Col. Pro-Union Protesters Wave Mexican Flag While Chanting ‘USA’

Now this is ironic.

During a pro-union rally in Denver at the State Capitol Tuesday, protesters broke out in a random chant of “USA!” As the video will show, the chant seems to be directed at Tea Party counter-protesters who had also gathered. But that’s not the most interesting thing the video will show. While chanting “USA!” one of the protesters can be seen waving a Mexican flag. Watch below:

Having lived in Denver, I can tell you that there is a large Mexican-American population there. But it still seems odd to wave the flag of one country while chanting the name of another.

Readers may have also picked up on another piece of irony. Behind the protesters — and the flag-waving lady — is a man wearing a vest with a hammer and sickle on it:

This is the same rally that featured protesters heckling a black Tea Partier.

    Why hasn’t the brutality on the Mexican-American border been smashed to pieces? We need to elevate our spirituality. The west coast especially needs courageous people to keep the calm, and keep the calm on the Mexican-American border.

    I believe, although I didn’t actually count them, there were far more yellow flags (don’t tread on me) flags than Mexican flags.

    22 states have right to work laws and they tend strongly toward being the states in the best shape economically. They do just fine, relatively.

    All these good libs profess their belief in free choice for everything but your labor. In this case they believe in indentured servitude where you have to bow to your union bosses and give them your hard earned money to spend the way they want. Throw the involvement of the Dems in this “enterprise” and the huge amounts of money you have changing hands, and it has over 50 years evolved to become a form of racketeering. But their ends always justify their means. Promote the truth about this unfair practice, write to your local paper, forums and blogs, call radio programs, and ask your state attorney general to criminally investigate the connection between organized labor, the money exchanged back and fourth for unfair influence, and who really benefits from this activity.

    It’s been so wrong for so very, very long.

    There are enough freeloading mexicans living off of the taxpayers in this country. Send them all back to Mexico where they great government do spit for them while they come here and live off the rest of us then join unions to get more.

      I had several family members working with a group of (legal) Mexicans, they said they were the hardest workers, and most dependable at the plant. Didn’t miss work, didn’t complain about it either. Nearly weekly, some state or federal agency checked all their papers to guarrantee they were legal. Happened for months and my kid became really close friends with several of them, then came the day that someone from Immigration showed up and one of the papers checked weekly suddenly didn’t check out. Within minutes, the word was out and all of them had hit the fields. Agents showed up to lines running with no one there. The company personell agent & President got hold of someone else from their neighborhood who knew what happened and was told that at least one of them tried for 5 yrs. to immigrate legally, was at the border daily filling out paperwork, and unable to support his family because of it. Finally he became frustrated and bought {legal} papers from someone at the border (borrowing from everyone he knew to do so.) Within days he was in America and had a good job, his friends did the same. The company wanted to attempt to get them back legally since they were very good and reliable workers, and co-operated with ICE investigators while the person who was trying to legally come here gathered the rest at their side of the border filling out papers again. The {legal} papers had been programmed into the Social Security Computer in Chicago so that they would check out, until someone told the computer to spit them out. (They traced it to a government building in Chicago, but couldn’t tell who did it, nor how. Meantime 5 more years went by and the company was told to give up, they couldn’t come back. {legally} however someone claims to have seen at least one of them in this state with a new name.
      Q) Who in the gov. is working with the coyotees to sell {legal} papers, and keep people from getting them the prescribed way?
      A) NO ONE KNOWS, BUT ISN’T THAT THE “CHICAGO WAY” ???

    I feel sorry for union members, they are like so many sheep!! Why can’t they realize they are being used and the price they pay is in union dues. One story said some teachers in WI pay as much as $l,000/yr. in dues! And their money is used for issues they may not agree with. And the really sad part is it’s our tax money paying for all this! Public sector employees should not be unionized…the government is not a business operating to make a profit. When unions win increases in government employees wages or benefits, taxes increase or the government increases their deficit. This hurts all taxpayers.

      It’s not weird, they were most likely trying to get the Mexicans to join with them because as you know they love to protest in this country too. It is all a ploy to get strength in numbers.       Actually, we have both public and private unions here in Texas, they just are’nt as prevalent as they are up north.And since Texas is a right to work state, there is’nt as many members per-capita.

      Same here in AZ, yet if they want to be like the other countries, then let them leave for those same countries; one of the progressives I deal with is checking into becoming a citizen of mexico, and I stated we will talk more when he looks into the matter and sees if he really thinks he has a chance to do so.

      Saw this too in Miami a few years back when the Coast Guard stopped some Cuban rafters just off the coast of Miami Beach. Despite video evidence that it was one of the rafters who drew a knife that prompted the USCG to use pepper spray, a segment of the Cuban community chose to transform that event into anti-Cuban prejudice. They then had slow downs by driving 10 mph on the expressways, but didn’t get much support. So, they decided to up the ante and stage sit ins on the same expressways during rush hour causing MASSIVE traffic jams. The shouts of the protests alternated between “Cuba Libre” and “USA,” but this didn’t gather much public support either since the only flags between waved were Cuban.

      This is THE problem. For whatever reason, certain ethnic groups have historically been unable to EVER Govern themselves? Why should we think “this time” will be any different? My eyes tell me that these same ethnic groups are the ones DEMANDING more and more all the while taking NO responsibility themselves.       I don’t think you can group people by ethnic groups and then sterotype them the way you have. It would be fairer to gropu them by CULTURE because every culture is unique with its own strengths and weaknesses. I don’t think ethicity really plays a huge role except that the ethnicity of certain cultures tends to be similiar.

      For example, most U.S. citizens are white; most African citizens are black – but it is the culture itself that is important to how the group behaves and its value system. Your argument, as framed ,comes off a lot as Ethnic Group A is smart, Ethic Group B is dumb and that’s not valid.

      I live in Colorado and this is typical out here. Denver is a sanctuary city and now that the former mayor is the new governor it will be a sanctuary state. We also have the People’s Republic of Boulder here so there is never a shortage of “brilliant college students” to show up for these things.

      The common exhortation to these people would be “get a job!” (or a life, perhaps), and it’s my hope that those who take their taxpayer-funded positions for granted, who insist on squeezing a few more eggs out of a dried-up Golden Goose of Government Largesse, will get to experience the harsh welcome-to-reality known as the job search. In the cold, not so touchy-feely world of performance standards and competition no less. @ Chicken Little: I probably don’t agree with you on much else, but I read the headline as you did (”Col. Pro-Union”. A leftist superhero, perhaps?). Either spell out the state’s name (my first preference), use the proper abbreviation (”Colo.”) or my least-favorite choice, the highly annoying postal abbreviation (“CO”). The all-caps nature of the postal mode is very distracting and, I think, an indicator of editorial laziness . . .
