Coast Guard: Occupy Boston Protesters Spit On Female Officer

The Coast Guard is confirming Friday morning that one of its female officers in uniform was spit on an harassed while near the Occupy Boston protest.
“The woman was walking to the train and said protesters spit on her twice, called her foul names and even threw a water bottle at her,” MyFoxBoston.com reports.
Now, the Coast Guard is warning all staff working on Atlantic Avenue to avoid Occupy Boston protesters while in uniform.

“The peaceful protestors say the violence wasn’t supposed to happen and a group of anarchists were the ones rebelling. They say they do not condone that type of behavior,” MyFoxBostong.com says.
Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey isn’t buying it, however:
A spokesman for Occupy Boston tells Fox that anyone could have shown up at their protest to spit on and harass Coast Guard officers in an attempt to “defamate” the movement. Uh, sure. Two men spent time at Occupy Boston just on the off chance that a uniformed member of the armed forces might walk by so that they could spit on her — just to discredit the movement?
And that raises other question: Does the Occupy Boston crowd encourages and foster this type of behavior?
Morrissey concludes:
I know that this is already going to be the first reaction to this story among readers, but let me state it anyway. Had even one Tea Party rally resulted in 140 arrests, defecation on police cars, speakers calling for a violent French Revolution-style change in society, or members of the military getting attacked with spit and epithets, would the national media have offered such a balanced report — or would the media have used any of these incidents to warn America about the latent hate and violence in the movement?
The answer seems obvious. Knowing the left’s fondness for scare tactics, had members of the Tea Party engaged in any of the aforementioned behavior, the media would be warning of increases in rape, murder and that women would die on the floor.

She is US Coast Guard, which is NOT under the Department of Defense…the coast guard is under the Transportation Department, therefore Posse Comitatus is not applicable in this case any way…not that it matters, as she wasn’t involved in any such activities…just trying to make it somewhere else on the train…

In 1967, the 82nd AirBourn was sent to Detroit, to curb riots. Ike sent the 101st AirBourn to the South to inmpose Civil Rights. FDR used Ike and Patton against rioters in the US. Lincoln use the Army to occupy New York City. The problem is about Unconstitutional use of our Army against Civilians… and about Provocing conflicts between the Military and Civilians!

B) The United States Coast Guard while recognized as a branch of the Armed Forces is only officially one when it falls under the Department of the Navy when conducting military operations. Otherwise it is considered a maritime law enforcement agency.
Title 14, Part 1, Chapter 1, Paragraph 3:
Upon the declaration of war if Congress so directs in the declaration or when the President directs, the Coast Guard shall operate as a service in the Navy, and shall so continue until the President, by Executive order, transfers the Coast Guard back to the Department of Homeland Security. While operating as a service in the Navy, the Coast Guard shall be subject to the orders of the Secretary of the Navy who may order changes in Coast Guard operations to render them uniform, to the extent he deems advisable, with Navy operations.
Therefore the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 does not apply to the Coast Guard. The Air Force, Army, Marines and Navy are forbidden from operating inside the U.S. in an enforcement capacity unless the Insurrection Act is invoked, however the National Guard is a state militia when not under federal orders and therefore can be deployed at the will of the Governor.

That only applies to DOD not Homeland Security which is what the Coast guard is considered, not DOD. This is what gives the coast guard authority to board vessels, which no other branch can do because they are under DOD (department of defense). get your facts straight. k thanks.

Anyway, this woman was taking a train home and happened to be walking by the protest… that guy is right she wasn’t involved in any police activities… she was attacked by some random worked up too big for their britches protesters… unfortunately we have to worry about what makes the coast guard looks bad so it keeps our members from acting out/defending themselves.

I might be small, but just ask my brother how fast I took him down and beat the crap out of him when he wouldn’t stop kicking me (lightly) while watching TV. He was four years older. Of course, that was many, many moons ago. He had to call for mom to get me off.
I will protect myself by any means and someone who spits at least deserves a slap or two minimum.

Back in my day, if someone had spit on one of the sailors, he’d have gone back to the ship, spread the word, and shortly thereafter, a large number of sailors armed with dogging wrenches would have made mincemeat out of the protesters. What would happen say if a group of about 20-40 military personell were to go to the local pub, get a little liquid fortification and then decide to strike out at these people with military precision? The wannabe tyrants will not accept compromise that does not advance the cause of chaos.
