CNN: Muslim Brotherhood Will Not Seek Presidency

According to CNN, the Muslim Brotherhood — the Islamist organization credited with birthing the terrorist group Hamas — says it will not field a candidate for the Egyptian presidential race.
CNN reports:
The Muslim Brotherhood said Wednesday it will promote democracy in Egypt but does not intend to field a candidate for president.
“The Muslim Brotherhood are not seeking power,” Mohammed Morsi, a member of the group’s media office, said at a news conference. “We want to participate, not to dominate. We will not have a presidential candidate, we want to participate and help, we are not seeking power.”
The Islamist umbrella group also sought to dispel fears that it would push for an Islamic state in a post-Hosni Mubarak era.
“We reject the religious state,” said Mohammed Katatny, former head of the Muslim Brotherhood’s parliamentary bloc. “We are not responsible of the speeches and statements of external forces. The regime have been using the Muslim Brotherhood scarecrow to tell the world that the regime is the only one who can safeguard the country, but this is wrong and it is their way to try to ignore the people’s demands.”
That statement comes a day after it was reported a 1995 book from the Brotherhood reveals the group’s objectives, including the “global conquest of Islam” and “reestablishing the Islamic Caliphate, the “public and private duties of jihad,” and the “struggles Muslims must wage against Israel.”

Keep in mind that the fire that engulfs the revolution in Egypt was ignited by Socialists. Later embraced by the Islamist, of course. It is true that the Muslim Brotherhood was banned as an organization in 1954. But, it has been tolerated and has forged alliances with legal and political groups in the past two decades. The Liberal Socialists, the Wafd and other Socialist Labor Parties have been allies. The Muslim Brotherhood has allied with Socialists. There is no Right-wing movement in Egypt as we think of the Right. The Right is the Islamic Fundamentalist which is really no Right but a Left combined with Islamist ideology. Of course, the US policy, led by the closet Socialist, President Obama has been publicly supporting the Egyptian people. Obama wants rights of assembly and elections in Egypt. Americans need to realize that Democratic elections in the Middle East have never resulted in Western-style freedom. The rule in any Muslim majority nation is that Democracy is used only during the election period. What did the elections in Muslim majority do? In Iran, we have chaos, we have a Theocracy.

This is not a benign group looking for democracy for the ‘common’ people. CNN and the MSM is becoming their new tool. I hear too often that the Muslim Brotherhood is not radical and that they are non-violent (even though one of their leaders, Muhammad Ghannem, said Egypt should prepare for war against Israel). Few, if any, challenge this peaceful view and those that do are marginalized and demonized (just ask Glenn Beck).

Even the progressive Teddy Roosevelt knew the value of keeping our populace educated and morally rooted-“To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society.” Our educational systems have been working to eliminate critical thinking skills; it would appear they have nearly succeeded.
