CNN Plays Inappropriate Song After Segment on Sikh Temple Shooting

CNN staffers last week sparked a bit of controversy when they chose to introduce a segment on former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin with a song titled “Stupid Girls.”

Today, it looks like CNN may have outdone itself in the “totally inappropriate bumper music” department by playing Billy Joel’s “Only the Good Die Young” following a panel discussion on the tragic Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting:

Granted, the song isn’t about murder and it has nothing to do with the Sikh faith. It’s a boorish piece of pop-candy about a guy who’s trying to sleep with a good Catholic girl.

But of all the verses in the song CNN producers chose to play, they picked these?

Well, they showed you a statue, told you to pray
They built you a temple and locked you away
Ah but they never told you the price that you pay,
For the things that you might have done…
Only the good die young
That’s what I said
Only the good die young
Only the good die young.

Okay, okay, let’s be fair: CNN’s “Starting Point,” as Newsbuster’s Noel Sheppard notes, “allows guest contributors to offer a song playlist for their appearances” and Joel’s song was chosen by CNN guest Hank Sheinkopf.

Alright, we understand guests get to choose the music and we understand this wasn’t planned. But, good grief, wasn’t there at least an intern somewhere who said, “Hey, this seems like a really bad idea right now. Maybe we should play something else”?

UPDATE — After news outlets including Newsbusters and TheBlaze reported on the inappropriate song, CNN released the following statement:

We aired a song from a guest’s playlist on the morning show following a three-minute commercial break and before a segment on presidential politics, unrelated to the Wisconsin shooting. Given the news of the day, this was regrettable and we apologize to our viewers.

Let’s face it the Communist News Network is scraping the bottom of the barrel. All of the good reporters and on air personalities have long since left that excuse for a network. The only people left are left wing extremists taking orders from the White House.

Why is it American leftists are so anxious to deny one of their own whenever it is convenient? Why do they try to pin Neo Nazis on the right when the clan and American Nazi groups were affiliated with the Democrats as the Republicans sought to give minorities more rights?

It doesn’t matter how many times you pathetic leftwingers try to place the blame of hateful actions on the doorstep of the right, we know the truth (that you are wrong) and our conscience is clear. I love how you people ignore, for instance, the hateful ideals and plans of Margaret Sanger. Remember her? She’s the one who started Planned Parenthood, she was a racist and a white supremist who believed in eugenics to get rid of the “problem minorities”. She was admired by Hitler, and is STILL idolized, embraced and revered by the left wingers. Stop trying to accuse the right for everything bad that happens, and look to all the evil on your own side.

Trollmonger may have inadvertently tipped his hand with this one. Most folks, I believe, after hearing of a story like this probably secretly hope that it cannot be found that the aggressor would ultimately be found to have ties to their own political or religious beliefs. It’s something we all must worry about these days. No one wants wants to have their cause discredited by some radical puss bucket. Much like the OWS crowd moving their bowels on police cars and the like… But the big difference with this particular troll is that he doesn’t even feel the pain for the victom before these political feeling creep in. His first and only hope is that the perp WILL be conservative, WILL be a Tea Party member, WILL be a Romney voter. He must have it. Praying to a god he doesn’t even believe in to “Please let this be a white guy, and let this white guy be conservative! And I’ll even go to church every Sunday, God, If you will PLEASE let one of those tattoos be the Glenn Beck logo!” Such is the mind of todays political left. I like to argue with the liberal mind. To challenge it. I think most of us do. But the liberal mind seeks only to destroy the conservative at all cost. To eradicate him. To think that we might learn something from each other in the present day is an idea thats fading from me. Sorry for feeding the troll folks, but I am highly disappointed in this person. Good people are dead and yet here we are blaming good people for it. My heart broke a bit for you today

CNN, much like NBC and the stupid “monkey rings” scandal, better be careful. I’m afraid that if liberals keep contradicting themselves in their own PC game this way, the consequences could be disastrous in which:

“The results could cause a chain-reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum and would destroy the universe!…(granted that’s a worst case scenario as the destruction might be limited and localized only to our own galaxy…)”——Doc Brown.
