Code Pink: Unions, Van Jones Not Behind ‘Occupy Wall Street’

During an interview with MRCTV, radical anti-war group Code Pink’s Medea Benjamin said that neither Van Jones, nor Service Employees International Union organizer Stephen Lerner are behind the “Occupy D.C.“ and ”Occupy Wall Street” movements.

Benjamin’s statement, however, contradicts The Blaze’s earlier report that revealed Lerner was behind the initial “Day of Rage” protests that served as the inspiration and launchpad for Occupy Wall Street:

“Now, the US Day of Rage protests, staged by a collective of activist groups allegedly in conjunction with Lerner and Rathke, are planning the actual “occupation” of Wall Street September 17, complete with a tent city set smack-dab in the middle of Manhattan’s financial district.  Similar protests are purportedly set to take place across the nation — and even world — at the same time. Some Day of Rage organizers are even calling on activists to squat in Manhattan’s financial district for months at a time.”

When asked whether the SEIU organizer was behind Occupy Wall Street, Benjamin told MRCTV Lerner was not involved and did not even want to “touch it,“ stating that it was only after seeing overwhelming public response to the ”Occupy” movements that Lerner, and in the broader scope, the unions, wanted to become involved.

Likewise, Benjamin asserted that Jones, too, did not have anything to do with the planned protests despite his promise of an “October Offensive.” Jones held a rally outside of the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. on October 5, 2011.

    No their not behind it because they are probably ahead of it. God knows the truth who started it and financing it. If they are telling the truth they won’t have to worry about the lightening bolts (lol) and their souls.
    The ones who are doing the protesting better know what they are in it for. If they think they have problems now they better think about their future. If America’s way of life goes down so do they.

      Thats what I can’t understand how do they think that if our country goes down they will get anything? What will socialism do for them? At least those of us that have paid attention will be prepared. Will they be the ones that will sell their souls to the devil and turn people in? Will they think they can freely take from the rest of us? It is hard to think about when we are willing to help others, but how will we know who to trust?

      PamelaKay, with regard to what they want out of socialism: Socialist ideas always create an authoritarian state wherein the ruling elite get to impose their will on the masses. That is basically the only way to impose that misguided philosophy. What they want is to be part of the elite group that tells the people how they should live. Then they can shove their green garbage and imorals down our throat and persecute and punish us for feeling differently.

      Idiots have a propensity for latching onto other idiots. The paired idiots then latch onto a third idiot, which cluster of idiots then begins drawing in more idiots by way of the vacuum pressure generated by their group, as their collective being tries to draw in something with actual brains to correct their natural instability due to a lack of brains.

      It’s an empirical reaction, by which sheer idiocy is magnified a thousandfold in a chemical reaction that is clearly evident to common man but which has eluded scientific scrutiny for generations…

      Code Pink activist Liz Hurican told Fox News:

      “The Ron Paul people are closer and closer to our talking points with each election.”

      Ron Paul Spokeswoman Rachel Mills says Code Pink is actually leaning more in the direction of Ron Paul’s beliefs and politics, saying the Congressman “is in favor of coalition-building” with anti-war groups.

      Of course he is… Code Pink and Ron Paul [and his followers} are leftist bedfellows Anti-war groups hate Israel. Like Ron Paul, they consider American and Israel murderers, and both Paul and Pink constantly hurl Israel under Hamas tanks. And we don’t have to look far to compare both to see their views are identical when it comes to Israel, Palestinians, war and America.

    Medea Benjamin is a useful idiot. I knew her in the 70′s when she was Susan Benjamin.My grandfather ran her father’s construction company. She lived in Cuba and worked for Castro. She would come back to New York 3 or 4 times a year to buy all the essentials she couldn’t get in her communist utopia. She isn’t the brains behind this or anything. She is a true believer but she is not a deep thinker. She was due to inherit between 30-50 million from her parents. My guess is she still likes to play communist then jet home to the estate for essentials.

    Code Pink is a liar.THE SEIU Union a couple of moths ago was talking to a group to organinize a protest against central banks and large corpotation.Where is the best place to protest these groups?     Seriously. This is a simple plan. Main stream middle class Americans busy raising their children, taking them to baseball practice or games or soccer or whatever sport, busy with all the comforts of what they perceive will never be taken away are NOT engaged and have no clue what is going on. They think they can just go to work, go to Church and all will be well. I was one of those folks for a long while. Just starting to engage. Wow….there’s a lot of issues to overcome and the folks who want to bring down this country have had an amazing head start. Middle America (as in reasonable thoughtful folks) need to wake up. The avalanche is coming. The left have set it off and it’s going to be scary what is going to occur.

      Thank you for doing your homework and waking up! I started to wake up about 8 years ago but didn’t really see the connections until Beck came on to FOX. I have since bought literally hundreds of books (doing my part for the economy), to educate myself on everything that I see as a threat to my liberty and freedom.

I miss him on the daily program. It is not the same on the GBTV. Guess I am not on the computer enough. Have to gather wood split it stack it and snuggle in for winter.. Vietnam Vet and “darned proud of it” but can’t understand why people fight a war with others blood and not intend to win.

    I bring this up often because it is true. My brother worked for Chrysler Engine. He had 25 years seniority. He worked less than 7 years. The rest of the time he was on Medical Stress Leave. During this period he received 95% of his pay. He partied hard the entire 25 years. He was on the third of a five week paid vacation he received for his 25 years seniority, when they found him dead in the street with a needle still in his arm. Great job UNIONS.

By the way, I know Code Pink goes around wearing pink and disrupting events, but what do they stand for? Or, like so many of their ilk, do they only stand against other people’s enterprises.

      I seem to recall reading that they are an orginization of women who have an anti-war and anti-capitalism agenda. I do know they are supported and encouraged by the Communist Party USA and were involved in the Egyptian Arab Spring protests in Cairo. They also occasionally organize protests for the Palestinean Homeland movement.

    Looks like Obama and his cabal have put their agenda into overdrive and have the pedal to the metal trying to drive us head first over the proverbial cliff. They realize this is their last window of opportunity, probably for generations, because Obama will not be re-elected.
