CNN Worries Censure May Be Bad for Charlie Rangel’s Health

As the House Ethics Committee passed down its censure verdict for Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y.,, CNN anchors and commentators seemed less concerned with the congressman’s wrongdoing and more concerned with how the verdict will impact the 80-year-old.  (h/t:  Newsbusters)

90% of all these problems can be solved by getting rid of just one word: Re-election

ALL politicians should SERVE only ONE TERM and then Go Home. Go back to your regular life and stop wasting time, money, getting hooked on power, making backroom deals and under the table deals, selling yourself to the devil and being an elitist. Remain a common American after having the privilege of serving one term for your country.

Does that surprise any of us? The left could care less about what is right since most of them are corrupt anyway. CNN has no clue what the meaning of morals, or ethics are. If they did they would be delivering real news and not picking and choosing what news suits their political agenda.

We already have term limits, it’s called the voting for some one else. There are always going to be areas where the people want to vote for idots like Charley. But some times people wake up. Mid Fla. is one that comes to mind, They woke up and got rid of Alan Grayson.

if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen… time for Rangel to retire, and go to a nice jail cell to live out his days, when you hold an electic office and you break the law, you are held to a higher expectation, there is no way he should get a slap on the wrist, and if that is the normal procedure on the Hill, it is time we change those rules…. elected officals are and should be expected to conduct themselves in a lawful manner and when they do not they have broken that trust, regardless if he was reelected by his district his policies affect the entire country and he should at this point of time atleast be kicked out of congress, he has no right to be there when in fact any citizen with the same charges and convicted would probably do jail time. this is the problem with the Fed Gov. and why people do not trust what they do, nor beleive what they say,

CNN needs to worry about its own health. Since the American public learned that they are one of the five COMMUNIST “News” outlets, who are trying their best to emulate Radio Moscow under the Stalin regiem, their viewership has declined to nothing.

As far as Rangel is concerned, the old saying, “Twas ever thus” applies fully. These elitest lefties in Washington are never going to really convict one of their own. This has happened many times in the past and will continue to happen because the American people won’t put a stop to it. Senators, Congressmen and all government officials should not only be treated as any other citizen when they commit crimes, THEY should be held to a higher standard and punished more severely because they are ELECTED representatives of this country.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!! Demand TERM LIMITS! Cut out the full salary perk these people voted for themselves when they retire or voted out. When they leave office, THEY LIVE LIKE THE REST OF US! If they commit any crimes, prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

Took the words right out of my brain. It’s called consequences! Maybe jail would be bad for his health too but I guess he never thought anyone would have the audacity to find him guilty of any wrong doing; afterall, he does represent Harlem, whose residents he has managed to keep down while he bought island rental property. Think of the good he could have done with all those millions but he was too self-serving – and they keep re-electing him – very sad.

There are a lot of people who are in poor health in prison. There are a lot of people who are in prison for things far less serious than what Rangel did. What ever happened to the old addage, “You play, you pay”?

Mr. Rangel, weren’t the perks and the benefits of being a Congressman enough for you? Other candidates have been knock out of their races simply on the suspicion that they may not have paid all their taxes promptly. You got a free ride on the off shore property for 17 -yeh, 17 years – and you are whining about it? Who was at fault here? Not Bush, not Reagan, not Palin, not Rove. You and you alone, sir, were responsible for the mess you yourself created. Now, buck up and take the medicine.

Guilty is guilty, and after all, it only took three years or so just to bring him to trial. And less than a day, if I get the story right, to convict him. Seventeen years he did this, and will get away with nothing more severe than a stern “I told you so” from the senate.

And of course there will most likely be no criminal prosecution against him either.

yes,,,as a public servand AND a leader, at that, they are BOUND to a higher standard. We lead by example, right? There is no deterrent to committing a crime if they know they will get away with it and only have to pay back what they stole (or cheated.) Unfortunately, there are thousands of government SERVANTS who owe money to the government and probably will get away with it until THEY are caught (no jail, no fines, just pay what you owe.)
