.
2) If the administration did declare martial law there would be a backlash as we haven’t seen since the Civil War.
I would think that both sides of the isle would fight it tooth & nail. 99.9% of American troops will always follow lawful orders of those appointed over them. Key word “lawful.” The circumstances that would require ML to be imposed are extreme. I would hope that the checks and balances that are built into our system of government would function as designed. I think that the system would stop the President from carrying it out. Not just Mr. Obama but any President that wasn’t justified by real events.
This contingency plan wasn’t designed for implementation due to political differences. The threat has to be a clear and present danger to the survival of our nation. I just don’t think we are anywhere close to that condition. An informed citizenry is the best defense against an out of control government. (The 2nd Amendment is also helpful!) I could also envision very senior military leaders having huge problems implementing that action. Meaning that ML might be imposed but it might not be what Mr. Obama envisioned. They would return control to civilians ASAP.
Our country is unique in that while we can vehemently disagree with each other; the vast majority of Americans do love our country and would not take kindly to major, abrupt changes forced on them.
The short answer is: The Founders were brilliant!
My two cents worth.

Posted on March 28, 2011 at 11:45amThinking the unthinkable: White House supporting Jihadists?
The White House has repeatedly claimed that it attacked Libya to protect its citizens from human rights violations. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on February 28 told the United Nations Human Rights Council, “The international community has been speaking with one voice, saying very clearly that Colonel Gadhafi’s brutal attacks on his own people are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Gadhafi has lost the legitimacy to govern and it is time for him to go without further violence or delay.” American officials all the way to the Oval Office have been using possible human rights violations as justification for bombing Libya.
Yet dictators and regimes across the entirety of the Islamic Middle East and Africa by law are gross violators of human rights. That law is Sharia law. And wherever we have seen unrest in recent weeks, reports of these regimes turning guns on their own citizens have surfaced. If the logic carried through that we entered Libya with force because of human rights violations, then the United States military would also be deployed in Syria, Yemen, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iran and a host of other countries. In fact, if human rights were the justification, any Islamic state would be occupied by the United States. Where were we when massacres were taking place in the Darfur region of Sudan?
Bloomberg reports that Clinton also is considering arming the Libyan rebels. Clinton told reporters on March 17 in response to a question about arming the Libyan rebels: “those kinds of specificities are exactly what’s being negotiated and debated…” Problem is, if America arms the Libyan rebels, it will be arming al Qaeda. The UK Telegraph reported on March 25 that Libyan rebel leader Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi admitted that al Qaeda had joined his efforts as well as jihadists that had fought against the US in Iraq. Chad’s president earlier announced that al Qaeda had stolen sophisticated arms from the arsenals in Libya. Hence, the possibility the American plane shot down was done by the “rebels” we are helping.
The Libyan attack was either the least justified military intervention of the century, or the most deceiving, unscrupulous and cunning of recent events. Publicly, it appears to be just another one of this Administration’s many foreign policy blunders, but more disturbing is the hypocritical justification and the emerging pattern of America being aligned with terrorists such as the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda. Libya is a prophetically significant event, although the layers of it remain in the shadows. 2 Timothy 3:13 says that in the latter days, “…evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” Americans should question if the president’s Muslim roots go deeper than he says they do.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
